  1. Thats a debit card Debit cards are far more common in Hungary, iirc 90%+ of all plastic cards are debits. For a minor with no regular income a credit card might not be even a possibility here.. if it is then its very expensive. Most banks offer cards intended to be used for online purchases, usually called "web cards" or "online cards" like this These come with higher security standards, requiring confirmation by phone before every transaction and such.. but they are usually linked to bank accounts that are not available for minors and/or very expensive to maintain. Some years ago I was also searching for some safer alternative, but the maintenance fees were so high for other cards (compared to my measly uni grant at least) that I just settled for a regular debit card. But then it was some years back.. and dont take my word for any of this .. Ive demonstrated a complete ineptitude in finances in all my exams also: debit card = betéti kártya credit card = hitelkártya
  2. I meant avant garde in the vein of Sigh or maybe even Arcturus ... like this ... as opposed to the "darkened Motorhead” style of the first wave
  3. 1. Almost everything I could say.. Heavy Metal – goes without saying Thrash – cant go wrong with it as long as its real thrash … The Haunted is not. The more oldschool sounding the better. Power metal – preferably power metal with balls. Though, from time to time, I put on my Rhapsody tshirt and sing Power of the Draaaagonflame out loud. Doom – with all of its subgenres from the traditional sound to funeral doom, everything Folk metal – this is fun stuff. A good listen while drinking but there aren’t many bands that I really appreciate from the musical point of view. Fun nonetheless. Especially when played live Black metal – ok, its tough. I listen to a lot of black metal, yet I cant stand the typical bm sound. I took my time to familiarize myself with it, and while Ive found some bands I liked I got bored of it very quickly. Ok, 'its not music, its war' but I rather listen to some catchy riffs instead. what I do love is the: first wave, which may or may not be considered black metal today. Venom, Bulldozer, Hellhammer, early Bathory, Tormentor raaawwr This includes early bands that developed a quite different sound, one that seems very “avant-garde” today. Like Master’s Hammer. Technically they don’t fit here, but Im adding the modern bands playing blackened heavy metal here too. Black/thrash: considered more black than thrash. Probably my all time favourite genre of all the greek scene: or any band with the typical greek bm feel to it 2. Im a purist so no 3. Death metal is something I rarely listen to. Cant say I hate it, I could just never get into it. I do love some old bands though, Morbid Angel, Possessed etc but probably because they were still very thrashy. So while Im not really familiar with the current state of death metal, there is definitely more to it than just cookie monster vocals, from what I can see and hear, its a very demanding genre technically at least. I’d suggest giving Decrepit Birth a try, they are one of the few modern bands I like. And Quo Vadis too, for more a melodic sound. Im tempted to give youtube links, but Im too lazy right now
  4. some questions from a squishy caster: I see that rogues rely heavily on evasion ... and as I’ve seen with other aspects of the game.. the stats of the mobs scale more than yours as you progress further into the game. Is it the same for evasion? I mean do you have to reinforce evasion religiously to make it worthwhile? How much evasion does a rogue have around lv50? My very wild guess would be around 3000-4000? (I may be completely off here) And do you think a class with different specialization would benefit at all from less evasion? Would some evasion do ANY good, or would it be negligible?
  5. Those files get deleted after patching, try running a search for RTP files, they may still be in a temporary folder Stubbie, 00000081.RTP is only the first part of the big patch iirc .... you should try manually downloading all the files, then just copy them into the patches folder here http://www.rapidshare.com/files/141033953/...h70-81.zip.html and here http://www.rapidshare.com/files/141037772/...h82-92.zip.html there may be more, Ive lost track of them..
