  1. Heya! If Therion is right (and I dont see anything why shouldnt) then socketing +attack rate jewelry could help a bit. Didnt tried though.
  2. Congratulations! Theese are the most beautiful moments so enjoy them! (things will change quick enough heheh ) Wish you a ton of luck and happyness!
  3. Hello I read here somewhere that someone is experimenting with exported or SC chars. I am about to delete some realy old SC char I found and I thought maybe someone could use the equipment. They are 216 and geared for perfection either a Demon Dark elf or a BM I can offer. I know they are just Softcore but why not to ask it
  4. My new dwarf at bronze mebe at silver is ready to ignite (things)! Around 30 level I think he is. Some nice fellows (namely Epox and Moon) helped to quicken things up at start
  5. its : Apr 11 2007, 04:29 PM when I write this. Not sure that helps. As far a I know I am GMT too
  6. When I came back to playing Sacred I started 2 chars to appear at the ladder: a disk demon and a Dark Elf. The Demon is at 216 now and I just started to really fly around the world with her THe DE sadly died at 200 because of a bad decision of mine and the next one died too because of ... (thats a secret). Now my 3rd DE is on a good way to get the place of the original. A few more lvls and he will be reborn as a ruthless assasin and bounty hunter. Now before I came here I didnt planned more chars but now I am full with plans and ideas waiting to make them reality. The most likely I will start a Dwarf (flamethrower) and/or a Ranged Wood Elf. The time of their creation is clouded even for me at this moment but I will consult a nearby Goblin Shaman to ask what the great spirits has to say. Csaszar
  7. Hey Claire: if you are interested in a wild experimental party (fireworks included) then lets arrange a meeting sometimes in a priv server. I happen to know a person who happens to have a full ICON set - so we could see your vamp:
  8. Hey Atm that DE I currently play is 154. I must confess I powerlevel him TILL I catch up the level of his fallen big-brother. (that will be around level 180) Luckily I got some progress at set completing too so helm shoulder and sword is left to gather. BTW Claire, I got some Thorwynn set pieces (namely helm and armor around level 100) I will try to arrange storing them if you are interested.
  9. Hi Just an idea: Lets gather with fresh level 1 chars at the main island then under the guidance of an overseer lets spread off to play hide and seek. Pvp is allowed from the start but you could try to gain xp too. At a certain point the overseer will name a place where everyone should gather and start some bloodshed. This far I didnt tried Pvp too much so maybe this isnt that good idea but I thought why not to post it?
  10. If you happen to have or find niob grade - preferably around min 160-180 - Ethan Rys Set items please dont forget about my DE who longs after such items. Thanks, Csaszar
  11. The Unorthodox Vampire In may past Vampires were among my favorite characters in Sacred. I tried out many builds concerning Sacreds cursed bloodsucker*: the Knight, the dark Hunter and the Necromanceress. But above everything I liked the Hunter who roamed the dark (or d.a.r.k.) places of Ancaria. Her lighting fast almost unstoppable attacks made every creature her prey and when the night has fallen the power she wielded increased tenfold**. Now we are discussing a way to increase her power even more. The Concept. Vampires using high level Attack CA ripping trough enemies with a fearful grace. The vampire Attack CA has the best values considering level/damage, better than any other chars Attack. With a good vamp build you could simply ignore (the bugged) Multi Hit. With this build we try (and will ) to reach the one hit per kill using Attack CA. Doing so we will use the already mentioned CA a freshly created vampire and some very important gear. The keyword for this build is Physical damage (and a lot of it) and reducing the enemies damage resistance. Every one who tried a vampire even if for a few hours noticed that she changes her for to gain most of her supernatural abilities. The shapechanging transforms most of her equipment along with her especially the weapon she holds. If you give a bow to her hand the ranged weapon would turn to a melee attack. Now this gives our Unorthodox girl the strength to overshadow every other melee build. To say it more clearly you will gain all the bonuses of a powerful ranged set without the hindraces that would affect any other not mainly ranger type char using a bow. So when you turn to vampire the bow will dissapear and you will have your normal melee claw attack BUT all the special effects of that set will stay. The Gear. This Build is built around a set item