  1. Hi Claire: Sure it is possible to change thoose skills but if I would do that that would bean a brand new guide Writing a new guide wouldnt be a problem (ofc ) but I am pretty sure the leftover skills are subjects of further changes too. The Zone 3 update seems to be a fine point to start writing guides again.
  2. Hi UPDATE With the newest patch (Jan) things have changed again. The above build was based on Napalm and Seeking Shot - and both of thoose skills were greatly changed. The game is beta so its normal to expect this When zone 3 is out I will update the Gadgeter build with a hope that patch will be a bit more "final"
  3. Hi Hehe you have beat me with this a few mins
  4. Hi I think Dungeon runners and mythos are two different games. The install version of Mythos is about 300 megs and its downloadable from the Mythos site. The invitation is very important: without that you cant set up an account - and without an account there is no way to play the game.
  5. Hi Hehe personal preferances are simply personal preferances... where were we? Ah yes! Yes you are right Freelancer is much better! Lol Ok So try to play freelancer with mods: The Lancer's Reactor Lancers seems a bit abandoned atm but normally there are a ton of mods downloadable.
  6. Hi *The force is always stronger at the dark side*
  7. Hi : And here is it Ladies and Gentlemans... I present you The Mighty Suppressor, the Crazy Tinker, the Heroic Lad, the Piercing Barrage who covers all, the Neverending Thunder, the Burning Sea of Fire ... I present you the one and only... The Mighty Eater of souls... The Marksman Gadgeter Base class: Gadgeter Dominant skill tree: Marksman Secondary skill tree(s): - possibly Tinker - II. Stats Before the latest patch Dexterity was - without doubt - the most important attribute to a Marksman, dexterity gave direct bonus to damage. Now (2008.01.07) its role is only to fulfill the requirement to equip a rifle. That frees up a lot of skill points to raise Vitality and Wisdom. Technically it should be something like this: * Full Dexterity until around 20-25. To equip the currently best rifle (and equipment) around 140 dex is needed. Of course in the near future its more than possible that new weapons & equipment will come trough patches so going over 140 Dex wont be a waste. * After reaching a certain pont 3/2 or 2/3 Vit/Wis will help you with your life and manam reserves III. Skills This build is based on my own Elite level 40 Gadgeter. While other kind of marksman builds are also viable I found this one a strong and reliable one (IMHO this is the strongest Gadgeter build). Most important skills: Napalm (and Wildfire) + Seeking shot. Napalm and its upgrades present you a very strong Area of Effect (area of effect) attack. Napalm starts to rock when you get the first rank in Wildfire. That means you put your first 7 skill points into tier (this is 1 from quest 6 from being level 3) then when hitting level 4 you put 1 point into Napalm. From this point on you are continuing to put (waste ) points into the tier to free up the next line of skill choices. When you reach level 10 you can choose to pick lotsa (mostly passive) skills - including Seeking Shot - OR continue to raise the tier to get Wildfire (the bread and the butter of this build). Personally I would say pick thoose other skills first. They need only 3 lvls of skillpoints (6 total) and they are fun. Having Seeking Shot (with Suppressive Fire) means you are pretty good Boss (hero, champion) killer. Owning special bosses like Tinus are quite possible this way - even with really low char level. (I did it at level 7 in Elite). At level 15 the glorious moment will arrive: you put the first skill point into wildfire. From this point on the whole experience of playing your gadgeter will change forever. Wildfire will turn your Napalm a deadly area attack. Skill point allocation: 1-7 Tier 8 Napalm 9-14 Tier 15 Seeking Shot 16 Suppressive Fire 17 Tinker 18 Critical Modifications 19 Rally 20 Insight .................................... level 10 .................................. 21-28 Tier 29 Wildfire 30-38 Tier .................................... level 20 ................................. 39 Blistering Heat 40 Penetrating Fire 41-45 Wildfire 46-47 Napalm 48-52 Blistering Heat 53-57 Tinker ...................................... level 30 ............................ 58-60 Suppressive Fire 61-65 Seeking Shot 66-69 Insight 70-73 Rally 74-78 Penetrating Fire ....................................... level 40 ........................... 79-80 Suppressive Fire 81-87 Critical Modifications 88-92 Black Powder 93-94 Penetrating Fire 95-97 Napalm ...................................... level 50 ............................. 98-99 Leftover Points http://www.mythoscalc.net/skillcalc.php?c=...s1506s1708s1906 IV. Gear Use your common sense and the currently best gear when selecting equipment Important: - Rifle: if its possible try to get and enchant that goblin gun from the Tulin main line quests. (that gun has a min 55 dex req but its damage is a way higher than his "normal" counterparts.) Get it with an another char and pass it to your Gadget. - Life leech: this one of THE most important item modifier. Accumulate a much % as you can. It will help you stay alive long enough. (my own gadget has 30/24%) - Stun: this is again a very very important and useful item modification. Either socket enough Jade into your rifle or find a good one already with stun. Stun along with wildfire could mean lotsa stunned enemies V. The base of this build After Elite mode came out I started Sacred-Csasz, the Gadgeter on whom this guide is based. He is a highly successful and very strong character with (still) lotsa luck(MF) at his disposal. If you know the game enough this will tell much about this build: this char is quite able to solo Elite Epic maps 5-8 lvls higher. I hope I will see many fellow gadgeter soon!
