  1. Thanks gogo. However, I kinda feel undeserved of the praise. I mean, although I've been playing for years, the amount of builds and info about Sacred in this forum is downright staggering. I used to think that I was quite experienced in this game, but seeing some of the builds here is, to say thr least, humbling. I mean, Gladiator with crossbow? Never once I thought about that. Even more surprising, it works! So yeah, I too await another input for XP related things. Who knows what new info I would learn haha
  2. Ah, a fellow Gladiator! Morituri te salutant! (somehow I always think that Gladiator haven't got enough love in Sacred...) I am neither as experienced nor knowledgeable as some of senior membera here, but I can give you some answers. 1. Levelling From level 1-50, it's pretty much a smooth sail. Btw, start in Silver. Bronze just not worth the hassle. From 50 onward, Potion of Mentor + Fist of the Gods/Attack + Valley of Zhurag Nar/Tears + good fire weapon are your friends. I always play Single so I have no idea about how fast you can go from 50-100 in MP. But the fastest I ever did with Gladiator is about 1.5-2 days worth of playtime (not consecutive of course). Granted, I jumped to Gold and Platinum very early, it was quite hard (think soloing Hell Diablo /players 8 hard) initially, but it's entirely doable. From 100 onward, Valley of Tears is your second house of slaughter. Preferably in Platinum and/or above. But you're gonna need good gears for this. Right now my Gladiator is level 137 in Platinum, but that's because I'm doing all the quests (a habit of mine). 2. Mod for increased xp Oh yes, there is. I actually used to have one. It basically allows you to set up a dummy LAN server and set the player number. Monsters, loots, and XP will scale accordingly. But I uninstalled it because it broke certain quests and sometimes gave me WAAAYYY more XP than it should have. I once killed D'Cay (undead dragon in the desert) with a Dwarf that had just levelled up in Gold (he was level 62 IIRC). He INSTANTLY gained 2 LEVELS after he killed D'Cay, Holy Hannah!... 3. Niobium Additional info, unless you know what you're doing, don't rush into Niobium. You absolutely, definitely, totally need good gears with stellar defense AND resistance. Even a lowly bandit can chop high levelled but poorly equipped char in seconds there. Ice elves laser could 1 shot you, and Dark Elves kick almost 1 shot my Seraphim back then. I hope those helps, have fun playing
  3. @Augmint 1. Hm, yes I remember that. If it will still provide bonus, it's great then! 2. Thanks a lot for the old thread, it fully answers my confusion. 3. LOL! So that's what Split does? No wonder my Seraphim (level 175) back in 2008 sometimes "failed" to kill mobs with Lightning Bolt. I thought it was a bug because in my language Split means "cleave" so I thought it was some kind of instant-kill or super critical. Thanks for the explanations and vids! 4. Eh, guess I'll pass then. Bunny ears would look cute on my Seraphim but absolutely NOT on Gladiator lol. On the other hand, you are very knowledgeable about this game. How long have you been playing? Is this game supports multiplayer like battle.net? LAN is useless because no one knows about this game here and try as I might, I could never make either open or closed internet works. Thanks for your answers. For now, I already have a clear plan for my Gladiator
  4. @Augmint Sorry, just saw your reply. Thanks again for the site. Wolfe' Lair is very informative. I have another few questions though, hope you wouldn't mind: 1. In Wolfe's Lair, it's mentioned that a skill max level is 255 with items. Say that I have a 216 Trading. With my current Trading suit (+124 Trading), it will be level 340. Will the additional level still provide bonus? 2. Does Heroic Courage has some kind of "Hard Cap"? Mine currently, with gears on, is level 135. From level 130 I saw no incease in both Attack and Defense although the tooltips says it should. Is this a bug? 3. What is Split? In my 10 years of play, I have never tried this one item mod. 4. By "mod" do you mean trainers? The one that will make you grow bunny ears when you use it? Thanks in advance
  5. @gogoblender Thanks for the warm welcome, gogoblender. Well, I always like HnS ARPG. Titan Quest, Diablo II (don't play Diablo III, feels so WEIRD), Restricted Area, Dungeon Siege II, Sacred 1 and 2. Needless to say, Diablo II holds the number 1. Tough to compete with this. Sacred 1 is the runner-up, I love the complexity and the increases every little buffs give you. You really feel like your character is growing with you (literally in my case). Storyline might as well not be there, but I always prefer combat and items much more than the story itself (unless the story is really uber-awesome). Dungeon Siege II (haven't played I) get the Bronze. It has good storyline, nice complexity, and the graphic that ages well. Overall a great game. The only downside is the graphic sometimes feel rather cartoonish and the items sometimes look ridiculous. Thing is, I can never delve into Sacred 2 too much. Something just didn't feel quite right. Titan Quest is just way too short and simple for my taste. A bit overrated I say. Always have a soft spot for Divine Divinity. Guess the rose-tinted nostalgia glasses does affect me more than I'd like to admit (I never like Beyond Divinity). Restricted Area, another German-made game has quite a bit potential, but it's extremely BORING and REPETITIVE. Path of Exile is hair-tearingly complex it's confusing. Play it, dislike it.
