  1. Not sure if ps3 has it but look up torchlight. You can make specific builds for each character type, has tons of loot, randomized levels, and a never ending dungeon (levels never end)
  2. Why mess with what works? Sacred 3 should follow the obvious successes of the previous two games. No need to rewrite the script. I won't bother if it isn't similar to the other 2 games. I need to able to create my personal builds and wander freely.
  3. Update: Level 80 in platinum. No deaths and using Inexorable Subjugation to create a killing horde, usually around 5 active at most times. Even though there's no offensive skills, the dual wield remains a good and simple choice against most enemies while subjugation recharges [which is quick]. Mob killing remains simple and easy. Bosses/mini-bosses offer no difficulty. LocNar
  4. Not only the Forest Guardian for me but the Tree Spirit in the higher levels; damn thing keeps healing itself. As for the boss levels; I think your character needs have a spell for protecting yourself and an attack that can stun them. Early in the game, I notice the bosses and mini-bosses have the upper hand as your life is low and attacks are low. As a temple guardian, the second arm can really help in close up fighting. Also, the beam attack seems to work well.
  5. Just an update. The toon is now level 108 and has completed the main and character specific quests in Niob. Little difficulty during his quick romp through Niob. In fact, the only tough character to beat was the Tree Spirit mini-boss because he kept re-casting the heal spell on himself. I have 75 hard points to get mastery in Death Warrior Focus Tactics Lore Benevolent Champion Focus Hafted Weapons Armor Lore Combat Discipline Now working on the side quests and will add points to the focuses and dam. He has over 100 skill points from +all skill gear and sockets. He hits hard and often with enough per hit regen to use demonic blow with every attack. Same goes for frenzied rampage. Still a fun player to use.
  6. My SW is a boss pwner: cast combo--> Rousing command+augmenting guidon+killing spree then frenzied rampage until dead. Normally he kills bosses under 20 secs without taking a scratch. The FR reboots itself every time so I just keep re-casting it. Funny thing, the only mini-boss I ever had trouble with was the Flame Lord. The other night I couldn't get any damage on him. So I ran away...
  7. Build Update: This one's for Axel! Here's some updated data: CA mods: Demonic Blow- Vehemence [works so well with a crit hit] + Poisoning + Trauma [for bosses] Rousing Command- Persistance + Impulse + Surge Grim Resilience- Foritfy + Readiness + Safeguard [Massive defense boosts for Noib] Frenzied Rampage- Double Attack + Double Strike + Vampire Augmenting Guidon- Elite + Tutor [works on consoles] + Leadership Killing Spree- Control + Burst + Sear Reflective Emanation- Backlash + Antimagic + Riposte Masteries and points: Master Death warrior focus, hafted weapons, and malevolent champion focus first Then Tactics, Armor lore, combat discipline, constitution and then toughness. Afterwards, place points into tactics and combat discipline. He's going to regen his CAs very quickly so combat disp makes sense as he'll be rarely hitting a non-CA attack. I still don't use any Spectral skills. This character should get in, smack 'em down, then move on to the next group. ZConnor
  8. Frantic, Welcome to the Sacred world! It is a great game! As for your SW tanker, there are some builds for this on the website. But to summarize the builds, you should begin with your 2 buffs, Grim Resilience and Reflective Emenation. These two buffs working together and modded correctly will give you plenty of health, defense, and survivability. The main CAs I've used with great success are demonic blow as the main attack and Frenzied Rampage while using Augmenting Guidon+Killing Spree+Rousing Command to clear large hedious mobs. Tactics and a weapon specialization is critical. You won't be using many offensive spells with a SW so your wep damage must be high. I put all points in strength. Grim gives you health bonus with a mod so I just use that. And constitution provides health as well. I see your on XBOX, look me up l33t_locnar. ZConnor
  9. I never found the minotaur lord, but I like the Werewolf lord, BloodFang or something? Just the way his body goes when he dies is pretty cool I think the Minotaur's name is Helios. You can find him in the NE section of the desert. Head into the Sands of the Thousand Antenna and go east and north around the lake. His cave entrance is on the north end of the map. Zconnor