called Ettol'Rahc-Notwen's Bow (Newton Charlotte if you like). Besides good damage and nice RSM this bow (fully completed set) has a very nice set bonus: it takes away most of the physical resistance of the enemies. So first we build up a considerable physical damage then we reduce the ability of the enemies to resist it. The outcome is the Unorthodox Vampire, the unstoppable killing maschine, queen of destruction and her Majesty the Lady of Death (etc... etc...). Besides Ettol bow we would need to get 3 types of items: first: jewelry with great phys damage and/or xx% phys damage. The best would be gather jewelry with bonuses like: weapon damage physical: xx% Strength. second: gear with bonuses to Attack CA (or all Combat Arts). Best example would be Lady Magory gauntlet. third: gear with lots of RSM and/or phys regen bonus. Preferaby a good blend of them***. Socketing: Socketing is key to the success of this build. You need really high base physical damage and jewelry that either increases it even more and/or raises %phys damage. Besides the nice yellow rings with +20-26% phys damage there are certain invaluable unik jewelry we need to find/ask for/trade/beg. Seek out thoose stuff and socket them in every places. Its not that easy to balance it for the best effect but with some practice you will succeed. I propose go for damage over defense or resistance. An interesting addition for the build could be WIDD.(if you can find enough WIDD on pure phys damage type rings) The Attribute Points. This part is very simple to follow: put all points to Strength. The equipment we will use (except for the bow itself) will increase your damage trough strength so we should improve that as much as we can. Another option would be impoving Dexterity. This way you would increase damage and the ability to hit the enemies. Improving phys regen could work too but with my own Vamp I put all points into Strength and never regret that decision. Strength = increases greatly Damage, little attack rating, good HP bonus Dexterity= increases attack and defense rating and because of our bow the damage Phys Regen = increases HP and RSM. The Skill Points. For the general skill progressions you could find great tables from various sources so we wont speak too much of them here. About the general skill progression and an overview there are already some excellent guides like: http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3857 So after reading trough thoose pages let us go trough the required skills: Weapon Lore, Armor, Ranged Combat, Constitution, Vampirism, Parrying and Agility. As last skill you could choose whatever you wish. (for example Trading if you like the business women attitude) Ranged is needed for Ettol Bow and it increases your attack rate and to hit chance. Dont forget that our main weapon is a bow! As a general rule for skills: increase every skill till that point where you still see noticable increase. After all the skills you use are around level 50-70 continue increase thoose you think would serve you the most. The Combat Arts. The build uses only a few Combat Arts. Mainly the Attack CA and guardian bats, Combat Jump as support. And ...thats all required. Of course you could experiment with other Combat Arts as much as you want. Its important to read only a few attack runes. I propose that you stay at 1 read rune and get the others from item bonuses. My own Vampire has around (depending on current gear) 130 Attack Ca while read only 1 rune. That will provide you a really low regen time while a considerably high level Attack CA would help you spread havoc and destruction. Last words. Good attack, good HP, awesome damage - theese are your strengths. Sadly defense isnt really among your strongest points. You will play without a shield and you socketed your gear to have the best damage possible not really heading the need for resists. So be Vigilant! Faint-hearted are still welcomed! My own vampire using this build is my standard rune hunter**** now roaming niob and slaughtering Bosses with a few quick hits. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Having conscience is a curse for a Vampire. The question is ironical: who got the worst fate - the seraphim whos blood was sucked by thy vampire or the vampire who were cursed with conscience because of this feast. ** Literature has its own liberty. No matter her damage is paramount at night. *** For total its better to have +300 phys regen and +400 RSM than +500 phys regen OR +600% RSM **** She is created far before the ladder and lately I play only my ladder chars. (I could be so unjust to my own creations.)
  12. Hey Holding a niob min 142 Egil bow in my stash waiting for you if you are interested. I should have somewhere a couple of the rings at various lvls too.
