  1. . Greetings Ancarians, First of all I'd like to wish all a happy belated hibernal solstice Also I would like to thank you all for you kind words and encouragement about my situation A small update on my status: My rig has broken down, numerous files are destroyed and / or give an access error, several of which are system files. This disaster was a weird one: no other services were affected except those that were safe-guarding the system security, namely the antivirus and the firewall. Idk. what to make of that, it's just a given fact. Atm. my only web access is through a small palmtop-like system, where even typing is a royal pita. As noted before, the mod files remain intact on the clouds but atm. I have no system to work with them At Dec. 27th I will start re-building the system with upgraded security measures, this total eclipse will not be repeated.! My apologies for not having issued the alpha version of the Sophia's Armor mod yet, I hope, given the circumstances, that you understand. Best regards, tommy
  2. . yes I had some thoughts on this and I think we should take this to PM's
  3. . Greetings Ancarians Again, its been a while since my last post I have had some unexpected setbacks the last few days and things that are constantly slowing me down. The latest, I just got my 1st ever BSOD ( blue screen of death ) After the reboot my antivirus and firewall got bugged and wont start at all After a few tests it seemed that something went seriously wrong Currently checkdisk is at step 4 of 5 and about 44% progress ( after an hour of "fixing" countless references and errors, even in system files u_u ) It may take a few more hours to know how severe the damage realy is Regardless, the mod files are secure in my mailbox but the progress has stopped until I get my system back up and running I kept high hopes of having this alpha released this weekend but now I just hope my system will get back more or less intact Will keep you posted with any news ASAP cheers tommy <missing silly message>
  4. . Yeah thats the thing, thats why I said "sadly Sacred 2 doesn't do that" because AFAIK there is no % per level (growth) modifier But there are +% to all your stats, skills, attack, defense, armor ... etc. So, as your base numbers grow, those will get affected by those +% mods Anyway it takes some time to invest and investigate to balance this out cheers Wasn't it called 'path of glory' instead of 'path of gory'?
  5. . . true, that but then the set bonuses must realy be an epic upgrade for each step So, we have 7 to 9 total set parts ( depends on char class ), divide by 3 dif.levels = (2 or 3) from silver, (2 or 3) from gold and 3 from plat end bosses so every 2 - 3 set parts would have to give balanced perks to make it worth keeping/using This is an option, and actually the only hard part to do is finding a good perk balance A thing to keep in mind / check in-game: The perks have to be on par and in balance, with whatever the game drops at that given dif.level for example: you just finished gold and play a seraphim, you have 3 parts from silver and now you got another 3 parts from the gold bosses The perks for wearing 6 parts of said armor must balance to the mid-plat drops Another option would be to use percentagews for the perks. In that case, as you grow, so do the actual boni values Hmmm... any takers for this project ? Cpu says you should not start those boring office programs anymore.
  6. . Greetings Ascarians I know it's been a while, but rest assured that the progress goes well Only problem is I am on a very restrictive setup right now since my rig has no web access leaving me to access the web through a small laptop with only 8.MB video ram. I cannot even type on this thing let alone upload images Still, since I haven't had an update for so long, here are a few screenshots This one is about a week old Next 3 are fresh from the engine, taken today ( on a darker-skinned seraphim model ) Enjoy (^_^) cheers When there's a way, there's a will. When there's no will, there's a reason
  7. . The pieces are all chopped and ported, and in-game, equipable and textured My to-do list is: - edit / tweak almost all the items to make them behave more "normal" (follow more normally the physical body movement) Items still on this list: bracers, pelvis, legs, boots (that's half of 'em) - edit / tweak them to prevent them to clip through each other aswell as the body clipping through them Items still on this list: bracers, pelvis, legs (boots are being checked) - procure 8 un-used itemtype ID's (new, unused even by CM patch) - write the script additions for the alpha version - write the installation instruction Currently I have severe connectivity problems but the work on the mod is non-stop Will upload an in-game picture once I stabilize my connection cheers Downloading seraphim DNA to your computer...
  8. . Only thing is... by the time you get to niob, the silver pieces wont be of any interest anymore what this idea "needs" is am option that would enable your gear "grow" with you, then this would become absolutely awesome But then, we're talking of another game here... Sacred (sadly IMHO) doesn't do that cheers Hit any user to continue.
