  1. Player Equipment Fixes Kickin' it into overdrive now. Loot, loot, loot. Sacred 2 players want their sweet drops, their killer stats, and their cool-looking gear. CM 1.60 delivers. ====================================================== Item Drops: Added several missing Legendaries (Tier 15 items) to the proper drop lists. After studying the drop lists for a long time, I was able to identify that some Legendaries are just flat out missing. Triple-checking them against other Legendaries which actually drop properly, I saw that some corrections need to be made. This includes nearly all of the vanilla all-class mini-sets. Battery from Kendric's Archon set (Kendric's Core) now drops. Afirdnasy's Shuriken will now properly drop. Magic-tier Throwing Potions should drop more often now (corrected typo in drop lists). --------------------------------------------------- Item Appearance and SFX: Lightsaber ambient hum is now a more appropriate (quieter) volume. Improved visible seams on High Elf's base model. This was a side effect of bringing in new High Elf sets in CM 1.50. Pesmontis kindly updated the Elf's model to remove the seams on her torso and legs. Leg from the High Elf's Frozen Gems set (Blue Carbuncle) no longer flashes and glows. Boots and torso armor from High Elf's Children of Asha set receive improved models from dimitrius154. She had a double cape mesh on the torso, and the boot spikes would stretch when moving. Both now fixed. Inquisitor's Judicator set now has upgraded models and textures from dimitrius154. A big overhaul, now skeletal and spiky in design. Shadow Warrior's sets Scourge of Lordaeron and the Doom Guard Armor now have improved models and textures from dimitrius154. Wings from Seraphim's Genesis Siderea set (Star Meadows) no longer have bugged textures with black spots. 3 very small 1-handed longsword models are rescaled to be larger. 4 of the smaller 2-handed swords are rescaled to be larger and more appropriately proportioned. All bows in the game now have bowstrings. Thanks Pesmontis! 2 new clubs and 2 new shields added in CM 1.50 now have the metal shader. These items were extremely dull and dingy before, not befitting their unique status. Energy Weapons and Pistols now get damage type VFX applied. Yep, poison, fire, ice, and magic FX now all apply to energy weapons. Restored 8 item designs that were present in the CM Items Mod 1.2 but were removed for possible copyright issues (which are now resolved) when the mod was integrated into CM Patch 1.50. These are the Titan Quest and Torchlight Easter Egg weapons made by Silver Fox. --------------------------------------------------- Item Stats: Denderan's Reserve (Shadow Warrior set armor) now has its missing Malevolent Champion Focus bonus. Formerly it had Exalted Warrior Focus assigned, which usually wouldn't even appear. Ilgard's Visions (Inquisitor set armor) now has its missing Aspect: Gruesome Inquisition bonus. Formerly it had Aspect: Arrant Pyromancer assigned, which usually wouldn't even appear. Heart of the Hunter amulet (quest reward for Hunting Fever 2) now has its missing second bonus (Regeneration Time -X%). This bonus was already scripted but it will only appear on unique items, while the amulet was flagged as a rare item. So I simply increased the item tier to allow the bonus to spawn. The axes in the set Flesh Eaters' Implements now have improved base damage. Recurve Bows now have higher base damage than Long Bows. From Wikipedia: "A recurve bow stores more energy and delivers energy more efficiently than the equivalent straight-limbed bow, giving a greater amount of energy and speed to the arrow." They used to be in-between short bows and long bows. Now they're the premium damage-dealers. Ettolrahc Notwen's Recurve Bow is now classified as a Recurve Bow. "Opponent's Chance to Reflect: Close Combat -X%" modifier no longer appears on ranged weapons. Removed Block Chance: Knockback modifier from equipment because enemies no longer cause this effect. Replaced with Block Chance: Stun on uniques. Dragon Mage's combat arts, aspect regeneration, and aspect skills are now possible bonuses on most random items. This was a pretty egregious vanilla bug. Big thanks to jordan0422 who helped me list all the missing bonuses. Random Magic Staffs now have skill-unlockable bonuses based on the Magic Staff skill, just like other weapon classes. The skill "Magic Staffs" will now unlock: Normal: Casting Speed, Spell Intensity Magic: Block Chance: Combat Arts, Block Chance: Close Combat Rare: Chance to Halve Regeneration Time, Combat Art Range Magic Staffs now shoot ranged projectiles right from the start, even without the Magic Staffs skill. This fixes a serious exploit where a multi-hit weapon CA with staves could hit everything on screen (Darting Assault users, you know you're guilty).

  2. I have to say, I've loved logging in today and reading all the changes. Great work to you and the entire team Flix, past and present.

  3. Downloading Dmitriy's update now. I'm about to test this. If it looks ok, I guess my objections would evaporate, and this debate would become moot, and rune stacking will go ahead as an official feature of the CM Patch. I really appreciate all the feedback, and thanks to Gogo and Schot for making that big alert at the top of the forum. Really nice when the "Community" part of the CM Patch comes into play.

  4. Well, that clears up any doubts I had about this. , awesome work Dmitriy!

  5. Ladies and Gentlemen, the difficulty level filter is in. Stackable items will only stack if they are of the same difficulty, effectively removing property mismatch. Stacks have been increased to 99.

  6. Yes, Ice and Blood made several uniques and legendaries into "Crystal" weapons. The original models got relegated to random items. I restored most of the Fallen Angel designs in Diablo 2 Fallen. I am also restoring them in the upcoming "Enhanced Edition" mod I am developing simultaneously with the CM Patch. I had to a draw a line between Patch-worthy changes and "cool stuff I just want to do," the model reversions fell on the other side of that line. Much appreciated offer Steve, incidentally I've just finished picking the Fallen Angel files off of BrainMuncher. One thing of interest is the American global.res (game texts in the "locale" folder). As you know, Ice and Blood (and therefore Sacred 2 Gold) use the British texts, which had some notable differences. Might be nice to see what words the American version used.