  6. Thanks Augmint, bot for the reply and the thread. It's a good read. 1. Wow. So my build is somehow closely resembles Rooster's. It's good to know that 10 years of playing Sacred on and off is not for nothing, lol. 2. Yes, I do place different elemental weapons in each slot. To be specific: 1st for Physical, 2nd for Fire, 3rd for Magic, 4th for Poison, and 5th for vs. Undead. 3. Yes, I have done Braverock's dual merchant quest and I did shop there regularly (switching back and forth between merchant to refresh their stock). I was actually surprised that this is actually intended and not a bug, I was pretty damn sure it was a bug lol. However, I haven't been shopping since late Gold because I'm kinda lazy. 3. Yes, I do have a trading suit. It gives me +98 Trading total. Is this too low? 4. Perhaps because I'm playing Single, but Lorgar's Amulet is EXTREMELY VERY RARELY DROPPED here. The last time I got one was in Silver and its stats are pitiful now. Any recommendation for farming it? 5. I forgot to mention that I haven't upgraded my arms since mid Gold. I just did (after about 20 hours+ shopping, not in a row of course). Now my Fire arms do around 50k (HH) and 140k (FotG) against weakness. A substantial increase, but very time consuming as well. 6. I keep each of my arms single elemental respective to their base element. I believe this is easier to control and manage. Should I mix the elemental damage (add Fire to Poison, etc)? 6. I guess it's time to convert a chest worth of runes I've been keeping lol. I'm also gonna increase my other 3 skills as well, thanks for the suggestion. All in all, I was VERY surprised that I miss only in a few aspect, given that I have never read any guide and always play Single. What intrigued me the most is Trading. Is Trading really the only way to get a good gear from Gold and above? Granted, I'm gonna look further into the forum for this particular skill, but is it possible to get OMGSOAWESUM gears from killing things (I don't really like shopping)? And oh, I no longer need to increase Weapon Lore past 100 mark? That's 11 points gone... Do you know any way to reset skill points? If not, then well, guess I'll live with it then. Should I only raise Concentration and Constitution to only 100 mark as well? Thannks in advance
  7. Hello, I am Bhuja. I have been playing Sacred for nearly 10 years now, on and off of course, always in SP because I can say with certainty that almost no one has ever heard about this game in my place. Thus, imagine my surprise when I discover that Sacred actually has a dedicated forum. My main char is a level 111 Gladiator. He's currently in Platinum. His skills are: 1. Weapon Lore - 111 2. Concentration - 95 3. Constituion - 90 4. Dual Wielding - 1 5. Armor - 1 6. Agility - 1 7. Parrying - 1 8. Trading - 111 Now for some facts and assumptions: -I play Sacred Gold -I have no need for specific weapon lore because in my experience Dual Wielding override them. -Agility, Parrying, and Armor for defense because I have no shield. -I only ever raise Strength for stats. -I have 1 in all Combat Arts except for Heroic Courage with 32 runes read. -My main Combat Arts are Fist of the God and Hard Hit. -I use complete Raane's Audacity set. -With all gears on, I have: 15k attack 16k defense Level 29 FotG, 1.2s cd, about 84k damage average Level 24 HH, 0.8s cd, about 35k damage average -I have never read any guide. I use my experience and trial-and-error method for this build. Now, my questions are: 1. Are my assumptions above correct? How many are wrong? 2. Is this time to switch for another set? If so, which one? I have complete Dalmar, Andiell, and Lorgar set. 3. Am I doing low/average/good damage for my level? 4. How can I improve my Gladiator? Thanks in advance