  8. Hi I have played and enjoyed both games Freelancer and Starlancer. For my gaming style I liked Freelancer better - especially with the numerous mods available. (like TNG or Aurora for example)
  9. Hi Har den äran på födelsedagen! I hope it means Happy Birthday!
  10. Hi I am very happy to present you the first Mythos char guide posted on FDM! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things with Mythos is a bit of experimental nature so the guide format is also open to changes. If you have any ideas what/how to do different pls dont hesitate to tell that. I would like to use the this guide as a template for future guides so lets create the best template ever ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cinderbabe I. Name: Cinderbabe Base class: Pyromancer Dominant skill tree: Cinderblade Secondary skill tree(s): Flamecaster, Coalsmasher II. Stats In Mythos its a very useful and wise strategy to concentrate your stat points to a single attribute for a few lvls. Since the items in Mythos are not level based you could equip very nice gear bery soon. A soon as you have the required number of Str (for example) you are able to equip a STR item. Its easy to see the benefits of getting bonus STR equipment to be able to eqip even better equipment (following the previous example). Its quite possible that a level 10 char would wear a nice end game suit and weapon. (of course you need to have the suit first AND it needs to mount lotsa STR bonus). Of course I am not saying that you should put all your stat points into one attribute - but to concentrate the first 10-15-20 easy to get lvls. That would mean you are able to wear the top gear wich is MUCH more important than put a few points into the other stats too early. stat allocation for this build Put all points into Str until you reach 150-200 str - with added str gear if you think that gear is good enough to wear in the future too. Importance of high STR: #1, able to equip higher quality STR gear and (most important) better Weapons #2, STR gives direct damage bonus - a very visible and useful bonus! * After reaching enough STR you could spend a few points into Wis and Vit. This could depend on your actual gear. * Also viable to put 3 str 1 vit 1 wis at each lvlupp. * Going absolutly full STR is doable too - that way you will need to work on your equipment a bit more to have enough + mana and + life on them. III. Gear In Mythos Gear plays a very important role - especially the different weapon types. The more damage you do the faster you kill. The faster you kill: #1, the more safe you are #2, the faster you level. Another importance for gear is to raise stats, life, mana, life leech .. etc etc. Item modifiers are very important and they could mean the difference. IV. Skill points 1-7 Tier 8 Burnin Arc 9-10 Burning Focus 11-15 Brilliant aura 16-21 Tier 22 Fanning the Flames 23 Internal Flame 24-39 Tier 40-44 Burning Swath 45-49 Charging Focus 50-52 Burning Focus 53-57 Brilliant Shards 58-63 Fiery Weapon ----------------------this is the core build---------------------- I suggest: 64 Ignite 65-70 Conflagration 71-74 Burning Arc 75-85 Flamewielder 86-95 Internal Fire 96-99 Spirit Tap you can check this build also in mythoscalc: http://www.mythoscalc.net/skillcalc.php?c=...s2801s3006s4610 Your Most Important skills Burning Arc - Our primary attack. Extreemly useful. I advise you to not raise it to max too early. Its already high damage and the stun is bugged (not happening as frequent as it should have) but it has also a high mana requirement (8) which will scale even higher. Brilliant Aura - It gives defense while lowering your total mana. Max it as soo as possible along with its upgrade Brilliant Shards. For the low and middle lvls it gives a huge bonus. Later its usefullness will lessen but still worth to use. The Focus skills - Increasing Crit chance by a huge amount (30%) and giving damage bonus after every succesful critical hit. This skill line is important to max as soon as possible. V. The base of this build The above build is based on my normal, level 40 CinderBabe. She was (now retired) extreemly successful and when tried out after the new patch still could stand her ground against max level epic mobs. ******************************************************************************** I hope you found this lil guide informative enough and you are now tempted to start a Cinderblade. If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask! Csaszar
  11. Hi May the Dark side of the force be with you! I sense ... yes I sense a disturbance in the force.... maybe our path will cross again... soon. Maybe sooner you would think... I wish you all the best EM! Csaszar

  14. Hi There are still some features unexplored in the recent patch. As we are used to it new patch = new bugs But overall this (so called) 2.5 update made huge changes to the game - mostly improvements. Some skills were balanced (or screwed ) some of them were left unchanged. The guild system came online and most importantly there is thwo new type of play: Elite and Hardcore. The item colouring were changed and the items itself were buffed a lot in some areas. One of the most funny improvements: - my new Elite Gadgeter As he progresses further I will try to comment on the new patch more!

  16. Hi Good Luck with that Funki! When the Guild system appeared I started a guild named Sacred Refugees. Hehe I was just about to post it when we met Funki. For my part I am staying at Sacred Refugees and joining all my accounts under that guild. If you or anyone else playing the normal version of Mythos is in need of some kind of gear desperately or short in money my Gadgeter (49) is ready to help [he is sitting on 300 gold and filled some mule chars with lotsa items]
