Very nice Claire! I have a picture of our tree, which I'll post later.
In my family we always bought our tree in early December and put it up and decorated it on Christmas Eve. That way we'd have it well into January when it is all cold and depressing. My wife's birthday is in the beginning of December, so in her family they always put the tree up on the weekend closest to her birthday. That is what we did this year, and we'll probably leave it up until the first weekend in January.
The cats have already had a go at the tree, pulling almost half the lights off as well as a dozen ornaments. They also really enjoy drinking the water. <sigh>

Just watch out after the starts drinking, don't want to get trampled.
I'll take two fingers of milk, please.

Hey Kiki, welcome to DarkMatters! It is good to see you here. I see you on the HoF boards quite frequently, and I think I actually ran across one of your planets recently.
Look around, enjoy the lovely smilies (including the special Ike smilie - that is how you know the place is a class establishment!), and watch out for the green faerie who hangs out under the Bar.

I just saw this on the oof, HOLY ©®@Þ!
The Uni has certainly become a lot more interesting over the last couple months!
I'd guess by the numbers that Sirini had a moon of about 4900, and Sercan used 2 / 2 / 6 RIPs.

New Year's has always been a fairly low-key holiday for me, although lots of people in the US do a lot of partying. Traditionally, I have sat around at home watching DVDs with friends, and falling asleep, usually long before midnight. For the last few years my wife and I have traveled to my in-laws, run a 5K in the evening, and then gone to the "First Night" celebrations -- including ice sculptures, ice skating, and stuff.
I lived 40 miles (65 km) from New York City for a long time, and never made it down to Times Square. Too many people.
I suspect no oGame for me, wife would not be too pleased, and my online times would be too unpredicatable to keep my fleet safe.

Now THAT is what a goodbye hit is supposed to look like! Check out the bomber and destroyer numbers <shivers>.

Thanks. I'm increasing a lot of ship counts right now. Got shipyards on 5 planets producing as fast as they can. RIP #11 just showed up and # 12 will be here in a few days. I'm increasing bombers to 100, recyclers to 1500, and rebuilding LFs. I may get more HF one of these days, I just don't know. Decisions, decisions.
And I put aside res to get a Nanite on one last planet, as soon as it stops building ships.

They come for the cool smilies, but they stay for the good company.

December is here,
Cold wind blows the falling snow,
Online, it is warm.
Holidays approach,
But all I want for Christmas
Is more battleships!
