  1. Would you really bother calling that an easter egg? It's definitely meant to be a take off of Jack Sparrow but to me it's just another half assed joke like the ones on the statues and graves such as 'athlete with bad shoes suffer pain of de feet'.

I'm not sure what to make of all that humour. Normally you'd expect a tombstone to have a joke that relates to how the person died or whatever. My favorite is a real life example. It's not an internet hoax and you can visit the grave. It says something like a poem that goes "Fold out your arms, Unfurl your wings etc.". If you look at it from top to bottom instead of across it says frak Y O U ! John. The story goes that the wife and mistress of this dead guy went to buy the tombstone together. The stone mason only realised what it said after he'd finished carving it. Haha. That's what you get for crossing two women!

EDIT: Wow, looks like the text editor is working, I even put a space between each letter, but I guess I'm not allowed to tell you what it really spelled. We'll just go with frak, whatever that means.

  2. Yep Elwin. I think I read that's the dark campaign version of this quest.

Do I have to update the game to 2.65 to install the CM? Isn't there an old version? Given some quests are removed I'm worried it might wreck my save games this late into the game.

  3. LOL @ the comment about my character saying she needs a change of underwear. She did make a few comments asking Lumen to help her and that the enemies were too difficult, when I first got to the desert. I stumbled into that area from the cave at the south of the first area, so I jumped from level 1-7!! I levelled up every few minutes for a while but topped out in the high 30s and I haven't really levelled since.

I wish I'd played on silver. I think it's possible to change the difficulties from looking at the menu screen. Would it be worth it at this stage of the game?

  4. Okay, I went to the North exit and turned left like you said. The Hydras were right there, not far out of the gate.

Thanks heaps. I probably wouldn't have looked so close to town for ages and I would have had to spam loads of potions to keep the escort alive. This was a great help.

  5. I'm experiencing that stupid error where the quest marker goes over the person your escorting and not the destination. I've tried reloading and all that jazz. The quest is (I think) called Hydra Tongues or The Hydra Tongues. I have to take an NPC to somewhere and beat them to collect 3. I don't know where to go and this person is NOT immortal.

I did manage to do the escort quest with the negotiators and kept ALL of them alive (just having a brag). I did it the way I do all non immortal escort quests. Just run like crap on your horse or unique mount and spam the health potions when necessary. I didn't succeed with 'new books' in the desert and I disagree that the swamp one is the hardest. New Book is harder because you have to go in and out of a cave, which means if the author dies just before going in you have no way to alt tab out and restart (little cheat there I know).

    Hi there.

I did that quest, just recently. I walked out of the town and turned left. Within a few step, the hydra's were around and I killed them pretty easy. I know that the marker is bugged, but if you just hunt around the outskirts of the main gate of the town, you should bump into some hydra's and the quest will end, no problem.

    Good luck,

    Steve. :)

THANKS! (This is a stupid question if there is only one, I'll have to go see, but if there is more than one exit out of town, which one did you use?

  7. Thanks, makes sense.

Also how come I'm almost done (except for expansion... and the main quest as I do sides first) and I'm only level 42? I do everything and explore every corner of every area. Is this because I'm playing Bronze? I've heard others describe themselves as well over level 100. Do you level faster on the tougher challenges?

  8. I couldn't find the guy anywhere. I know you might have mentioned this in the other thread but what version of the game do you have again? And is it fully patched? I don't know if the CM Patch fixed this quest but I'll ask and maybe if they are able to, fix this in a future edition of the patch. So at least something positive will come out of finding this :)

Just looked at the link...Ugh, nothing like a bugged quest and invincible NPC. Least you got company :D

Not sure what can be done here unfortunately.

It's possible that they removed the guy in a future update, which is why you can't find him (at least the light campaign version). It's on version 2.64. What do you mean by CM patch? Is that like a community patch? I didn't know there was one. How cool! Where can I get it?

  9. The first giant icon I ever saw on the map was a big red icon of a dragon after I killed in east of the desert (Bangaresh). The next giant icon was the scorpion at the south of that desert, however although I found a huge arena inside the temple, there was no big scorpion in it that I recall (not a boss anyway).

Now I'm back up in the orc country I think, I'm near the "Nor Plat Border/Wall" that comes up with it's name when you mouse over the wall on the map. Right near there is a town where some people talk about a golem. I found this ramp that goes down in a spiral to a big pit like an arena. I looked all around it but there was nothing down there except a treasure chest. When I look at the map there's a giant golem picture on it now.

Is this because I haven't been doing the main quest yet? Or is it side quest related? Or is it bugged?

  10. I found this page online. This seems to be my problem (btw when I mouse over this guy, the quest name doesn't replace his on the red bar. instead it's blank)

    http://forum.sacred2.com/showthread.php?t=63287

The quest is the Travelling Salesman I think, or the Salesman of Death.

Oh well at least he's immortal and might distract enemies away from my future escorts.

I think if you play the dark campaign you have to lure this guy out and kill him.

  11. I found a couple of things on Google (German and French, so Google translate makes the meaning confusing).

It might be a bit buggy as the first thing I found was this:

    Lathor

    Act 7

Info: Rival salesman. Bring him outside to assassinate him. Dark side only

    Invincibility: Yes

Hits: No, he draws aggro though, which is annoying

    Location: Badawi outskirts

The second thing I found was 2-3 other people who were playing seraphim and didn't know where to take Lathor.

  12. Sorry if you know this and already tried but try using CTRL + Print Screen. That's what I use. I can get the directory path it saves it to if you need.

And you should try out MP...it's free for this game :) We're all hanging out on the International servers in Hardcore if you want to stop by :D

I didn't try with ctrl held down as well LOL. I'll give that a go if all else fails here. Will try MP then for sure, but not now. I have to log off for a while today. I'll have a go later tonight as it's lunch time here.

  13. The Harpy queen is in a cave north of East Turbak. Check out the desert region on the Map of Ancaria. Should have everything you need there

As for the other question, is the question mark by the Temple of the Gods? If it is, the actual pathway is to the west of the question mark. The path is kind of hard to see but if the map doesn't help I can take a pic and show location

WAIT YES!! I said no before because I thought you meant the Temple of the Gods that is surrounded by water further north (in the high elf area). I can see on the map of arcania that the one I need is actually a Temple, but it's on the Bangersh side, south of the other one. I have walked all around the border there and I can't get in. The pic with an arrow would be a great help!

  14. His name is spelled Lathor, not Lothar (like Commander Lothar). I think I must have picked him up in Badawi, but I can't be 100% sure. The quest now thinks it is called Badawi so...

Wait, let me check log book again after a reload and I'll tell you more... (I'll edit this)

Ok well there is a failed quest about a guy who's a coffin maker that wants to be escorted to teardrop hamlet. The quest marker is near the border to bangaresh/badawi, below tear drop hamlet. Nothing happens when I take him there.

(I did lose Melindor, he died before I knew what I was doing. This wasn't HIS quest was it, as if so, I'll have to keep looking.

If I click on "Badawi" the supposed "quest marker" and then open my log book it has no title, no info but it says CONTACTS: Lothar (no tick) Small Kobold (no tick). Where's the kobold meant to be:)

  15. Also, just in case it helps, Lathor CANNOT DIE! There is no worry about him tagging along with me as nothing kills him. I'm not sure if he runs really fast or is just immune to damage. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

I can't find a quest on the wiki called "Badawi" so I'm not sure why the quest marker says that in both activated and deactivated state. CONFUSED MUCH!

  16. Oh thanks heaps guys!! If it's MAIN quest related it's no wonder I'm not there yet. I always do the side quests in each area first and save the main quest for last. Also stupidly the mines from the port of area 1 (high elf area where you start as Seraphim I think) links through the "Old Naval Port" cave to the desert. This means there's a path direct from chapter 1 to chapter 7. I went directly from chapter 2, realised I missed a quest in chapter 1, did that quest, explored the cave and ended up in chapter 7! I realised it was a WICKED way to level up fast so I've been playing chapter 7 side quests all this time!!

PS what happens if I do touch the treasure? Is there anything good in there? Will it effect the main quest or will anyone know? I don't mind just fighting an undead boss or something.

  17. About halfway up (between north and south) of the mountains that border the east side of the Bangaresh desert, there is a cave. This cave has lots of piles of treasure, the kind that has multiple boxes and piles of gold (usually lots of stuff or valuables inside) scattered all around. The problem is that while it all has that white moving sheen which indicates a collectable or interact-able item, it won't actually allow me to select the stuff! Not a single one!

At the end of this cave there is a sort of podium with rays of sun shining down (or holy light?) but standing on it doesn't do anything and it doesn't seem to be selectable. I've done all the quests that I can find in Bangaresh so I've given up on the idea that the treasure is quest related.

