  1. Hi, going along with the storyline and fact that inquisitors can't equip shields, does that make equipments that have the 'Block Chance: ____ ' modifier useless for the inquisitor and we should avoid such equipments? I ask also because there is a set item (Bloodrobe of Determined Justice) for inquisitor that have such a mod. Is that an error or can the inquisitor still be able to block certain kinds of attack? Thanks
  2. Hi Solomon, in your experience, do modifiers such as +Dblow% or +damage% works against you as well when Paralyzing Dread is on? Or is it just the mods that affects the enemy (-enemy chance to evade)? How about activating the CA Mortifying Pilary which has been modded to reduce the enemy's armor and defence value (ie. 'Disgrace' and 'Mortify' mod) together with Paralyzing Dread? Will PD also cause MP mods to affect you or is it only exclusive to the bonuses on your armor?
  3. Thanks for the advise. I tried doing it on the orcs but found it difficult to track the difference in damage so I attempted it on the Kral Winged Demon instead. Again, I didn't see a difference, is Kral another boss with a damage mitigation shield? Just some figures: Without 'Devastation' mod = 4462-5541 damage indicated (8925-11083 when DBlow kicked in) With 'Devastation' mod = 4462-5541 damage indicated (8925-11083 when DBlow kicked in) No higher amount of damage was noticed throughout the killing process. Makes me wonder if it is really working for the console version.
  4. Hi, does anyone know if the modifier "Chance for critical hits" work for non-weapon based CAs on the consoles? I asked as I took the 'Devastation' mod for Incendiary Shower and saw no increase in damage at all as I fought the NGs (tested with a pre- and post-devastation Inc. Show). Is this modifier bugged for the non-weapon CAs (e.g., IS, Glacier Thorns, Tangled Vine, etc) but is working for the weapon-based CAs (e.g., pelting strikes, archangel wrath, ruthless mutilation, etc) on the consoles? Greatly appreciate some advice. Thanks.
  5. Kira's Wall was added into the game with Ice and Blood, so no it does not drop on consoles. Amazing shield piece though, has one of the worst drop rates on PC gameplay. Hi Ryan, thanks for confirming Kira's exclusiveness to the PC version. It's a pity console did not receive an expansion for us to further enjoy the game. I understand Kira has extremely low drop rate, but at least you are assured of its presence and be motivated to farm for it Have fun!
  6. Thanks for the info everyone. From what I gather it seems the kira wall drops for the PC only. I'm not sure if there is much incentive for console players to farm for lengendaries in this case. I'm still trying though in the hope that high level 3-star items such as Kaldur Legacy, Artamak's Star and Tanit's Collar would drop
  7. haha, it's no problem. I asked cuz I dont see a 'ice & blood' or 'CM patch' logo on the photo of Kira Wall on the wiki site, which made me think that there is a chance for it to drop on the consoles. It's a waste if it really doesnt drop on consoles. I feel that console Sacred players get short-changed alot on such goodies (including the ice n blood expansion).. Just curious, but how much value is there in farming the NGs for lengendaries for console players given the limited legendaries available, you think? I ask cuz only a handful of legendaries have been found by experienced console players and those found arent exactly in the same class as, for instance, Kira Wall, stats-wise. Also, my aim of farming the NGs is to obtain items/legendaries that have good stats, not just for collection or achievement sake, if you get what I'm saying
  8. http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sacred_2:Kira%27s_Wall This is one supreme piece of shield that should render most characters difficult to kill when equipped. Am wondering if this shield would drop for the consoles as well? If so, should I try farming it from the Nameless Guardians?
  9. Hi everyone, I'm wondering if the all-class set item Kira Wall (just the shield) can be found on the consoles as well or only on PCs? I'm thinking of farming the Nameless Guardians for it. Thanks.
  10. Alrighty, sounds like you know what you're doing, and I haven't really played in Niobium with the elf enough to give advice on how to make your toon survive against the NG's better. Mostly all I remember is getting fireskin level as high as possible (for cc reflect) and a rare shield with block chance: close combat (which unlocks/scales with shield lore), and pray that the big-hitters don't roll 2 hits in a row.... even with constitution mastery and all stat points put into vitality, the elf doesn't have the biggest HP-pool either. After that, offence is my next line of defence Yeah that's true, which is why my current build has focused more on modding for damage. Having said that, my previous HE build has the Stun mod as her primary line of defense against the NGs. The Stun effect, together with the shield that you have mentioned, stacked EM, 'weakened' status, high evade/reflect, and approx. 15% of DM, made the NGs look silly Just wanted to share my recent experience in shopping for a armor with DM for the HE. Like you mentioned, the heavy armors do apppear less frequent than the light ones, but not rarely. There were a few occasions 3-4 heavy armors appeared in the shop but none of them has DM mods. I'm beginning to think such armors (esp those with stacked DM) are a rarity for HE almost like the legendaries, only there is an extremely slim chance of buying it at the shop. I'm currently building a HE with EP to see if I could better obtain them from farming NGs instead
  11. I've not really played a lot of hours on the elf. When I do, I am typically using the light-style armour, and have not done any looking for Damage Mitigation for the Elf. So I am by no means an expert on this topic, but... IMO, DM is not an elf's forte. Her main defensive capablilites revolve around reflecting (fireskin and iceskin buffs), blocking (fireskin, Expulse Magic, and shield lore) and HP-regeneration (Grand Invigoration, Constitution mastery). Not to mention the lack of Toughness as a defensive skill, and no shoulder-pad armour (another armour that can have DM) I think that you would be hard-pressed to get anywhere near 30% mitigation.... at very high-level. Again, I am not an expert with the elf, but the few I've played have not used any mitigation except for using the Glacial Defender shield once in a while (mostly for +combat art range Thank you for your valuable insights once again. I totally agree with you on the HE's limited defensive options as compared to the other characters, which makes her a challenging character to play. I'm actually inspired by Dobri's guide on how to become a demi-god through DM armory/items, which is why I've been looking for a torso armor with stacked DM (at least 20+% DM). With such an armor, I can combine it with a high level Glacial Defender and the Tanits Collar accessories to obtain at least 30% all-channel DM. The HE defensive capabilities have thus far been reliant on chances (to evade, block, reflect, etc) which is why, on couple of occasions, the Nameless Guardians were able to 1-2 hit KO my level 125 HE even with extremely high % of evasion, block and reflect (with high constitution and stacked Expulse Magic as well). Maybe it's my pursuit of a near-immortal HE or my play style, but my original intention was to make it difficult for enemies to hit me (with high chances to evade, block and reflect), and even if I get hit, damage dealt is manageable so that HP regen + difficulty in hitting me again, makes me in a sense unkill-able. I have thought of increasing my armor thru Valaria's garment, Stalworth safeguard, Artamak's Star and Blacksmith arts, but my understanding of damage vs armor discussion on the forum (chattius's write-up I think) is that at least 7-8 times of armor is required to receive less than stated damage on enemy tooltip in Niob difficulty. This makes increasing DM way superior to armor during late game. But, like you said, it seems HE would have difficulty achieving even 30% DM, unless such an armor as I have mentioned appears
  12. Hello Scott, thank you for the prompt advice, greatly appreciate it Is there a way then for me to increase my chances of "finding" a heavy armor for my HE at the shops? I was initially thinking keeping my bargaining at a high level would do the trick but apparently it isnt working..
  13. Im not sure about the HE gear question, but the electrify mod causes the weaken status effect which lowers attributes by 20% and thus lowers damage, health and all other things effected by attributes (or the monster equivalent). great to know, thank you for sharing with me the specific effects of the 'weakening' status on the attributes
  14. Hi everyone, I'm hoping somebody can help me with this. I'm currently trying to find torso armors with stacked DM for my HE but my level 103 HE shopper has not seen any after 9-10 hrs of trying. So far only 2 armors with basic DM modifiers (I.e. doesn't require the armor lore skill at all) have appeared. This pales in comparison with my seraphim shopper who has already seen several armors with stacked DM within 15 mins of trying and she is at char level 96. My HE shopper has achieved mastery for bargaining and is at level 406. So I'm wondering is it because armors with stacked DM doesnt exist for HE or is it because my HE's char level is still too low for such armors to appear? Has anyone managed to purchase such armors for the HE and how was it achieved? Greatly appreciate some advice on this. Thank you
  15. Hi, I'm new to this forum and hoping that this thread is still open for posting. I've been following the forum discussions on this website and am really impressed with the analyses/write-ups by Dobri and Soldat on the usefulness of damage mitigation (DM). As such, I've been setting up my High Elf and Seraphim characters in favor of armory with DM modifiers (especially those unlocked by armor lore mastery). As I understand, a high-level shopper is required to source for a good armor with stacked DM. However, although my Seraphim shopper (currently level 96 with Bargaining 75 hard and 321 soft points) has already found a torso armor with stacked DM, my HE shopper (currently level 100 with Bargaining 100 hard and 403 soft points) rarely sees an armor with DM modifiers, let alone an armor with DM mods that unlock with armor lore mastery. I'm playing on the console and my HE shopper is currently at Niob difficulty. I am wondering if: (1) such TORSO armors, like the one Dobri found, exist at the shops for my HE character? Has anyone found such armors for HE and how was it achieved? (2) it is because my HE shopper's level is still too low and requires further leveling to maybe 120-140 before such armors begin to appear in shops? But then again, as I understand it gets more difficult to find higher quality of wares with higher char level. This makes me hesitant to continue leveling my HE. Sorry for the long post but I'd greatly appreciate some advice on these matters. Thank you. *Side note* Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but the 'electrify' mod for Cobalt Strike serves to mitigate damage as well. I was testing out the 'weakening' effects of CS on the Nameless Guardians and this is what I observed: NG (Ice, Level 116) Without 'Weakening' HP = 224625 Damage = 1778 With 'Weakening' HP = 197000 Damage = 1602 Approx. 10% of DM. NG (Poison, Lev 116) Without 'Weakening' HP = 410400 Damage = 2387 With 'Weakening' HP = 349600 Damage = 2133 That is close to 11% of DM!