  10. Howdy all! I've been wanting to create an Inquisitor. I had previously made a dual wielding offensive crusher and also a corpse exploder but was never really satisfied with them. Then I started this Inquisitor and found almost by accident that he's a very successful crowd controller and effective overall character. Some of the mods can be messed around with but the major points are laid out below. You may scratch your head a bit but he's proven himself well with no deaths and barely taking any significant damage. Attributes: Level 1-50ish: Vitality Post 50ish: Intelligence Skills: 1. Nefarious Netherworld lore [keep up with level] 2. Astute Supremacy Lore [keep up with level] 3. Dual Wield 4. Concentration 5. Nefarious Netherworld focus [as many points as needed to keep regen playable] 6. Astute Supremacy focus [as many points as needed to keep regen playable] 7. Constitution 8. Armor Lore [mastery] 9. Bargaining [get mastery at least] 10. Toughness [mastery level] ***Note: You won't see any tactics lore here but he doesn't need it given his high magic abilities; dual wield with CE is a very good attack*** Combat arts: 1. Buffs: a. Reverse Polarity: The mods to use are to reflect as much as possible [this really takes effect later on when half of the attacks are being reflected.] b. Zealous Doppleganger: This buff provides a great meat shield and can wreak havoc all over the place. ***Note: Given this character isn't a melee machine so Purifying Chastanement isn't necessary. Plus Soul Reaver doesn't work well with the Doppleganger's ability to cast it also*** 2. Attack Combat Arts a. Callous Execution: unmodded. I use it as my main attack. [socket your weapons in another slot] The damage isn't huge but with dual wield you get 2 strikes and can still cause significant damage. b. Clustering Maelstrom: mod for higher damage [not higher colision dam] and increased range. I also found the bleed mod to be useful. c. Levin Array: mod for increased range and crits. d. Eruptive Desecration: Mod for increased range and damage. [Great for cleaning up mobs] e. Disloged spirit: Mod for increased duration and dam [excellent against bosses] f. Inexorable Subjugation: Mod for increased dam and life of the 'subjects' ***Note: Paralyzing Dread is bugged on the console and will not work*** 3. Items: a. I really like Ker's Hand with this build. Gives you +experience and good sockets for those +all skills ammys and rings. b. Some of Idgard's are good like the helm, armor plate, and shoulders [stay away from the gear that promote GI arts as you won't get much use from those] c. Gear with increased run speed works very well to keep the Inquisitor moving and laying waste in a hurry. d. +all skills gear is necessary, hence the bargaining skill. This build requires high levels for health and regen and can use all the help he can get. 4. How to use: a. Callous execution is your main melee attack. Slot it as your main 'A' button b. Get your buffs up a fast as possible [obviously get the doppleganger first, then mod Reverse Polarity] c. For single or double enemies: cast an Inexorable Subjugation and take over one enemy, then CE the other one. Do this often! These 'subjects' will fight for you relentlessly until they 'die'. You get the experience from their kills. I haven't seen a cap on the amount of subjects you can have so create a mob of your own and watch them crush everything around them. Also, at times your doppleganger will cast IS too. When he does, assist in the kill as his IS isn't nearly as strong as yours. d. Mob control: Combo up Clustering Maelstrom with Levin Array. Then use IS and CE or blow up a corpse to clean it up. e. Bosses: Here is where things get a bit slow. If you have a mob, then things will be much easier. But combo Dislodged Spirit with Inexorable Subjugation on the boss, then CE him, and re-cast the combo. When your regen gets fast enough, you can re-cast the combo without even using CE. The boss will barely have enough time to swing on you. And with Reverse Polarity, there's a good chance that you'll reflect it anyway. Good luck and have fun with your own personal mob fighting in your honor! ZConnor
  11. Not sure if this has been discussed but my main problems with my dual weilding melee Inquisitor was too little life and feeling like a god CE'ing everything in site and progressing too quickly. I like the 4 levels per area method. Niob just crushed my first attempt when I got there. Any mob would make me run like a lil schoolgirl. Fortunately, I re-evaluated the build and made the necessary changes. Now he rocks the joint. Zconnor
  12. Ah, the dragon king! I like him. But! My fav is the Octoglamus. Freaky looking thing in my book. I like to watch him lose those arms one at a time while I'm smacking him down to my size. As for the mini-bosses, I prefer the Minotaur lord. Nothing like using my inquisitor to 'hire' the other minotaurs in his cavern to waste him for me! Zconnor
  13. Thanks for all the replies! With everyone's help I figured it out. To play co-op and on the same team, I need my son to log in under his mother's account and create a character [a SW]. He then accesses this character after I've started the game with an offline character only on campaign mode. This way we share the experience but no the items. I'm the host but he seems to get most of the drops. Even if I open a chest, he seems to get the drops! I can't collect them unless the time limit ends. Weird, but then again he's my kid so I don't mind him getting the drops. The no-trading bit really stinks though. Both of our players are offline! Please fix this with Sacred 3! Zconnor
  14. Howdy all! I have a question about the XBOX 360 co-op. My son wants to play co-op with me on the Sacred 2. But I'm having a problem. Not sure if this can be done but: Can he log in as a guest under my account and use one of my characters on the same team? So far I'm not having any luck with this. He can log in under my wife's account but she doesn't have LIVE and we can only play offline and we aren't on the same team, even with both characters playing the same mode [light or dark]. Thanks for any help! Zconnor
