  1. Zinsho, what do you think is better for having the order ready for us in advance if getting it locally. Futureshop or EB? I love going to EB....they're a smaller computer store, and more homey. But I really want to make sure I get the release asap...*sigh*... You planning on putting in an advance order at futureshop? gogo p.s. looking at 12game.com now, 501105...planning on getting a local AND an import to complete my collection.
  2. Interesting 501105, why is that important to you? Actually, the Guildwars extras were a good number of extra stuff...but the thing I came to appreciate the most was the cool limited edition pet we got with the CE version. gogo
  3. Desks like that are great...you've got the edges to which you can add extensions or tables. The table extensions usually aren't that much more, just get the top part with no extra drawers and you'll just "feel" more like a king May I ask what kind of wood it's made from? The carpenter looks like he's good at his craft. Bet you're scared of that first scratch huh gogo
  4. For your birthday, may you have lots and lots of bandwidth Hope this day treats you well, and for a birthday treat, how's about signing up for Requiem ^^ Cheers! gogo
  5. I'll definitely hand it to hellgate for that. The idea, as lllama mentionned, of london being invaded, with super sorcery and science called into battle is an amazing story line. Their site was top notch, the number of weapons incredible. Alas...execution... gogo
  6. Ugh With Sympatico squeezing us for every dollar it seems, it looks like I've got to keep an eye on bandwidth. Anyone got any info on a decent meter/utility for doing this? Thanks gogo
  7. Ice queen, rice queen...blah Let her stand up against this.... Thermal Lance! we wants for Christmas gogo
  8. Just a little while longer, Undone, then the exams are over right? Keep strong, my friend...end's in sight ^^ Tomi... bile...wc..ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww gogo
  9. wow, gorgeous! lol, like a pic from an ikea catalogue ^^ I love desks Tomi. It took me years before I was able to decide upon how I wanted my desk to be in my room. One of my friends had a very long table from japan in dark wood, heavy and ornate. I knew from that moment that was what I wanted. Just a very long table ,that I could zip my chair along it's length with. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I think desks are so important. We spend a lot of time at them, and want to be productive. Anything that's too short, or just turns us off is another reason not to do homework, or catch up on taxes on. Your desk has that extra touch, with the story of your and your dad going so far away to have the carpenter build it, and with your ideas. The curve is elegant, color and finish sharp. Enjoy the productivity. gogo
  10. This is a question that's interested me for a while now. How do today's families cope with the explosion of video games in every day life, and how does this impact a family trying to raise kids? When I was growing up, we used to have a once a while time with my parents, with scrabble, monopoly or Careers. The games were deep, the fun raised itself to yelling matches, and we'd feel good after walking away trying to duke it out against parents or siblings. I'm just curious at to how families these days plan "together" time. If parents are playing video games themselves, do they purposely choose games they know their kids can join in with...sort of like a family clan? I'm thinking the opportunities here could be fantastic. However, I'm also thinking that if parents are playing one thing, and the kids are playing something else...could a gap be created with everyone in the family turning into their own "stream" after school and work...how do you keep the togetherness going today? I know here on this site, we have a good number of families, I'm wondering if these questions are already coming up, and if frustrations arise, or, because of good planning, things are going as well as in my day...but with different tools. Should every member of the family be entitled to their own computer? Isn't that kind of expensive? How about one computer for the entire family to use... does everyone have planned times on when to use it? Would there be a weekly Monopoly being played on it? ^^ One of my friends has his entire family playing WOW. It must be interesting to actually interact with your kids on line...how does that work out? lol, do you have to chastise or punish for bad behaviour in the game? Hoping to see some interesting responses here. I'm sure that games are here to stay, and it seems like families are as well. Fascinating to see how today's family deals with all this. Cheers! gogo
  11. Aspect: Celestial Magic Instill Belief Chance to convert the target and nearby opponents into allies for a brief period. Has no effect on boss enemies. The Seraphim is a fast, elegant and acrobatic warrior from a mystical, technological future. She fights with light to medium weapons and, if required, with massive technological support. The Seraphim were once chosen by the Gods to protect Ancaria from danger and disaster. Having followed their calling for eons, the Seraphim began to lose interest in protecting the world from chaos. Their own needs moved more and more to the forefront. Today, only a few remember their vocation and continue to battle for peace and justice. The player has the opportunity to lead one of these creatures through the mysterious world of Ancaria. The Seraphim is able to wear heavy and technical armor while maintaining her speed and elegance. What would an angel be without wings? The most striking feature of the Seraphim is her wings, which serve her as a deadly weapon but also as protective armor. 12. Question If we don't play the game Windowed, and we press the Window key... does it take more resources to jump the game out of game mode and let us use the comp? I'm just wondering if it's necessary to actually play the game in windowed to actually make it get out of game mode. I've tried it a few times with games now, and it seems to work... but not as easily as if it were chosen to play in windows mode first. gogo
  13. lol, I'm wondering if he was hired to only do beginning narative gogo
  14. NYC's not run when it's hot, Locutus. I spent a few summers there with relatives, and the humidity takes you by surprise. Can you say smother? Tomi, here's a gift for da doggee gogo
  15. lol, locutus... natural born diplomat It's an impressive target though gogo p.s. as well, perhaps it bears mentionning, that the only peeps that can see the section that Anestty posted in are him, Firefly, Arianna, ankhannu and our clan.
