  1. Belial ate my level 27 wizard when I almost killed him I had about 2200 hitpoints. I'll try to get more vitality next time...
  2. Yeah, it has been suggested that hc should be avoided for now, because this lack of balance will kill you sooner or later I've been happily ignoring the suggestion, and my death toll has been three toons so far
  3. If gold drops are anything like D2, we'll be seeing piles of 5-10k per champion monster in later difficulties
  4. The flaw in your calculation is that you won't upgrade gems 14 levels That's like trying to cube a Zod from El runes... Better gems will be dropping, and the auction house makes then extremely easy to find. You can combine those Oh, and I'll play primarily hardcore, and some softcore just because not all my friends play hardcore :cha (18):
  5. You can bind a "Move" function to one of your keys, and pressing the key will make the character run towards the mouse cursor without clicking to move. This is an awesome feature that might not be obvious, and it should be done asap Looking back at D2, I can't believe we played without it It is useful because it lets you run closer to enemies without clicking on them, or without trying to pick up items in the middle of a fight - very annoying and dangerous.
  6. I can't imagine how you expect to play both Maybe D3 until GW2 comes out...
  7. I'm seriously considering getting it. Depends on the final state of the game I guess.
  8. It could have been a PvP bonus. You get large bonuses for being mounted, so dismounting you could be useful for your opponent.
  9. Survival bonus is somehow calculated based on the amount of time spent in combat. So basically the game takes that time and puts it in some formula. You can increase the UBpivot value in the balance file, it will adjust one of the variables in that formula and bump your survival bonus. So it'll basically need less time to get a 100% bonus. If you really must do it that way...
  10. This is sad indeed Have they mentioned anything about the online activation future of Sacred 2? I hope the activation servers aren't going to be shut down without removing the DRM...
  11. If I remember correctly, item bonuses don't change based on character level (they are only generated based on it, or on the level of monster). The bonuses only change if you switch the current difficulty (only for some bonuses such as Serious Open Wounds), or when you increase a skill level (only for modifiable bonuses). Are you sure you hadn't switched a difficulty before looking at that shield for the second time?
  12. Beardless dwarves... they look kinda naked Maybe they'll grow beards until the release though.
  13. As a first character... In my opinion you'd have the most fun with a softcore build similar to the following: Exalted Warrior Focus Sword Weapons Tactics Lore Dual Wield Armour Lore Constitution Toughness Concentration Revered Technology Lore Revered Technology Focus The idea is to experience the most aspects and challenges of the game. The importance of unlocking item modifiers is very subjective, so having Sword Weapons in the mix will let you see whether it's worth it. You'll be able to fully utilize any sword that drops, and experiment with various weapon styles. Three purely defensive skills will give you lots of survivability. A small portion of skill points in Warding Energy will give you even more survivability, plus all the fun that comes with the the additional set of Combat Arts. I intentionally left out the spoiler skills like Enhanced Perception and Bargaining. Without them, every item will be worth picking up, and every unique drop will be like a Christmas-level event It will be more challenging than many experienced players are used to, because the cool stuff they have multiple stashes of won't be there Strength/Vitality is a nice attribute couple for that build.
  14. The game calls it Hitpoints and Hitpoint Regeneration, so do we have to reinvent the wheel? We can use Health as a general term, and Hitpoints where it gets technical. So we can say that "Health of the characters is measured in hitpoints, etc etc" and stuff ike that.
  15. Hmm this must be an Ice&Blood or CM feature, it doesn't work like that on vanilla game
  16. There are several things that are wrong with D3, this is one of them. Another is region locks, remember how you couldn't play with your Sacred 2 friends across the globe? Absolutely not true There are plenty of viable builds, and they work fine without uber gear. Of course, if your definition of "viable" means pwning everything on the screen with minimal effort...
  17. I was looking at the pics again and decided to bump this. So much fun here
  18. Seraphim is an all-around class, with decent (but not best) offense and defense capabilities. Easy to plan and use, suitable for beginners. Other classes are more advanced, some do more damage, some have more tanking abilities. They are harder to play though, due to their special combat arts or available skills. Dryads are definitely doing more damage than is good for them, Shadow Warriors can tank much better than you describe (maybe when your son learns more about them) etc etc
  19. Nice set However, that jumping Drizzt is just asking for a crossbow bolt +1 into his guts
  20. Ok now I feel dumb... why walk so far when you can just walk a small distance and see how it compares to the same distance on the map?