  7. Indeed, Flix. We salute you for all of the hard work. I was wondering if you still needed the original (vanilla files) because I have the original discs in their original plastic holder. One thing that I liked in the vanilla game is the original weapons. It was in Ice and Blood that some of them took on a different appearance depending on the sort of additional damage they deal. The originals looked more realistic to me. I am aware that both types are available for download but the updated weapons have some nice additional features/modifiers. This is just a minor point of contention that it's hardly worth note. Nevertheless, if you need those discs for whatever purpose they may serve just let me know.

  8. For fun, I created a site wide announcement pointing to this topic to see if we can get more feedback... @Dragon Brother I looked but didn't see an option to remove your vote. I'll probably look around more. That should be an option!

  9. heilige sche.... is denn scho weihnachtn? XD can't wait for release, a really big "thank you" to all members of the CM Patch Team, current or former. Without you, Sacred 2 would be a lot less fun

  10. "The problem with today's world is that everyone believes they have the right to express their opinion AND have others listen to it. The correct statement of individual rights is that everyone has the right to an opinion, but crucially, that opinion can be roundly ignored and even made fun of, particularly if it is demonstratively nonsense." 16. So the potential cheating is no more? If so, then there's no harm in stacking runes and my "no" becomes a yes.

  17. It would be a nice feature. The problem with different runes up- or downgrading only appears when u change the difficulty AND u want to forge runes into your weapons/armor. So its really REALLY circumstantial. And u could always upgrade runes anyway at the rune guy. Ofc it would cost some gold, but gold isnt really a recource that matters in sacred. The only time it matters, is when u create a new char and need a mount. I also dont think, that many people forge runes, most will just increase the CA directly. And higher tier runes give the same +1 to the CA as lower runes do. So there should really be no problem. The change would reduce micromanagement and save time.

  19. Great. Simply great. Loving the daily highlights and can't wait for when the v160 will be released.

  20. I voted 'No'. Saving inventory space by stacking runes would have been great but it then brings something new and breaks some other things. Maybe you can keep that 'feature' for the 'Enhanced Edition'? Like said 'Fixing something that isn't broken'; it shouldn't come with the CM Patch.

  23. Feature request incoming! In order to exercise my post-crafting abilities to the fullest, I'm much in need of a plain text editor feature. One that shows just the raw text, without any formatting or code applied. Didn't realize how much I'd miss that little "eye-con"!

  24. Yeah, see that's the thing. Where could I put that? I could put it in a loading screen tip, of which there are hundreds. The player may never see it there, especially since the new memory-flushing protocol we implemented now skips the loading screens oftentimes (sorry folks). I feel like someone should be able to read the official manual and/or years of Sacred 2 documentation on the web and not have it contradict the CM Patch. I think some players will feel blindsided by it, regardless of whether or not they ultimately would be agreeable to the change.

  26. @dimitrius154 Thanks for clarifying! I can understand the concern regarding the exploit of this feature and was totally on board with the fact that that would be wrong... Until I remembered that we actually provide chests full of runes as downloads. So for me the concern of exploit is no issue. People can download runes to their hearts content if they want. The fact that we can download runes may also make the possibility of high level runes turning into low level runes when stacking a non issue. Maybe? I'm having greater and greater difficulty finding a reason to vote no but won't vote until I feel confident in a choice.

  27. I voted against mainly for the potential (albeit minor) cheating feature of upgrading stack of runes. IMO this is not something that should be introduced by a patch so widely spread and whose main goal is restoring content.

  28. I still maintain my neutral stance, hence not voting yay or nay because I can see both situations being both helpful and harmful at the same time. When in doubt leave it as is I'd say.

  29. I think reading through the above discussion and thinking more about it I'm leaning more towards leaving the functionality as is. This is mostly because, as has been pointed out, the change is only to reduce inventory clutter whereas the side effects impact the base functionality of the game. "If it isn't broken, don't fix it" springs to mind, runes not stacking isn't a bug, and ultimately I don't recall it ever being more than a minor nuisance. However, in saying that, there are people still playing the game regularly, unlike myself, for whom this may be an issue so I completely understand if the end result is to implement this change. Regardless of what is implemented I (and I'm sure many others here) do appreciate the opportunity given to the community to provide their input onto shaping the continued direction of the CM patch, so thank you to the team. PS: Flix, I don't think I can update my response to the poll so you'll just have to remember that I'm now voting the other way.

  30. Ok, so I think this is what I would end up doing if rune stacking was implemented with the knowledge that low level runes or stacks of runes would cause higher level same runes to be absorbed into a stack and adopt the lower level rune's stats. Upon entering a higher server level I would either immediately sell my runes/stacks, store them in my chest or upgrade them. This would become a routine for me. Do I have the general logic correct? Could you not filter more specifically though? So that bronze runes only stack with bronze, etc?
    1 point
  31. Hmm if you can stack runes could you stack other items or increase the number of a stack? It would be great if potions were 99 instead of 20.. I like the idea but only if the runes are an exact match stats. If it could be done for any item that would also be nice

  32. A delicious read this morning on the way to work. Love the fact we dont have to re apply buffs like battle stance over and over. That was a pain when partying. We needed those buffs against dragons when we were team raiding, and we've had malfortunes happen to members gogo

  33. All this sounds great! Can't wait! First I just have to stop procrastinating for long enough to reinstall the game since it's apparently broken now for some reason:) The "Sacred 2 - game Server" app crashes, even in singleplayer, and it doesnt let me play theres a big and a sacred-sized hole in my heart

  34. I just ctrl-click to sell them so I guess I've never had a problem with clutter