  13. Hello Yes I miss Lezababe too. She and her goblins were the main rune providers for my early De's I--------------hiding behind a line---------------------------------------------------I just a quick note: there isnt (werent) flaming trail while on a horseback I----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I
  14. Hello! IMHO the lag issue considered with ICONS and FAD is a little too pronounced. OK Icons COULD create lag thats true. But a single wood elf will do much more using spiderarrows would make much much more. There are some mods that are really evil lagwise like xx% chanche to drop gold or open wounds. I never heard that thoose - otherwise by me highly respected players (for ex. ppl at clan DA) would complain against a Glad in Dalmar or a WE using spider arrow or anyone who overspamms thoose hideous mods. I think the really rareness of ICONS (so not everyone have it) is a part of the problem. (with a little envy maybe). I saw situations too where strongly Fad or Orla hater players (again mostly highly respected ones) performed things, what build up lags more quickly than any Fad or ICONS would do normally. Of course overusing ICONS and/or Fads isnt only lag related. I must add I dont really like builds where the main usability comes only and really only from the mentioned stuff. There is that ORLA thing too. Now I think that is really something evil. It creates Lag and more lag and much more lag until it crashes the server. Well considering full orla I am no better than UFO One more word about ICON set. Back at the PLUS days at higher levels almost each player used it. It was much easyer to get a full icons (or more fulls et) than now. But strangely we hadnt too much problem with it. So either the people changed or Ascaron servers (or both). In that case if someone would feel herself/himself offended in any way: dont! I didnt mean anything like that.
  15. Hello Everyone! I joined this forum not long ago - after gogo's invitation. I just came back to playing Sacred and I was real busy to dust my chars and start playing again. Then I lost 2 chars in 2 days (heh I was piffed off ) so I was really occupied to starting some chars over. That lead to show my (I guarantee only in this matter and only now) lack of manners: I forgot to introduce myself! So here I am: My name is Gábor sacred account: Csaszar and Csaszar2(how clever). I live in Hungary with my wife (who sadly dont want to play Sacred - not that she would have time to do it) and our wonderful little son (too young to play Sacred - but it will improve!). I am a history teacher and librarian at our National Library. My hobbies are ... well this things are given at the registration I would say I am happy that I registered here and lost thoose chars because this allowed me to met with really nice peoples like Claire and gogo in person (I mean online err... in Sacred ... while playing ) So nice to be here and I look forward playing with you, Csaszar
  16. I wrote this guide earlier but I updated it to the new standards. It could be possibility happening that I do errors and spelling things bad I dont want but happens it could*****. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dark Weapon Master and Shadow Hunter of the lightless caverns of Ancaria - The Hybrid Dark Elf Well if you choose to play a Dark Elf then you are creating the most powerful char in the game*. If you do things right you will excel in every important aspect of the game. You will have really high defense and attack, very nice Hit Points and one of the best damage in game**. This build is aimed at multiplayer but with minor changes u could play it at single too. STATS: You will need to increase only one stat and that is Phys Regen. All the other stats can be increased through item bonuses (phys regen too) and you don't need to put points in them. All points in one stat means a real and visible increase. Why phys regen? Thats the stat what lowers the regeneration of your Combat Arts (both melee and traps) and it gives you Hit Points as well. SKILLS: Trap Lore and Ballistics Its pretty obvious that u need to put skill points in these skills. Put a few points in them as soon as possible. At early lvls increase trap lore more and later some points into Ballistics. Get both skills to at least level 80. (trap lore could be increased more) Constitution Put as much point in as possible till you see very little increase. Armor Put as much point in as possible till you see very little increase. Parry Some items and sets have nice bonuses to it so u don't need to allocate too much skill points. You will mostly use a weapon + shield combo so parry could really be useful. Weapon Lore Your trap damage