  15. Thanks for replies! I think I'll use the two skills for bargaining and toughness. As for the bosses. It takes longer to kill them but he doesn't have much trouble. Casting dislodged and subjugation really helps. Zconnor
  16. jk Enhanced p is a great skill. I have a shopper/seeker that finds stuff for my other toons. As for the CAs, I set demonic blow as my main attack button. Keep up the toon leveling! Zconnor
  17. Howdy all! I'm in a rutt here. I'm building an Inquisitor who so far is doing quite well. Here's a breif summary of him: Dual wielder, buffed with Reverse Polarity [to reflect everything] and Doppleganger. Primary attack is Callous Execution but not modded. I have not chosen GI skill line. He uses Clustering Maelstrom with Levin Array; then a separate Corpse Explosion for mob duty. Basically he's doing fine but I've never been able to make an Inquisitor that didn't die at least once. I don't like dying My skill choices: not in order cuz I can't remember that! 1. Concentration 2. Armor Lore 3. Dual Wield 4. Astral Focus 5. Astral Lore 6. Nefarious Lore 7. Nefarious Focus 8. Constitution Now here's the issue: With the last two--> I figure it's between 2 of the these 3: a. Toughness- Given his low armor ratings, I figure this would greatly help in Niob b. Combat Discipline- To raise his dam output even higher given he mostly kills using his combat arts c. Bargaining- To give him the ability to geet those +all skill rings and necklaces Here's what I figure: If I go with bargaining, I could raise the skills and not need combat discipline. Toughness appears to be a given for survivability. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance! ZConnor
  18. JK, I can't use the blacksmithing. Console is bugged. I thought about enhanced p but in the end he doesn't seem to need much from the items. His skills and attributes are so high he's a massive tank just slicing through everything. The closest thing I ever built to this character is an old concentration Barb from Diablo 2. BTW- the Tyranny of the Condemned [class quest item] is actually a very good 2 hand axe to use. Can't wait to hear how your SW is coming along! Zconnor
  19. Gogo, It's a pleasure to be back. I was away trying to get into some other RPGs but in the end Sacred 2 still has me. Update to the build [might as well be somewhat on topic]: Still rolling through Platinum, no deaths, not even close actually. I've rolled through all the mini-bosses and just took out the Octoglamus in under 20 secs. I've mastered Death Warrior focus [no more points], hafted weps [staying at 75 for now], and MC focus [staying at 75] and now working towards mastering tactics. ZConnor
  20. schneipel, I use the FR a lot. I do kinda like the one hit, kill em all method. Given this character's so strong, I can use the DB first for fun and then clean em up with the rampage. Putting this character on temporary hold whilst I begin a fire elf. LocNar
  21. Howdy all! Just re-started Sacred 2 [xbox] and started a SW that I don't a build for. So I'm writing one for non-rich folks as this build is written with a character I started fresh. I had previously cleaned out my HDD on the 360 so I lost my chest... boo hoo. But this character is very straight forward and apparently well built as he's level 79 in platinum with no deaths. Here's the build strategy: A) Place all points in strength B) Skills: 1. Death Warrior Focus- 75 hard points [have 75 in it by level 75 to get bonus] 2. Tactics Lore- Place one point after every level up. 3. Malevolent Champion Focus- 75 hard points [follow death warrior focus to get bonus] 4. Hafted Weapons- 75 hard points to get bonus [I like the 2 handed hafted weapons for this build] 5. Armor Lore- 75 hard points 6. Concentration- 1 point [needed to get a second buff] 7. Combat discipline- 1 point [this build will use combat arts alot so the extra dam pumping helps] 8. Toughness- 1 point 9. Constitution- 75 hard points 10. Speed Lore- 75 hard points Given the build is 'working' and I'm leveling up, some skills would most likely go past 75 but concentration and combat disp won't benefit much from extra hard points. +All Skills gear will help with the other skills that aren't being leveled with hard points. So far, my 1 point skills are about level 76. C) Combat Arts- Ah the fun stuff. Set your primary melee attack as Demonic Blow. [You'll need to set the hafted weapon in another slot to do this] Death Warrior Tree: 1. Demonic Blow [The only mod that is necessary is splash damage mod, hitting multiple enemies is always better than bleeding one] 2. Grim Resilience [This should be your first buff- the necessary mod is for more health] 3. Rousing Command [works great in a combo see below; the necessary mod is to add defense] Malevolent Champion Tree: 1. Frenzied Rampage [Great for mobbin'; mods should be for chance to hit twice] 2. Reflective emenation [second buff; mod for repelling ranged needed] 3. Killing Spree [Excellent in a combo; mod for increased damage and releasing early] 4. Augmenting Guidon [Great in a combo; mod for more experience and defense] 5. Beligerent Vault [I only this for jumping around something, makes it easier to get around] D) Items: 1. Sets: Any set items that increase either DW or MC trees; socket +skill or dam mitigation if possible 2. Weapons: You can use a hafted weapon with a shield but a 2 handed hafted weapon is preferable. The speed is only an issue early on. Once you get hafted weapons skill higher the speed goes up and the chance for a second hit increases too. The tyranny of the condemned is a good weapon but the dragonslayer really does the damage. 