  6. Yes, thus Zs is not s but /ʒ/ aka voiced postalveolar fricative aka zju
  7. Dz is pronounced /dz/ (as in Hudson) Zs is /ʒ/ as in vision Most of our digraphs correspond to English letters in pronounciation, notable example is the Gy, which is not used it English at all. It sounds somewhat similar to "due" /dju:/ As for how they are used ... they are individual letters and cant be separated
  8. hey Ari :) hope you and your family are doing well *hugs*

  9. Dont know… if the shaman doesnt get aggro, it means they are not doing their job right Ideally ofc they should be safe, the problem here wasnt the lack of taunt, but that the first line kept going down. Even the warriors with their dumbed down taunt were able to keep aggro quite well until they died. But then chaos ensued. I was running around like crazy trying to tell who had aggro then trying to get them in healing range. We had two commanders in party, but both were quite low level, the 60+ warriors were weathering much better. An other shaman started kiting when he got aggro, was damn annoying because it made the party spread out so much that my party heals became dysfunctional. And with that Area of Effect damage the dragon has…
  10. From my point of view it looks something like this: 1. I head out trying to find some mobs. For the first time, respawn times seem to be awfully long 2. When ganto goes lololol I know I have enough mobs on my back 3. I start running back to him, relying heavily on the power of my prayers that I wont get hit too hard. I have mana shield on, so I lose mana instead of health, but if I run out of mana Im a sitting duck 4. Wait for the moment when the mobs are nicely packed together then I sleep 4 of them, and use blunt strike on a 5th one to stun him for 4 sec, buying some time. At this point there are 3-4 mobs hitting me or ganto. If my mana is getting dangeruously low, its spirit potion time. Ganto starts playing with his fire spells. 5. Here I should have time for 2-3 heals before the first sleep expires and I can cast it again. I prefer to use lesser heal and maybe even lesser party heal before my moderate heal; both are less powerful but have a shorter casting time. Noticed that the key here is the timing, if I can finish casting my power heal just the moment before the sleep’s cooldown reaches zero, we’ll be fine. Ganto continues to cast pretty looking spells. 6. Picking a mob randomly in the middle of the group, hoping that he’s enough health left and wont die before I can finish casting the second sleep. If ganto’ s health doesnt allow a 2 sec downtime in healing I dont even attemp to cast sleep a 2nd time, I just go into heal-only mode. More healing, and watching the mobs die. 7. Looting, hopping/bouncing around, then rebuffing paranoidly Ganto socketed some HP into his gear, and it really helped, now we only have troubles if we get some unexpected adds. I still need more mana as there’ no way I can safely pull this many elites without mana shield on. Im gonna have to redo my whole gear, will cost me a fortune... This is indeed some very effective griding, I can acually see my xp bar move for the first time since lv40 or so. Even better that the two uf us squishies can pull it off relatively safely now
  11. Some pics of the deepest pit of hell aka Secret Lab we spent the past days (weeks…) Sets are finally completed, and we are freeeeeeeeeee
  12. Almost the same thing. My grandparents spoke polish but their parents werent from poland. One side goes back to a little town called Kijo and another called Puste Pole, and the other side goes to somewhere in "austria-hungary" which could be quite a few locations now ... the ships didnt track home towns very carefully around 1900, they were just another immigrant at the time. As far as Ive been able to figure out Kijo and Puste Pole are in the white carpathian mountains. As to which country to subscribe them too I havent a clue with all the border changes in the last 120 years. Neither town is large enough for me to find using the internet accurately. But the food was always good and plenty of it (both grandparents went through the great depression here in the US, grandma cooked for an army partly due to the ghosts of not having enough from her childhood) Now if I could just find someone who can make pagatch (sp?) ... think slavic pizza ... Both are very small villages actually. Pusté Pole (Kriványpusztamező in Hungarian) didnt even exist as an independent village until the 1950s I think, it was part of Krivany. Kijó is the Hungarian name for the other village, its known as Kyjov in Slovakian. Both are in Slovakia, though the region was part of Hungary, later Austria-Hungary until 1920. Pagáč is easy to make, though Im not sure how the authentic recipe goes. What Ive had was something like this