will benefit from this skill so its useful to increase it. Blade Combat Dont forget that this is a hybrid build. You need this skill to efectively wield your fearful Dark Elf Blades. (see Tharkane's compendium for more info) Concentration Its the second skill (beside blade combat) needed for your melee side. It lowers regen time of your melee Combat Arts and also helps with the PAK Combat Arts. COMBAT ARTS: Poison Mist Yeah thats the CA u will use mostly for killing the evil guys. At lower lvls read only 1 rune and raise it through items or runes. This way you will have low regen time. As you gain lvls and better equipment you could raise it slowly. U would feel the right time when you could begin reading all PM runes u could find. Testosterone A wonderful CA that boosts your poison damage. It raises your attack too. Testo has a WONDERFUL duration (Battle Mage buffs wont suck that much with this kind a duration) Read as much runes as you could. Adrenaline A wonderful CA that boosts your defense rating. Adre has a WONDERFUL duration. Read as much runes as you could. Attack CA While melee I advise use this CA for 'Crush Kill n Destroy'. If you make this right 2 handed Glads (sorry r00) Vampires (except my UNORTHODOX Vampire ) wont even near your damage. Read 1 rune and get the the others from item bonuses. Basically depending on these skills the game could be Managed nicely. Of course there are some other support CAs that could be useful too. Confusion and Battle Fog. Both skills are used to confuse enemies and render them unable to attack you or defend against you. Sounds nice but you want KILL them. In most cases your enemies will be dead in a few secs so no real need to use these CAs. At lower lvls they could prove useful - if u increase them heavily. IMHO increasing Testosterone (and Adrenaline) will get you further. BUT for the FUN FACTOR*** they are pretty useful. the PAK CAs - Magic Deflection and Projectile Deflection. If you plan to play in an area which has many archers or mages u definitely need these CAs. Really worth read some runes. My DE has around 150 lvls of these CAs (depending on item config). If you plan to play many in the new areas of UW u wont see too much archers or mages. Soul Catcher Absorbs the life of the fallen enemies to restore your life energy. Pretty and nice CA but not too much use. Some items could have large bonuses for it and then (and only then) its worth to raise it. With an average amount of life leech u wont be more than OK without this CA. It has Good duration. (if high enough) If you are supported with enough runes and maximized every other really useful CA you could try to raise this one. Mongoose Read a rune at the start ASAP. It will help u cross rivers and some obstacles. Explosive Charge and Bottomless Pit If you feel yourself bored with PM use these CAs for a while. You will get quickly back to Poison Mist though No real need to raise or use them.**** ITEMS: Mainly use any stuff u think will benefit you. Some sets and uniques are really great for DE so I mention a few. These are the pieces I liked to wear when played with my DE (You don't need to use exactly these equipment) Sets: Mostly I like wearing full sets but in the case of our DE I discourage you to do that. A carefully selected mixed unique/set/rare equipment will get you much more bonuses and overall would be far more useful. Ethan Rhy's Shining Custody - Armor. MF (magic find) on it. Ethan Rhy's Sneaky Enchantment - Amulet. Good fire resist + bonus to xp Huron's Dark Crown - Helm. Nice bonus to regen special move + split + bonus to PM + points to ballistics Huron's Eternal Pillars - Shoulder Guard. Regen special move + points to trap lore + a nice amount to critical Cordell's Greaves - Greaves. Bonus to speed, constitution and strength. It has also MF on it. Cordell's Dagger - Fist Blade. At lower lvls it is very useful. 3 socket + life leech + bonus to poison mist D'Brae bracer (Hell steel I think) is one of the best choices for a bracer. It gives life leech and bonus to PM. Uniques: Ice Brackets - Bracer. A very good item - my favorite. It gives a huge bonus to MF and some bonus to Battle Fog. Gordars Metal Gauntlets of Rampage - Gauntlet. A good gauntlet with 2 socket and life leech. Dexter's Chrysopras - Ring. The dream of all trapper DEs. Seek it trade for it beg for it kill for it It has a huge bonus to PM a moderate bonus to ALL CA a nice bonus to poison damage. High Shield of the Dark Elves - Shield. A very nice bonus to xp + bonus to endurance + bonus to the PAK CAs Well simply wonderful for lvling purposes. Spiral of Falling Arts - Amulet. Bonus to PM (and other trap CAs). Ornate Axe of Resting - Axe. It has very nice bonuses