3. Try to find rings/necklaces with +regen per hit to bring down the combat art regen speed. E) Combos: 1. Rousing Command + Augmenting Guidon + Killing Spree: This combo works great with mobs or bosses. Simply cast and then attack. 2. Beligerent Vault + Demonic Blow: Fun little combo How to use your new SW: 1. Mobbin': I start with a demonic blow [once everyone gets around you] followed by Frenzied Rampage. Rinse and repeat as needed. For large mobs, use the first combo above and then DB and FR them to death. 2. Bossin': Cast the combo then switch between demonic blow and frenzied rampage. 3. The speed lore skill makes you faster so you don't need a mount. 4. The defense, attack, and life is very high and coupled with the second buff, reflective emenation you deflect a ton back to the attackers. You can tank something serious with this character. I haven't found a weakness with him yet. Some people may ask how many points to put in the arts, I pump them all up and the regen time is low. Others may ask which mods to use for the arts, the mods that truly matter are listed by what they do. The other mods can be messed with. I have not encountered a boss yet that has given me any trouble. The only change to this build would be your weapon choice: to switch to sword or double weps. Good luck and have fun stormin' the castle! LocNar
  22. I'm currently working on a hafted melee SW myself. So far, level 26, no deaths, not really even coming close to dying either and fighting all mini-bosses with great success. My current build is based on Grim Resilience for the extra health and phys defense; and Reflective Emanation with ranged and magic added. These 2 buffs seem to work well together and allow me to tank large groups without taking much damage. An occasional health pot is used. Also only using 2 handed hafted weapons for greater dam. Since the health and defense is higher with Grim, I'm not as much concerned with attack speed for now. I use demonic blow [with the splash damage] as my main attack while using frenzied rampage as a second. For large groups or bosses I use Augmenting Guidon-Rousing Command-Killing Spree. It's hard to get hit and easy to hit them with that combo. As for the skills, I'm not using anything from Spectral. I don't really think any of them are worth much and would rather use a skill slot for something else. As far as your build goes, the only thing I'd re-look at would be speed lore. Not that useful. I would add in combat discipline. It adds damage and allows for a third skill to the combos.
  23. If your making a melee SW then I'd stick with the build you've started. I wouldn't use any of the astral lord skills so you don't need anything in concentration. I'd add all points to strength; let grim res and constitution raise your hit points. Using Grim Res and Reflective Em for the buffs is fine. As for the other skills: I like MC focus, combat reflexes, and toughness. Tanks need to be hard hit and take less damage when they do get hit. Use Demonic Blow as your main attack button. Frenzied rampage as a good secondary while DB is re-charging. And combo vault with sweep for sneak attacks against a small group. Combos I like: [with combat disp skill] Mobs- 1. Augmenting Guidon 2. Rousing Command 3. Killing spree. At higher levels using DB as your main attack with killing spree and all of the attack/defense your getting from the other combo skills, you;ll simply stand in the center and dish out tons of pain. Boss- 1. Augmenting Guidon 2. Rousing Command 3. Frenzied Rampage. Then DB until dead. With this build type, you don't need astral lore skills. The skeletal fort is cool early on but you can use points in other skills instead this. Many like the shadow veil, but again I don't like having to spend a skill on astral lord in order to get the buff. Nether Alligiance is a great skill but I don't really like the summons anymore. Make a zookeeper as another character.
  24. Rndm, You should try the thief character. They have 2 storylines to follow if you add in the assasin's line in addition to the thief guild. The items you get from the assasin's line are truly great for your thief. I choose the lizard man for this role as he has built in bonuses for the thief character. Zconnor
  25. I've been constantly re-starting my characters in search of the p-build and now have 6 characters I really like. But I find rolling through quest to quest kinda dull and prefer the Diablo style runs of Mephin, Baal'n, Cowin, and Bloody Runs for XP and items. With Sacred 2, I find a game with more areas to hit up and have found a nice 'run' that gives me good XP, items, and lots of mobbin. I don't really like the caving technique as it gets too repetitive for me after a few runs. 1. Defeat the Crystal boss and then run up and beat the Guardians. 2. Run through Grunwald and beat the Dragon, then the Gar-Colosus 3. Clear out the SE swamp and Dragon 4. Beat the Tree Boss Repeat if needed. Post your fav runs!