  13. The beta build is only viable until lv40, I was just throwing in skills randomly after that anyway, and now in the 40s, Im starting to feel that playing full support is a pain. Musings of a would-be radiant templar... Elec bolt becomes obsolete in the 40s, and leaves the healer with some questions… How can you solo? or How can you contribute in a small grind party? While I could level in the late 20s by some questing and running RoL despite its mediocre xp, now there’s some serious grinding to be done. So what are the options? The completely awesome Sleep just screams for Area of Effect damage, and I was curious what Glaring Light can do. Alright, its a Tempest spell, available only up to lv3 for Templars/Radiants. And in all honesty, at that level it's kinda like my character, it looks pretty but not very effective when it comes to killing. Especially when you don’t prioritize INT. Next option I’m playing with is melee. Now even if you have the self preservation instincts of a lemming, going melee with the lowest HP class of the game doesn’t look like a particularly bright idea. Yet it seems to be better than any mediocre damage spells available to healers. And you have Godly Mirror on your side, providing you 65% chance of surviving every hit, and better and better damage as the mobs are hitting harder. Still musing on what melee skills to pick. Blunt strike stuns, which is always nice… Weapon of God though only rank 1 is available is party friendly… Problems Im encountering here Surviving the hits you take for one. I’m thinking of throwing in a few more points for Rejuvenation though I’m not completely convinced that the 45 HP regen (with DNA, not that I could afford it) will save me in the long run. And while I reinforced a considerable amount of HP, there’s no way I can melee say nightmares, which already hit for 700+ dam. It somewhat renders a high level Sleep useless. Yet I don’t feel investing in sleep was a waste. Though a lv2 Sleep would be enough for a support toon, the added extra seconds and better range of a higher Sleep saves my life all the time. Great for crowd control when mobbed. I use a staff as its better for healing (more MND), so switching to a one handed bludgeon is problematic because I have to equip a shield too As for other skill choices… I still find the lv5 lesser heal to be a good choice. With the swift lesser heal DNA, it has a casting time of 0,5 sec, making great to spam and it also acts as my panic button Lv5 lesser party heal on the other hand is a waste. It’s convenient to have, but usually only the tank needs healing, so once the moderate heal comes in at lv40, you can alternate lesser heal and moderate heal. Thanks to the MND I keep socketing, both my mana pool and regen are fine at this point, so more concentration isn’t really needed (only at lv2 atm), may put spare points into the party friendly Blessed Revelation. When Mana Shield comes in, I will probaly need more regen anyway.
  14. Congratulations and best wishes :cha (18): You could name her Sarah? With a S? I remember a couple of years ago foreign names werent allowed.. but that may have been a long time ago actually...
  15. Mkay I’ll keep this account for personal use then list updated
  16. Frustrated over the lack of storage space I set up a mule account yesterday so that I can finally stack up on items for future toons. I’ll try to list the transferred item here, available for anyone if needed. Frezia set minus gloves – lv20 ordinary set for magic users, not comparable to to supernus sets, slightly better than ordinary items though Khrentium set minus upper armor – same for non magic toons Lamenting cry boots – bad, disorganized and greedy party makes enci roll on Cry set Lamenting sound lower armor Lamenting sound gloves
  17. Please, stubbie, there’s really no need to leave. I’m pretty sure we can resolve this. Also I don’t think we need an in-guild item distribution system just yet, we’ve always been able to share loot very fairly However I don’t agree that we can ignore how everybody else behaves outside our little guild. There is simply so few of us that we can’t run an instance on our own even if everybody is online. For some reason I usually seem to be entrusted with inviting people, so I try to expand my friends list with players I’ve enjoyed partying with. Yet I’m not comfortable inviting them for our runs as I know that all of them oppose greed rolling. So no, until we have a healthy amount of players, we can’t just ignore others. We can also invite random people (as we usually do) but same issue may arise anyway and I’d rather have reliable players in our group than those who will potentially get us wiped. Beside, for a few more weeks at least, I’m planning to play quite a lot, outside of our regular timeframe, so I’ll have to resort to pick up groups. And this might have been the real question here, yes, I’d be more comfortable wearing a guild tag that doesn’t say ”roll for whatever”. I know I can’t force everybody here to agree with me especially not with good heart, but it really wouldn’t like to leave because of this. It’d hurt a lot. And you’re not getting rid of me this easily anyway. So my humble and temporary suggestion would be something like this: Do large scale farming in guild only groups. Until we have a tank (monster, I’m counting on you ) lets farm lower level instances only. I’m reporting for duty for as many Sanctum runs as you wish Schot. Monster’s right, let’s not set up a general rule for partying with others, let each group decide what will work best. You know where my vote will go, but I won’t whine if the group decides otherwise. However I beg you Schot that time if a party is strongly for roll on need, reconsider your stance. If only for peace’s and a good party’s sake. I really consider it a small gesture that helps to create a much friendlier atmosphere. This game is supposed to be fun after all. Now if it doesn’t work out we’ll try to resolve it on the spot, because arguing about principles here will not lead to anywhere. And this whole issue will cease to exist once we have just a couple of more players anyway