to regen special move, life leech and xp. (I used this axe together with High Shield) I wont mention more equipment. If u could get these you will be OK. If not then u will be OK too. For BELT and BOOTS I always used rare ones with socket and huge amount of Regen special move and/or Phys regen. And thats it. If you play multiplayer you will level your char fast to niob difficulty. For me the real challenge always begins there. With this build you will find much fun a feeling of power THE FUN FACTOR When I first tried Ethan Rys set I was dissapointed with the invisibility bonus. It wasnt a true invisibility and when you stopped next to a monster it spotted you right away. Now Ethan is much much better. It gives you complete invisibility until you attack or use a CA. That means you can explore, escape, get near to a monster (monster group) without noticed. If you attack and spotted you could halt your actions to regain invisibility. The enemies who spotted you will have one attack one you after that they cant see you. Ethans set isnt the most powerful set or combination for your char but it is really useful. I suggest you build 2 or more set of outfit for your char. One for pure trapper one full ethan for your melee or you could make a full Ethan socketed for trapper business. Either way Ethan - seeing just the numbers and calculation - isnt the best set for you. But it helps greatly enjoy the game - and thats our ultimate goal right? Besides Dark Elves are sooooooo powerful you will manage easily with this hindrace. * Of course thats my opinion only - but there are facts to proove it ** Under special conditions more builds can reach higher damage. But overall DE has the best damage potential and the ability to do it continously. *** FUN FACTOR is inmportant part of this build. Thats why we do it hybrid. **** Dark Elves based on this chars could be also pretty fearful and powerful. Just simply not that good as PM. ***** Forgive me for the grammatical errors and misspellings. My native language isn't english.
  17. This is my previously written build. I updated (then updated again) a little and taken out outdated things. I am not native english speaker so forgive me my mistakes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Poisonous Hurricane from the endless toxic wastes - Csaszar's GoW BM guide This guide is based on my greatly succesful but now retired* BM. He was a full GoW user so no other main attack spell. Of course if u feel the need you could choose some other form of attack however I never felt the need to do it. (a true GoW mage will use poison and only poison to defeat his enemies and if built right he will do that very good!) STATS: All points to mental regen. Quite simple. The higher your Mental Regen the better. SKILLS: absolutely required skills: Magic Lore Meditation Air Magic Constitution I think there isn't too much to speak about the above skills. advised skills: Parry: Good defense and an additional defense bonus when using shield. This build will use while lvling the char a two handed weapon but after maxing him out OR when u feel him enough leveled already I suggest using a shield/weapon combo. Trade: I didn't like this skill at all but for BM is a natural choice. You have many options at skill choosing and BM has many sets having huge bonuses to trade. Besides trade could come handy because you will need to shop for some stuff regularly. the last 2 skills: Choose what you want. I picked agility for the added defense but it is really not necessary. If you want pick an another magic skill like: earth magic, water magic or fire magic. If I would redo my char I would pick fire magic and/or earth magic. Of course you could try to get more magic skills instead of Trade but picking too many of them is of no use. Long handed could help too because its not that hard to get the +xx% poison damage Orla rings. MAGIC SPELLS: GoW (Gust of Wind): This will be your main spell. GoW is a strong and a very useful way to destroy anyone who opposes you. Of course poison trolls and undead (and some other non demon poison resistant creatures) will cause trouble at lower lvls so try to avoid them. GoW has many wonderful features. It will shock your enemies and throw them back. At lower lvls this will help you to stay alive And GoW has a very nice regen time. Much better than ice shard or other attack spells. To use GoW efficiently you will need 2 things: high level of GoW AND added bonus to poison damage. At lower lvls the blacksmith s arts could help and later you will find rings with +20-26% to poison damage. At the ITEMS section there will be additional info on this. You need to raise GoW as high as you could while maintaining regen