I don't think that'll be a problem. After all, even on battlenet you can start a solo game.(At least, thats what I read on the Blizzard Forums.)

As long as it has less install/updating problems I'll be happy.

Shield Trap? Do you mean the Wizard's Slow Time skill or something?(Creates a dome shaped bubble around the wizard that slows enemies and projectiles in it I think) And yeah I can't wait for Diablo 3 as well.