  16. The great thing about this movie is that it's a mystery. It's got a pretty involving story line that takes place in an alternate time line close to ours. We have the "masks" non-powered humans, who go around being vigilantes. And of course, our Dr. Manhattan. He's pretty powerful, and I always was fascinated by the powerplay between those with normal human powers and the only one that was super powered. Check out the final scene in the trailer where he raises his city from the sands. Astounding. gogo
  17. I think the trailer's pretty cool. I'm a huge fan, and the trek universe is a part of my growingupness. I'm just wondering who's going to be in this one. Mom, lol... sorry, but Sisko was never one of my favorite peeps... dunno what it was about him...maybe the self-important way of speaking he had.... heh, I never could take him seriously. Do you guy think the captain from Enterprise, the series, will be in this one? gogo
  18. Can you send one of those ponds this way TRD? It's pretty humid here, been that way for the last few days, with weird showers right while it's sunning. gogo
  19. I was just reading about the extra goodies you got with Guild Wars releases. http://pc.gamezone.com/gzreviews/r25751.htm "The gameplay is the same and you do get a “divine aura” (favor of the gods, apparently other players can see it) for having the Collector’s Edition, but what is also included for the $30 extra are a few pretty cool items. There is a 128-page hardcover book that shows the Art of Guild Wars, including paper dolls of the classes and the concept art that evolved into the mobs and settings for the game. There is also a Guild Wars headset, with the headphones that hook around the back of the head and over the ears (for comfort) and a microphone (the Internet Chat Headset, made by Logitech and complete with a GW logo), along with a three-month subscription to Speakeasy-hosted Teamspeak service. And there is one more little goody in the box – a CD of the Guild Wars soundtrack featuring 28 of the themes created by British Academy Award winner Jeremy Soule. Do not expect anything that gives a distinct in-game advantage (well, the headset and Teamspeak is very good stuff for PvP-team combat), but relish, rather, in the added materials." I had actually bought the collector's edition from Blue Rookie, here on this site...and got an awesome pet...a k... something or other, muhahah...it's supposed to be one of the most valuable pets in the game now, as it was only released once, with the CE edition. It didn't really make your toon any stronger, more of a vanity thing...but boy is it ever cool to have fly around in towns. Stuff like that is awesome, and even an Aura would be cool as well. In game items like this, carefully chosen not to give ingame advantage but more of a vanity thing would be a definite buy for Sacred 2...specially as Guild Wars has paved the way with their handsome Collector's Edition Boxes. gogo
  20. From Lazy Gamer: The Highscore Ladder - Sacred 2 July 14th, 2008 Guest Writer Posted in Xbox 360, PS3, General News, PC Gaming | 94 views Torsten Allard explains design and backgrounds The great thing about gaming is that players get to compete with each other and compare skills. The principle may not work equally well for all games (it is less practical in adventures, for instance), but basically this is a feature that gives you added motivation. We are going to make sure that it will add to gamers’ motivation in Sacred, and especially in Sacred 2. Reaching the top with your character is a really good feeling – all the more so when others can see you up there! That is why the ladder system used for Sacred 1 was pretty widely accepted. However, the ladder was a bit rudimentary then, and we can definitely do better in Sacred 2. Let me tell you about the improvements we made, because they will soon become an extended part of the game through the Sacred 2 website.. Well, just as with Sacred 1, highscores in the Sacred 2 ladder will, by default, be sorted by ladder points. A player’s ladder points largely depend on his or her experience, but other aspects such as kills, deaths (negative factor), exploration progress etc. will also influence the result. However, the million dollar question is how to weight each of those factors. On that point, opinions differ dramatically, with some considering “kills” to be pretty insignificant, while others hold that the player’s progress exploring the world is of no importance. These different assessments are obviously largely due to the different approaches and goals pursued by various gamers. Basically, there are four types: 1. The “speed leveler”: This gamer wants to get to the top in as little time as possible. Experience points and the time played are what matters most to this type of gamer, whereas exploration of the game world is usually rock bottom on their list of priorities. 2. The “killer”: A gamer who aims to kill as many NPCs as possible, or maybe only certain classes of enemies. For this type of gamer, the number of kills is the most important criterion, while experience points and deaths are also of interest. 3. The “explorer”: These gamers want to see as much of the world as possible. They aim to uncover the entire game world if they can, and complete every quest there is. Experience points are a bonus, but not really all that important – and kills are totally insignificant. 4. The “all-rounder”: Everything is more or less equally important to gamers of this type, but experience points are what they cherish most. By default, the ladder will be sorted by this player type.