time under 1 sec. (I use level 300 Gow with 0.7 sec) GM (Ghost Meadow): The bread and butter of your BM. Raise it as high as possible. An max it out. GM enhances your Mental Regen so every increase in MR will net you better and better results. So raise GM AND socket/wear stuff with bonus to MR. Max duration is 180 sec. Flameskin: A very nice spell. It damages (a little) your enemies adds to fire resists (a nice bonus) and defends you from ranged attacks. Its advised to raise it till it reaches its max duration 120 sec. I raised it more because of the increased damage and resists. Stoneskin: Gives Phys and Poison damage and some defense bonus. Greatly needed at the first part of your adventure lesser in the later part. Its advised to raise it till it reaches its max duration 120 sec. Shield Wall: Gives magic resists and some other resists too. Its advised to raise it till it reaches its max duration 120 sec. Those are the spells I use. If you picked fire magic skill you could use fire spiral too. It could be useful against Demons. (Demons are resistant to GoW throw back effect). UPDATE Whirlwind: Just recieved word that this spell beside its ranged defense and damage does a pretty nice DISARMING. THis feature (I am not 100% sure its new or it was in older versions too) opens a lot new possibilities for this build. Important that Whirlwind needs to be (the same or) higher level than the enemies to have its disarm effect. No matter something interesting to try out! EQUIPMENT: I strongly advise to get the full Amarri set as soon as possible. Its aimed for Air Magic and has some nice other bonuses like +xx to GoW and +xx% damage against Demons. The best part of the set is the "secret damage". Its an added damage based on your original damage. Using Amarri will take the slot for: HELM ARMOR BRACER GREAVES and BELT. So your hands (staff or weapon and gloves) will be free as your boots. For Boots I advise to trade (or get from drops) a socketed good boots with bonus to GoW and spell regen. For gloves I propose to use the unique Elohnir gloves if u could get one (any other socketed glove with good spell regen and/or GoW bonus will do if u cant get Elohnir) Weapon slot: I prefer the weapon + shield combo. Get a nice weapon with damage/mf/spell bonus and find a shield with the same. I used Blessed Blade of enlightement and Kite shield of the GUild. At lower lvls TRY TO GET AS MANY SOLWEMYRS rings as you could. Use and socket at every available place that xp + leech solwemyr ring. You could get nice xp bonus and enough leech very easy with that plus it has a bonus xx to Mental Regen - which u need as high as possible. If you could get any jewelry with great MR bonus consider using it. WHERE TO PLAY (lvling): As soon as you are able try to get to VOT. When you arrive through portal shoot some GoW to make place then try to run till the Sakkaras. If you played in VOT already you will know what place I mentioned. Try to run past pods and other creatures stopping only if needed. Read some water form runes cast it then you are clear to go. As soon as you get to Sakkaras finish those who are still following you and begin the massacre. The mean and evil and big and dreaded Sakkara demons are lacking poison resist ENTIRELY. If you could get there you will have a relatively easy job even at lower lvls. Those Sakkara demons will net you the BEST xp in game and a mentor could do wonders. If you didn't tried it before you wont be able to imagine how many xp could be gained there. Just a note: Playing and lvling at VOT nowadays is much more dangerous than earlier. High dangers but still very rewarding. Despite the dangers that VOT offers more and more people (sadly they have some really valid resons to do so) are against to do this massively and will consider it as power leveling. IMHO PW is part of Sacred (and any other games of this genre) and shouldnt be viewed as lowly as now. As long as the player TRIES to improve his or her other abilities and the ultimate goal isnt just to get max level (then forget the char) I dont see this that much problem. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you gained enough lvls and wearing full amarri and raised GoW pretty high you will be able to defeat most of the creatures what Sacred Underworld could send against you. If you picked other magic skills it would be even more easier but after my experience you could do fine only with Gow. I wish good luck and many happy hours playing this one! * After some lag accident he found himself in a strange unknown world: Softcore. He tried his best to find a portal back home but fate was cruel. After he went into a deep depressive state I - with all due respect - deleted him.
