  1. I would tend to agree. However, the Sacred Gold package I have came as a 2 part installer - one for the basic Fallen Angel, the other for Ice and Blood - and the patches weren't included... Not entirely sure how it's distributed these days. Hence the long winded description..
  2. Hmmmm.. Yeh.. I'm not thinking this would be much in the way of a good thing either. Just because it CAN be done in theory doesn't make it something that would be fun. Or worth the effort.. While tablets have gotten faster, I have yet to see any Android tablet that could handle something like Sacred Underworld - and do it in such a way that the experience doesn't look like a slide show. HoMM3 might work out ok - there IS an actual Android version of the game that was released some months ago according to Wikipedia. (maybe another reason why the project was abandoned). If memory serves - HoMM3 is a turn based game without any real time combat and as such would be less of a load on the tablet than something like Sacred - which is all real time combat. HoMM3 for Android can be gotten from Google Play at this link... Mind you, HoMM3 for Android doesn't include the expansion packs. According to the company, Ubisoft, the source code for the expansion packs was lost...
  3. It's really easy to spot the US vs UK (Int) version.. The US version was released by CDV and as such, has the CDV logo when you start the game. The UK version came from Deep Silver (this was, mind you, before Ascaron went bust and DS bought them out.) and sports the Deep Silver logo on start up. The other way to spot the difference.. Look in C:\Program Files\..
  4. That would largely depend on if it's the UK (international version) or the US version. Somehow doubt they'd be releasing the US version in downloadable format at this stage. The CM Patch requires a fully installed and patched Sacred 2 Gold.. This would include Fallen Angel as well as the Ice and Blood expansion AND all of the relevant patches that may apply. Assuming the downloadable package has all of these included in the package. As far as the saved games go... They should be just fine under Ice and Blood and with the CM Patch - but keep in mind two things. 1.) Ice and Blood nerfed a LOT of gear stats. Stuff that had Life Leech, for instance, had that stat cut in half. 2.) The CM Patch may also have an effect on gear and definitely has an effect on quests and their outcomes. As such, be sure to have a proper backup of those games - and your game chests if you ever feel the need to be nostalgic and want to reinstall the old Fallen Angel... They won't work once you've opened and saved the game under Ice And Blood and the CM Patch.
  5. Er.. Wherebouts is this scene? I can't for the life of me place the scene..
  6. And if you zoom in on the pic to the left of the TG, you'll see a scene that is reminiscent of the end scene from the Ewok villiage from Star Wars...
  7. The first inscription is now up.. DIE TELETUBBIES, DIE! ! ! Btw.. I could have sworn we had a page like this up once already. Ah well.
  8. At the moment, my character's gear is limited to what all I've been able to find. I've got a few bits of Pandora's set, a shield and shoulder guards from another and Aarnum's sword and one of the rings to socket into it - which I haven't done yet.
  9. For the most part, yeh.. It's awesome. but there are a few spots it doesn't quite work 100% as you might expect. 1.) DeMoreDreck's pet dragon. Fly out to one of the nearby islands using Soaring Daemon. Plant a Hellsphere and retreat a bit so the dragon doesn't blast you with fire. If you go too far, too fast - the dragon loses interest and the hellsphere doesn't attack. DOH.. So you gotta balance distance... 2.) The ice dragon near the air element just north of the Library.. Same sort of thing. Retreat back into the shelter where the element is kept after poppinig a hellsphere off outside to avoid getting crispified by dragon blast and the hellsphere may not engage the dragon, OR may wind up being blocked by a tree. Best spot to drop it is just beyond the gate. Then run back inside, past the 2nd door to avoid the flames. This will make it stop shooting the dragon, so you have to go back to the first doorway to let it do it's thing. Having Life Leech runes socketed in your gear is a must - Hellsphere will make use of this and will heal you AND you can see when the hellsphere fades away and it's time to send another one out... The other dragon up to this point isn't a problem. Just approach D'Cay, fire off a hellsphere and run around in circles = BIG circles.. until the hellsphere runs out.. Lather, rinse, repeat until dead.
  10. Been playing a Daemon of late. Gotten as far as the Fire element so far. I use Hellspheres liberally. I have gotten somewhat lucky so far - got a nice handweapon that had 15% Life Leech early on. At this point, I've kinda moved onto Arnum's big sword. The hell spheres are da bomb when it comes to dealing with dragons. Fire one off and back away and let it do its thing. Lather, Rinse Repeat until the big lizard's toast... Seraphim: I played this through a few times. It's not really that hard. I used Energy Bolts liberally. The BFG in this game is kind of a joke. Big ol' honkin' gun but the shots are so slow, you can outrun them (enemies frequently do just that.) Wood Elf: I kinda got bored playing this one. But ,ye, I recall using most of the same skills.
  11. Actually, I understood perfectly. I never try to do anything that will allow Spammers an extra place to spread their filth. That includes dummy emails addresses that are only there to collect spam. Having some place they can send things to just gives them encouragement. What I want to do is send a return email EMP that melts their computer. Well... OK.. I can see your point to a degree, but in reality, like it or not, it's here to stay. The only way we can give them NO targets to send their crap is to not have email of any sort. Period. And that, in this day and age is NOT happening. Email is just too useful, So, the only way to deal with it is to delete it. Be careful where you aim that Email EMP... The computer you aim it at may be your own. Taking over computers for the purpose of spam delivery IS a popular activity for the various d-bags out there.
