  1. Cheers gang!  Wow, very true.  Updating is not for the faint of heart, lol.  :oooo:

We still have a bit of work to do.  There's a persistent bug I am trying to quash.  I think I will need to reset everyone's notification settings unfortunately.  I'll be doing that in the very near future but I'll announce a heads up before I do and explain what it will mean when I make the announcement.  What I'm attempting to do is to minimize the strain on our email server by resetting very old members that don't visit to the default of no email notifications.  The only way to do that is to do it to everyone.  That's the quick heads up!

I'll continue to explore options for this week and I'll likely implement the above strategy by the end of next week.  Around the 1st I guess.

    Stay Sacred!  :tomato:

  2. Very nice Lindor!  You really nailed that haircut.  :lindor:

For the longest time I wanted to design emoji's but some other project would always take precedence.  Kolobok's emojis are a big fave of mine and of which most of our forum emojis are from.  Aiwan, I think is the author's name, created a GDK kit so that anyone could create emojis based on his style and using templates he provided.

Feel free to try your hand at it.  :schot:

  3. Now we got some serious holiday spirit happening!  :D

Full disclosure, the Christmas theme has been resurrected using some serious arcane necromancy.  Since the original creator of the theme we bought from went bonkers last year, I decided to update the theme on my own to make it compatible with our forum software.   (She kinda ran away to elope and dumped all clients after taking money...)  That said!  There may be a few kinks in the works.

Enjoy the music player and enjoy the xmas lights.  They're reeeaally expensive so be careful not to break any.

  4. Is this the Valheim Anonymous support group?  Ok, I confess.  I was juuuust a wee LOT into this.   Like, I was playing way too much!

Needless to say I adore Valheim.  One of the best that I've played in quite a while.  I played with 2 others on a server we're renting and that probably adds a lot to the fun factor.  Bizarrely enough, what I like most is it's semi hard core take on character deaths.  It reminds me a bit of the old Sacred game.  In the old Sacred, when someone died, your friends could help by going and picking up your stuff before the dead person left the game in order to preserve the nice gear acquired.
In Valheim, when a player dies, they leave a tombstone where they died that contains their entire inventory.  The trick is that sometimes players die in very far away lands or highly dangerous areas.  The player that died can gamble and run for their gear from where ever they respawn but that can be pretty deadly.  But!  With friends on the server you can call them in to help out.
All that said, I find that Valheim brings about fond memories of the HC camaraderie we had and the way we would help each-other out or simply explore together.  Try new things.  Maybe even exploite a bug or two.  :D

Valheim is the first time I've played an early access game.   From my experience it's a complete and worthy experience.
Play time?  Ummm...  324.7 hours.

It's a lot of fun.  Worth more than the $22 it's selling for in my opinion:

Still doesn't work for me? See below:

    Sorry for double posting!
Second test after first succesful embed:

How much Power does the Lotus Make? - YouTube

    Still, no dice?

Curious!  It's strange that it is pulling the title text of the video rather than embedding it.  Are you coy/pasting from the address bar?
    Also, what browser Timo?

  6. Thanks for the exploration guys.  :D  A short time after posting this I did some testing in Edge and Chrome which ended up confusing me more than already was, haha.  It seems that the two browsers may sometimes "fix" themselves after successfully embedding a youtube video after which point copy/pasting will reliably embed the video...  So much for troubleshooting!

Just tested now and Edge, Chrome and Firefox are all embedding automatically after copying a youtube url from the address bar and pasting into the editor.

So maybe once someone successfully embeds then it is no longer an issue?

  7. Hey gang.  Just thought I'd open up this topic to list the ways that can make posting more fun and less work.  :agreed:

This one is for you @Flix!
Paste a link to a youtube video but don't embed it as a playable video within the post.  Just a simple link.
    Step 1.  Paste the link
    Step 2.  Press CTRL + Z

    Done!

A favorite of mine and something I find very annoying without.  Making a new line without double line space.
Step 1.  Hold down the shift key
Step 2.  Press the Enter key

    Done!  :D

  8. Amazing exploration Flix.  Right up my alley, haha.  One of my clients is heavily into the Topaz collection.  She calls on me to clarify things for her on occasion.  When first saw my client had bought Gigapixel AI I admittedly saw it as a gimmick to add onto her collection of Topaz products but as the software evolves it's becoming more and more useful.  And what great use you're making of it!  The reprocessed textures are much improved.  I'm most impressed by the first sword in your list.  Interesting that the flat gold lines going towards the tips of the blades became embossed in the up-scaled version.  It doesn't seem to me as though there was any embossing of those lines in the original.  Pretty cool stuff!

    P.s.
Regarding the strange forum behaviour of auto embedding youtube links; try the follwoing:

    1. paste youtube link
    2. link becomes a video
    3. scroll down to just under the now embedded video
    4. look for the message "Your link has been automatically embedded.   Display as a link instead.
    5. Click on "Display as a link instead" to get rid of the embedded video and leave a link in it's place.

    Somewhat annoying.  I know!

  9. You are most welcome @Arienstarr:agreed:

Could this be related to any update to the formatting due to all the upgrades the site has seen through the times? I've noticed other links leading to a dead end, and then I noticed the links were showing .php5/ in there. Just on a hunch I removed the 5, and the link worked again.

Genius Timo!  Thanks for that tip.  I've never liked Mediawiki's url addressing.  Our wiki urls used to be formatted as sacredwiki.org/index.php5/PAGENAME.  I think it was a couple years ago after an update that the "5" was removed.  Would love to make the time to remove the entire index.php from our urls though it's tricky from what I've read.  As well as create some redirects for the old link format.  One more thing on the to do pile, heh.  :crazy_pilot:
