  1. I was waiting for someone to figure it out. I've found at lower levels trading is less effective than in Sacred 2 - just my opinion - maybe I hadn't shopped for long enough at lower levels. It seems for me to kick in around level 50, 60. Amulets with trading have a certain wafer like look. It's hard to explain but you'll notice a pattern. Rings with +skills can have any appearance. The items on offer from a merchant change when you visit another merchant so Porto Vallum there's a quest to rescue a merchant in a nearby cave and at Braverock there's aquest when completed that gives you a 2nd merchant that stands next to another one. When you go between them they have new reset items. Sacredwiki should have the locations if you are stuck. You can't buy uniques or set items. Nor get green sockets. Rings and amulets are what you want - esp. with +Combat art. Try get chest pieces with 4 sockets for your trading suit. At Silver the max +trading you can get is +3. You can if you are real lucky get +skills and +trading on same amulet. There are some items like a single handed staff with 4 sockets and + %magic damage for a battle mage that beat set items. Hope that helps.
  2. This also means amulets with +skills and +armour lore is pretty handy to squeeze out extra % for damage mitigation and -% detrimental magic effects. I'd set aside a few thinking they weren't high priority.
  3. Very interesting. Explains something recent I found with damage mitigation. seraphim shopper found a chest piece with 23% all channel damage mitigation (only one silver socket unf.). Pretty happy, except when I played next (without all the +skills) the same piece was only 19%.
  4. Glaurungs Head wasn't on the wiki - found it here http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?/topic/21671-new-uniques-and-legendaries-brainstorming/page-10 Good stats - but the armour bonus seems like overkill TBH (Ancient bark is way overpowered as it is) alas I play Fallen Angel - I'll eventually play the CM patch - I figure UnBended won't be out for a couple of years The thing is if the shrunken head behaves like the other yellow dragon heads, then I would probably stick with the Scorp'. The scorpion hits twice, and seems a bit more aggressive. The Minotaur is great but a tad slow in comparison and dragons are fickle in how they attack. They'll wander around then suddenly sprint over - a couple of seconds later than you wanted them too.
  5. Finally got a gold scorpion head! The double hits are awesome. No deathblow but got bonuses to vitality, defence and +10 totem. Also thought for some reason damage x - x rings helped totem but not so.
  6. Gotten up to level 107 in Fallen angel. Doing fine (mastered 4 skills) but foolishly neglected nature focus. Ate about 270 Acute mind runes yet its only around level 75 ;( Still yet to get the elusive Gold scorp head, alot of grinding ahead.
  7. I wasn't sure if I should make a new thread for this but I found what may be the highest gold from selling an item. Niob dryad had the 2 guitars from the blind guardian quest, sold one for a million, the other for 1.5 million (was around level 100 or so). Might be trivia as you can get lots of gold grinding but for a low level character selling something from the shared chest it may be the highest return.
  8. Just gonna add that Tinworas IMO are probably better than Officers sabres in Fallen angel. Reason is that the -% regen time gold mod is huge at higher levels (much more than what you'll find on jewellery) and with no RPH its hard to get regen times down once you have got points in focus skills and concentration (diminshing returns). Just my opinion. Also testas annihilater is (like Dobri said) under rated but it is best utilised by the inquisitor. PC buff modded for fire, frenetic fervour for attack value, mortifying pillory for poison damage, callous execution modded for stun. Ruthless mutilation even with 3 shots is great. Running one now with testas and 100% chance to halve regen. In niob, level 110 and doing well. Much better than what I thought only 2 sockets could do. Also quick note RE khandars slicers. Versatile for all melee characters but seraphim utilises it really well pre niob and platinum. Combine dual weild along with hallowed restoration recuperating mod along with some of her set items ( e.g Celestial blessing) and she can carve up mobs pretty quickly. Again I know the ratings are not for individual classes, just adding some who can really utilise them.
  9. Not sure why you deleted your first post here, I thought chattius would reply. I think you were asking about how he got so much damage from skeletal towers. I would put it down to astral lord and ancient magic mastery, damage x-x rings (50-50 at really high levels), blacksmith maxed whet, and regen per hit.
  10. Your playing Fallen Angel not the expansion right? Expansion nerfed +skills from what I've read so one good thing is that if you shop long enogh you can find double stacked plus skills amulets (at level 42 maybe +8? skills). Agree with the above post that you should aim for 3x your level. I have a surplus of Officers sabres (3 gold sockets) so I use them. If you don't have any or you wanna save it for non bargaining purposes try and get a 2 silver slot weapon with +skills. I try and use rings that have something like +skills and unseat opponent or pacifism, run speed (something I won't really miss). I mostly look for jewelry that has combinations of deathblow, damage x-x, opponent chance to evade -%, combat arts that even other characters can use. If I'm going to the swamp I try to get amulets with DOT reduction or a belt with 2 sockets and extra HP. That's a simple rundown as in Niobium I shop for things like damage miti, chance to halve regen%, etc ....
  11. Chattius is probably the only one to positively mention alchemy. You could do a search of his name + alchemy to get a full analysis. I've only used it on a couple of builds. One was chronas dryad build with alchemy instead of EP (at level 86). The greatest positive is for evasion - having reflexes to reduce crits, dust devils and talism trophies. Yellow potion effects were boosted as well as mentors - so farming swamp and orc cave for xp was great. Nature Lore wasn't picked so ancient bark armour boost wasn't as high but iron ore trophies before boss fights helped. The thing is you won't have much points in alchemy without having +skill items, things like bargaining, tactics and constitution are higher priority. So I wouldn't use it as a beginner, most dryad players take EP 5 points to unlock bargaining. Your call. If you do and don't like it you could leave it as a mid level bargainer.
