  1. I'm working on a project to make an interconnected VPN for gaming. SacredOpen is a stepping stone to this. Composed of master server, daemons (game manager servers) and clients. Some of it will be release source code wise. But I'm not keen on releasing all the code.
  2. Hi guys- the servers have been up, and haven't noticed any issues. Im still seeing people connect, that being said- when I vnc'd to the server box today, I saw a player 'baycan' left some nasty messages for me to find. He seems to be confused, and thinks I am obligated to provide this service to him. 'The least you can do, is have the Curtecy to reply to me' lol Let's be clear- The sacredOpen wippien account is automated- leaving obscene messages is quite pointless. I provide these servers 24/7 at financial cost to myself- (hosted in data centre), and ask for no reimbursement. When people report issues to me directly, via email, I can and will try to resolve the issue as soon as I can. This guy baycan, was leaving nasty messages, just because no one was online to play with him. Lol Below is some output from the server app I made, from the past day or so.... There are definitely players connecting--- it's not my fault that they don't stick around for long sessions. 3. Apparently the open internet lobby server is indeed operational - I just dont know the ip address, I think if you google at the official sacred forums, u can find it. Yeah, at the time of writing that FAQ, Wippien did not have the x64 drivers included, it now does. Also note - If you use Hamachi, and it is using the 5.x.x.x address range, then you need to disable it, and make sure wippien is using it.# If still having connection issues, then follow the registry editing fix described in the Windows 7 querks section, even if on Vista. The registry key relates to WeOnlyDo adapter, and it involves adding a subkey called *ndis***** or something along those lines - cant remember. 9/10 people I have tried walking through, have all said they dont want to do registry editing, and they spend 30-45 minutes with me on chat, turning routers and firewalls and stuff off and on etc, only to find that the registry fix DOES work in the majority of the time.
  4. The Servers are still up. We get the odd player - used to get 5 people online at any one time but that was before Wippien.com closed doors and we lost our contact list which had 300+ people on it. In order to play, you need to 1. go to Jabber.org 2. Register 3. Download Wippien from Wippien.com 4. Install 5. Login via your Jabber.org account 6. Add SacredOpen@Jabber.org to your contacts (Note - this account is automated, and wont give anything beyond the automated replies) 7. Assuming it works, you should be able to establish vpn to my contact entry. If you are unable to right click and ping me - then e-mail me @ Baaleos@azmodan.net and I will arrange to meet you online and walk you through it. The most common fix/issue that people have had, is the need for a registry key to be made in their registry. Instructions for this are located on www.sacredopen.azmodan.net in the instructions page. eg - Search for a specific registry entry, and add a new key, then reboot.
  5. If u see no game servers , then. This has nothing to do with peak times etc- u are experiencing a connection provlem. Check that u can ping sacredopen via wippien- U should also implement the registry fix mentioned at sacredopen.azmodan.net It has been updated to have the new registry key name.
  6. Due to the discontinuation of match making services from Wippien, the process of joining the servers is slightly more complex. http://sacredopen.azmodan.net/index.php/how-to-connect You must register now for a Jabber.org account, and then use that login for Wippien, then you can find SacredOpen at SacredOpen@Jabber.org
  7. Hey Dobster, What OS are you on again? I recently Installed Windows 7 64Bit, and it works for me. I also recently helped another player sort it out for them on windows 7 64bit/ Let me know if 1. You have hamachi installed. 2. Did you try the regedit trick?
  8. http://sacredopen.azmodan.net/ Sacred Open is moving to be hosted INSIDE, the London Internet Exchange (LINX). We will be hosted within the source of the UK's internet, bypassing ISP's etc. As result, we should get an overall improvement on ping's etc. We will be getting a new IP address, but I do not as of yet know if this will affect Wippien. Also Pretty much, I have made modifications to the Sacred Open server manager application. It now allows players to interact with it, via Wippien Chat Commands. As a result, players can now query the Servers, to find out which servers have players online. Note - The sacred open wippien account is unmanned, and will respond as such, to say so. if you speak ' -Playercount ' to the wippien account, it will send you a reply, containing all the server info, as well as telling you how many servers are online. Future Features: * Request Servers - Send a chat command, and the server manager will create an optionally private game server for you. eg -create <server-name> <server-password> <gametype> <level-range> These game-servers, will auto-disolve when empty. Eg - When the players all leave, and it is empty for 20 minutes, it will be removed.
  9. Well competition or not, it is no skin off my nose where people play. I rarely play the game as it is. But a Wippien network is superior to a Hamachi Network, since Free Hamachi is limited to about 20 concurrent members. What would he do once he hits the member limit? Start kicking people? Wippien is more like MSN, people join a contact list, and there is no limit. The Wippien network I have set up, is also monitored for performance and uptime. When/If a server crashes, a Process Watchdog restarts the server with the settings required. eg - Sacred Bronze Free Game crashes..... then a new instance is started with those settings. I am also working on creating a Client Connection App, which will allow all the players who play on the network, to share their contact details with eachother. eg There are 50 players on the SacredOpen contact list, however, they may not be in contact with eachother. If they wanted to, they could have eachother, added to eachothers contact list, allowing them to chat out of game, and organize game times.

  11. Hi Guys, I would recommend using Wippien instead of Hamachi. Im currently hosting 20 Sacred Underworld servers 24/7 on a wippien network. Its free to download, You can join the wippien network instantly - no need to use passwords, or wait for someone to accept your request etc. We have about 50 people who are on the contact list, capable of joining the servers. We get about 4-5 people a day on Bronze-Free, and Classic Games. SacredOpen@Wippien.com
  12. Hi All, I've been working on this project now for a few weeks, and am making real progress. Soon I will be opening part of it for public use. I'd appreciate some beta testers. Basically, what the project is... is an Automated method of Connecting dozens of Sacred Game Servers together, all on the same vpn, allowing players access to hundreds of game-servers. Note- This project is not just Sacred Specific, It has the potential to link 'computers' to other computers, making all game servers on that machine available to all connected persons. The way it works is this. We have a master server - I have built it in C# and it works. We have the Daemon Servers - Which will run on each game server, and maintain a connection to the Master Server. When the Daemon Server is run, it will attempt to connect to the master Server, and will handshake etc, and then register itself in the Master Servers Database. The only data that is stored, is the Daemon Servers Wippien Username. (so clients can connect). Then there will be the Client Program I will make, which also connects to the Master Server, but this is only so it can request the list of Wippien Account Names. It will download the list of accounts, and will add each of them to the Clients Wippien contact list. After this is done, Wippien will by default attempt to establish a vpn connection with all the Daemon's So, essentially, if we have 10 people, running perhaps 2 gameservers on their machines each, their wippien id's will be stored on the master server, then fed down to the clients who use the Client App, and then all 20 of the game servers will be available for the public to view.
  13. I've posted the content of the article. http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sacred:Sacred_Public_Servers Let me know if you think I missed anything.
  14. Hi GoGo. 2 things. SacredWiki says I need to request contributer privilages
  15. A new player and I just went through the above steps, and it resolved his issue. He can now see servers.