I thought, when I first found the cave, that maybe it was dragon's loot and I had to kill the desert dragon first. I've done that, but still no joy. Any ideas peeps?

  18. I have an escort quest in Bangaresh (when do you not have one in Bangaresh... sheesh!) with a guy called Lathor. I messed up by clicking on a different quest marker on the map, without taking note of the existing one when I first picked up this guy. I can't seem to find the right quest location now. I think I have the right quest marker when I click one that says "Badawi" on it. When I select it, it changes positions to a place near a lake in the High Elven region, just above the desert. However, when I go to the location, there is nothing there! The quest marker seems to be just above the south part of the little lake, on a small cliff, however there is no way up there. When I stand right next to the marker at the base of the cliff, there is no usual commentary like "I'm almost there" or "I have arrived at my destination". I think it's bugged!

Also, when I click on this quest in my log book, there is NO text. In the box down the bottom it says "Lothar" and "Small Kobold". I haven't met said kobold and there is no tick next to either.

Hewp! What can I do next?

(Luckily Lothar isn't one of those annoying stupid escort types. He doesn't get himself killed so it's not too bad)

  19. The only quest I can think of off the top of my head involves a 'Decrepit Harpy'. He wants an escort over to the harpy resting place. Both the quest giver and final location are sse of the temple. Are you playing in SP or MP, campaign or freeplay? Also what version are you playing on (Fallen Angel only, expansion patches etc)? I'm kind of curious now what's there :D

I think I'm playing 2.4 or similar. I heard 2.65 is the latest but I haven't upgraded yet. I have ice and blood installed. Single player only. Never got into MMORPG. I think I baulk at the idea of paying extra every month on top of purchasing the game.

No it's not the decrepit harpy. I took her to her resting place ages ago. So annoying that can't take a screenshot. It has something to do with the game I think because when I press print screen, the map flashes off and on again (since I'm trying to photograph the map, I have that open).

  20. Okay I went back there but there was nothing I could do to take a screen shot. It's at the very bottom of the mountains, closet to the desert, from the Temple of the Gods. It's SSE of there (extreme south, south east). When I tried to take a screen shot it just came out black when I pasted to paint.

BTW big thanks for the help. I got the Harpy QUeen taken care of!

  21. The question mark only shows up sometimes. I think it's a little below the temple of the gods. It's in the mountains between Bangaresh and the 'state' above. It's more on the Bangaresh side though, the temple is more on the other side. It might be a little to the right or left of the temple. It's not showing up for me right now. Tomorrow I'll get rid of my escorts and move close to the area so I can screenshot it.

Thanks for the advice with the Harpy queen and the map. Very useful :-)

  22. So like a lot of quests where the target is underground, the Kill the Harpy Queen quest (or whatever it's called) keeps pointing me to a nearby cave. If I DESELECT the quest it points to an area of desert, but nothing is there if I go there. If I SELECT it, it points to a nearby cave, which is actually the tomb of that dead King that you have to take Gelminy (sorry, I know that's spelled wrong) to, to get the amulet for her after a multistage quest. No Harpy Queen in sight. If I get further away from the tomb and then select the quest, unlike most quests it doesn't point to the nearest hole any more, it just points back to that spot of desert.

    Any ideas for location?

PS thanks for the help on the Adventure Tours quest and Merry Chrimbo!

PPS there's also a 'question mark' when I get near the sort of middle, north of bangaresh, up in those mountains. How the heck do I get to it? There seems no way through the hills from this side.

  23. Thanks for the greetz all! Hope you're having a great Christmas (step away from the computer)... (it's Chrissie night already here in Aussie land and the kids are alseep)

    Okay, I'm playing 2.6.4

If I upgrade will it fix that damn glitch where any underground quest shows up on the map as being in the nearest cave/sewer entrance? That's driving me nuts but otherwise not TOO many glitches.

Thank you again for your help. I found the island and dragged the idiot there and guess what! After spending DAYS dragging that guy all over Bangaresh and COUNTLESS wasted hours (after having to reload because he died) and HUNDREDS of wasted health potions used.... I got NOTHING for the quest reward. If he died, you get a bag of worthless fools gold (and maybe no experience?). If he lives Jack Karrow says 'sorry I don't have much to give you, he paid me in fool's gold' and you get just over 3k experience. What a let down. Also it turned out I'd already been to that island. I had missed the treasure as it just looked like a normal loot drop.