  12. Just to be clear, Regen per hit doesn't work for Fallen Angel. So melee builds that mention it are Ice & Blood builds.
  13. I'm probably one of the few people on the forum not playing the expansion. The major differences are that in the expansion +skills have been nerfed, Regen per hit works and deathblow doesn't work for spells. Stamina has less effect iirc. There are more items too. You can also check the date of the posts. Some mention if they are fallen angel or expansion.
  14. Gotten to level 60 in UW. Vehemance at around 16k damage with some sockets free. I'm thinking of putting points in strength instead of physical regen. Strength increases fire damage iirc and there are some good items with fire damage boosts (e.g thodrans set items). Plus fire damage on rings is easier to find if you haven't picked trading. And like the gladiator there are some good items/jewelry with % strength modifiers. Build is pretty fun - might use mortar or cannon blast as well. Attack level needs to be high, sucks to miss and wait to use vehemence again. Geuss I need to use war cry too.
  15. If you have Aarnums sword and the full set I'd recommend using therions death from above build (thats if you haven't gone too far with the current build). Truly amazing damage, and probably one of the best mob killers in the game. Easy to find RSM on gear, and kleb dracads mending at level 67 gives +33% experience. Just a thought if you want to play a less passive build. Seems a waste to not make full use of an Aarnums sword.
  16. Stumbled upon this elsewhere and the trailers look amazing. Looks to have a bit in common with D3 The arcana and warlord classes look good, impaling looks like fun
  17. @ nomad13 I always pick constitution. Energy shield characters can get away with it. The inquisitor gets good physical damage mitigation on his gear so with spell resistance and toughness you don't need reflexes. Also you want to put points into toughness and armour lore (mastery for unlocking damage mitigation). With damage mitigation you go all in. Points in reflexes will be wasted IMO. Plus with constitution picked you can go 1; 1 vitality and intelligence. If you do skip constitution get a belt with + HP and an amulet or two with + HP and vitality. btw I usually pick hallow on PC Buff - works well with mystic mod if using levin array.
  18. Wiki has heroic courage with the full set. Does that mean you have constant HC? Never found a full set but the bonuses and sockets look good - has a bit of everything.
  19. DS is good if you use % split but yeah, its hard to have DS and heroic courage together. I use a combo of bothe and ALOT of yellow potions. If you wanna try something different maybe you could use Awe, and 2H axe weapon toss, multi hit plus stomps? (Stomps are pretty good vs mobs - the stun is great) Dalmars set has chance to gain gold hitting opponent % - maybe combine it with damage recieved reduces gold %? I can't really play online - I only have Wi-fi where I am now - sorry. btw - the original question - testosterone increases a dark elfs poison damage (weapons or PM) so if that player has pumped alot of runes and has good poison damage gear he's gonna have massive damage. I forgot about it till a couple of days ago.
  20. If you don't have axe lore and you don't use heroic courage you attack % is going to be REALLY low. You need at least one. I was fighting the ice dragons without using heroic courage - even with axe lore my hit chance was only 10%! I didn't notice it till after I killed them (took ages). Your right in that after gold difficulty you see how good your build is. I think the gladiator needs really good gear compared to other characters. RE - Defence Try using trading instead of parry. You can get amulets with high defence if you shop for them. Add in heroic courage and agility and your defence should be OK. Also the gladiator has set items with really high Life leech%. The skills I picked are Axe Lore, dual weild, armour, concentration, Constitution, agility, trading and weapon lore. Trading will give you gear with hard hard & +combat arts so you don't have to eat as many runes and if you use combos you can make suits with really high dagger stare and heroic courage then swap them out. Just make sure to have yellow potions handy. EDIT - Roosters guide has both parry and trade - I thought it had axe lore and dual weild but no trading. I think you can make a good build without axe lore but you need really high HC. I choose Axe lore because I had never gotten full faldamars set before.
  21. Also players on servers are most likely to be using trading skill or have optimum gear/set items. Item bonuses in platinum and niob are pretty high.
  22. Sorry for the late reply. I've got a level 100 gladiator, dual weild, axe lore and trading. For my fire axes I've got hard hit at level 49 doing 40 to 65k damage with 42% crit but high regen at 1.9 sec My other weapons (poison, magic) do a bit less, around 30 - 45K. Your hard hit damage seems low. Weapon lore should be much higher, mine is 124 - could be higher but I've been putting points into trading. Your damage problems might be due to your weapons being low level ( even weapons with good bonuses and sockets can have low base damage), no plus hard hit and not enough regen special move. Try and get weapons with %strength mod and rings with damage boosts and weapon lore. I've been following Roosters guide and trying to have weapons for each region (e.g. thains axe and feacs hammer vs undead). Using elemental damage is important for a gladiator as doesn't have anything like ghost meadow or infernal power to pump really high. Hope it helps. EDIT - looking at my bonuses I've got +22 to hard hit from gear. I hadn't played this build for at least ayear so I don't know why I ate so many runes. At level 100 or so a gladiator should be doing at least 20 to 25K damage from hard hit IMO, you should be able to get 10 - 12 hard hit levels from gear too even without trading.
  23. Playing this build now. In platinum, level 100 still yet to pick last skill. LS doing 8.5k damage using ring of ice too. Might go with earth magic as last skill.