  12. LOL I think you misunderstood.. The purpose of the 2nd account is so you have an email address you can give out to sites that are likely to spam you - leaving your regular email account free and clear of the stuff. Seriously.... I doubt that anyone really LIKES or approves of spam except maybe spammers - and only then if they're the ones sending the stuff out. FWIW, I have one such account and use it for facebook as well. I log in once a week or so and dump the spam and what not from it.
  13. BTW.... The latest patches for Sacred and Underworld are available HERE in the download's section.
  14. TWICE even.. Once in Sacred and once in Sacred 2.
  15. I'm not sure if anyone else found this... BUT... There's an employee hiding in plain sight in Sacred Underworld. Seems to me the name in question is suspiciously similar to Anca Adelina Finta, the employee found in Thylysium proper. I mean - Anacala da Andelina FIntaria... Too similar... The pic above is the lady requesting your aid in dealing with a judge and a thug in the bar in Braverock Castle...
  16. LOL wolfie, you could not have said this better... typical sci fi schlock... how apt...and how, eeek, I seem compelled to ferret out this kind of stuff! gogo The problem with this - I think - is the caliber of acting they're getting. It comes off as being...plastic. It comes off as if the actors are phoning it in instead of being on the set and actually trying to make it believable. Or interesting. Take for instance, the characters from Stargate SG-1. The cast made the characters come alive. These guys... They have no passion. Even Zoie Palmer - the gal who previously played Lauren - the doctor from Lost Girl comes off as less than human. Granted, she plays an android, but still. Brent Spiner played Data - also an android - with much more engaging and interesting effect. I dunno.. if you want a wild and crazy pirate adventure - check out One Piece..
  17. OK.. So.. I suppose I should write a brief review of the story so far... As previously reported, it's a story about 6 people who wake up on a spaceship without any memory of who they are, but they have bad arse fighting skills. Turns out they're a bunch of pirates, smugglers, thieves, and other assorted lowlife. They also have an android - see the previous post. It seems they're not really the heartless thugs this galactic corporation that hired them to kill this bunch of miners on this planet where the asteroid belt around the planet that's loaded with ore the corporation wants. The miners, however, are non-aligned to any of the big galactic corporations. And, as such, they're in the way. So, the corporation sent these guys in there to wipe out the colony. In the 3rd episode, the members of the team, arrive at the planet in question. And yet, when they get there, they don't have any interest in wiping out a bunch of unarmed colonists. So, they decide to give the colonists part of their stockpile of weapons in order to give them a fighting chance. While down on the planet, the Big Bad corporation's dreadnoughts arrive in orbit and are kind of confused as to why these mercenaries haven't wiped out the colony. The Big Bads send a shuttle down to the planet to clean up their mess. The mercs, of course, wind up helping the miners out. All in all, the story so far, meh... It's typical SyFy schlock. it's not really all that compelling. It's weakly written. The only thing going for it are the special effects. But hey, I'm a bit jaded.. lol
  18. It seems the android from Dark Matter is in fact, the gal who plays (played?) Dr Lauren Lewis on Lost Girl
  19. Hold onto your socks people.. It's official! RWBY Series 3 is now in production! Read it here! Time to do a bit of a happy dance..! R W B Y
  20. Black substances... Immediately brings to mind things like heroin.. Black Tar..
  21. Not as yet.. but the first episode is available online.. And yes, there was - which is why I said SyFy has a fondness for the name Dark Matters. It was hosted by the crazy old guy from Fringe - John Noble. Dark Matters - Twisted But True lasted 2 seasons a few years ago.
  22. Seems SyFy has a fondness for the name of our favorite site... But not for the reasons why most of us come here. They have a new show on the tube called "Dark Matter" and it's about 6 apparent strangers who wake up on a space ship without a clue as to who they are. The page for the show can be found here
  23. Sure it does. The hard drive could be going bad. A fresh format MAY solve the problem temporarily, but will eventually fail again and they'll be back to square one. Any "back doors" that may be installed into a Lenovo will be software based - I.e. apps. And you can uninstall those without any issues. Most of those are kinda useless except maybe the one that runs the web cam - and the facial recognition thing. As far as issues with old favorites go - not sure which apps you'd be having a problem with. I think I already mentioned this but I'm running a copy of Paint Shop Pro 7 - which came out in 2001. Also got Warcraft III and the sequel Frozen Throne running on here without issue. The only program I did have a problem with was installing Office 2010 Starter. It wasn't originally supposed to work with Win 8.x but they later issued a patch. I had it installed until I got 2013. What cherished software do you mean?
  24. LOL Say no more.. All you had to say was "Packard Bell".. Packard Bell systems in the US had a seriously bad rep for being piece of crap. From Wikipedia: It goes on to say Packard Bell stopped selling PCs in the US in 2000. Back in the day, we computer savvy people used to call them Pukard Hells. Sounds like in the last 15 years, not much has changed.. They still suck.. Anyhow.. For the money you spent on that kind of system, you can probably build your own desktop OR you can simply buy a slightly used refurbished laptop like the one I've got here. It set me back about $265 USD and positively rocks. It's a Lenovo (formerly IBM) 15.6" laptop with touch screen, 6 GB of RAM, 500 GB hard drive and Windows 8.1. Been using it since Christmas 2014 and works like a charm.