  9. . Bless you Flixy, right on spot on me own thoughts Now that's what I call a dead parrot
  10. . I can't think of anything that may be causing this. It "may" be a side-effect of the CM patch but then again it may not. The people from the CM Patch have a page to report things like this maybe it would be good if you went over and droped them a line or 2 Did you solve the prank ? Never deal with a dragon for you are crunchy and taste good with katsup
  11. . I am still working on some small issues, like parts clipping through other parts, but the armor is already in-game and textured and it's looking good. Would you like me to post an in-game screenshot or would you rather wait until the alpha is out? Here is another progress update, working ( skinning ) on the legs parts: cheers It's a girl and her name is Marina!
  12. . ugh... the game keeps poping out names for me, new ones that is cheers Funny bugreport #33225: Cow is standing on a bowl, head ist going out of the fence.
  13. . Usually when I take her she may actually die on the way As Wolfie said, have you tweaked balance.txt maybe at some point and forgotten all about it? cheers Downloading secret hairstyles.
  14. . aaaaand... another cheers What do you think I am doing? loading the game?
  15. . . My original 2xDVD vanilla installs version 2.02.0 of the game. ( idk how you get a version 1.0 ) On top of that you "need" to apply the 2.40 patch, and I mean NEED, because that patch does alot more than just copy the newer files ( actually it calculates the file differences ) As I said above, this specific patch installs / updates some ( newer ? ) components of Ageia or NVidia ( don't remember exactly which ) and who knows what else it does in registry and / or service registrations. The only step I see possible for you to skip is the final CMpatch, when you are ready to install that, you could instead just copy your already patched game-files over from the old PC. Uhm... about the head bashing, you know this method they are using is actually very good when your patch needs to support a variable number of previous versions ( anything between 2.02 and 2.40 ) and bring them all successfully up to date, and all this, while keeping the distribution size as small as possible ( and it still was about 1 GB large .!.! ) Its either one patch to flip 'em all or one patch per version issued, they took the 1st option ( understandable, keeps support simple (-r), maintanace low (-er)...etc.. ) cheers Be sure to visit the gift shop on your way out.
  16. . @Veraxious: I think It's the patches ( the big one that patches the game to 2.40.0 I think ) It's slow as hell and "may" sometimes throw a random exception or some such Even when it does patch without any problem, you can copy the whole folder 5-10 times over in the time it takes to compare every single file And, besides, if you have already modded things you want to keep, you need to back them up, replace them with the originals, patch & pray and finally re-apply them, a lengthy process indeed... @Nighthawk: It would be nice if you could describe the exact procedure you followed, like for example what did you patch and what did you copy. Keep in mind that the 2.40.0 patch also installs/udates/patches the PhysX engine and probably some other stuff aswell, other patches may do that also. They also "may" register newer components that your method just skips Lockups/crashes, in that case, are kinda normal cheers Loading will continue after a short message from our sponsors.
  17. . woooot I just pinned another I was hunting for a while cheers It's a girl and her name is Emma!
  18. . IMH he just needs to fall in love, that will fix all the problems ( and introduce a whole series of new ones in the process ) There's something written about a chance but I don't trust this game...
  19. . and here is the Torso part of the armor best regards Loading errors, please wait...
  20. . Exactly the reason why I dun give a fig about what reviewers say no more Usually when I see something of interrest I need a hands-on test-drive to make up me mind Sacred2: the most bug free sacred ever!
  21. . You got nothing to loose by trying it out. Normally updates/patches add and/or change registry settings tho, so this "may" not work out in the end. But since this is a new clean installation and if you have the time, try it out.! Generating god.exe...
  22. . Sweet find Uhm... I get the feeling that all silly messages are either on-purpose misquoted or othewise references, kind of pointers. Same was true for s.1 cheers (Toy Story?:)To infinity and beyond!
  23. . I visited a friend who at that time was running a local computer game store He sat me down on a PC and said "look man, you know diablo, right?" "Yeah, 'course I do" I said, not suspecting in the least what was comming at me. "There ya go, take a look at this and tell me your oppinion" says he ( with a sinister smile, I now recall ) and fires up the fresh installed game ( virgin sacred 1, just out of a box install, no toons made yet ) "OH MY DOG.!.!.!" me goes and *kaching!* is an understatement... My 'Arwen' (1st toon, a wood elf) practically playtested the game for his customers right there, in the shop and having an audience of kids and passer by's and whatnot, Arwen kept happily shooting arrow after arrow. Dude was I sold.! cheers Stop pushing that button!