  18. A belated happy birthday Sounds like you had a great day
  19. Just a little something I noticed a few days ago, just kept forgetting posting about it. Dont invite people as soon as they get online, because they may be still loading. Inviting someone while they are on the loading screen causes them to crash. I may be responsible for some of your crashes guys
  20. I stroooongly disagree with the statement that this "unwritten rule" is an indication of who is nice... More on that is I find the statement particularly manipulative. The statement not the person. I really hope I read that wrong but what it speaks to me is that if I do not follow this way of thinking then surely I must not be a nice player. I've seen that sort of statement before in many shapes and forms and it's widely known as peer pressure. A statement made to impose conformity among those who have a different belief. And I have never done well with peer pressure. Again, I'm hoping I completely misunderstood and is merely a case of me putting my foot in my mouth, haha. You’re right, I see it as a peer pressure in Requiem at least. Any etiquette is nothing more than peer pressure. Nobody is obliged to conform though. “Nice” was a poor choice of words. Let me clarify. As long as there are people in a party following this “rule” or whatever, I consider it unfair and disrespectful towards them to do otherwise. But I do agree when you say that much depends on the circumstances. If the sole leather user in the team refuses to cooperate and gets us wiped several times, I’ll roll on “his” items just to decrease his chances. Been there, done that. If a party refuses to respect this rule then I won’t play the martyr and I’ll start rolling on everything too. However if only some of the party members go against it, they do get an unfair advantage. And as much as I’d like to avoid offending anyone, that’s pretty much how I feel about it. and I’d beg everyone not to take it personally, if anyone does, then I’m sorry, but I can’t really help feeling this way. That being said, the whole issue is not something I’d argue over even with random people, and especially not with you guys. I don’t think it’ll be a problem at all in our parties, we share items as needed anyway. So to answer your question Schot, yes, you are always welcome in my parties, lol. You are welcome because I know you to be kind and generous. Did I know you only by your rolling habits, I’d think twice, I admit. Why am I always the party leader btw However we’ll have to agree on some sort of rule each time when partying with others and that’s not going to happen without forcing everybody to the same camp. Or somebody will get offended, and I think that’s what we’re trying to avoid here. As I said I don’t have particularly strong feelings about it, I’d like to expect everyone to follow my way, but if anyone here disagrees I will hold no grudge, because I know everybody here as kind and generous. My question is though, and Schot, it’s your turn to answer... Is it really too much to ask for? Running the same dungeon over and over again is time consuming, tiring and even boring, Im perfectly aware of that. we all want to get the maximum result out of our time invested. But it is still just a game, we can farm as much as we want, so is it really worth to possibly offend that stubborn group of people who don’t mean to get any advantage but hold themselves to an etiquette? Beyond that there isn’t much I can add as it is quite pointless. Etiquette tend to be
  21. Had my doubts about this skill at the end of the beta, as it didnt seem to do anything, but finally I remembered to test it and surpising as it may seem, Godly Mirror actually does work. It just reflects damage without any message with GM lv2, reflecting 40% of damage Libeshal hits you for 51 damage Libeshal hits you for 51 damage You hit Libeshal for 20 damage Libeshal hits you for 31 damage (from the combat log) better yet, you reflect the damage before you take any, so its possible to kill the mob and not take damage from its last hit the similar skill of Shamans probably works the same
  22. Some tips first for those very special, very first characters Dont compound items before lv20 unless you plan to pass them down for your future toons. First 20 lvls go so quickly, it doesnt really worth the money invested. Get any crappy compoundable item regardless of stats. Compound it as much as you’d like (while keeping it in mind that 10 points of defense decreases the damage you take by a single point...) and when you reach the desired item grade and youre not happy with the randomly assigned stats, use a revamp xeon to change the them. I like to stack up on simple basic xeons during the first 20 lvls. Its cheaper to reduce low level items and I dont usually need large amounts of money that early. Buying simple xeons from the AH works just as well, only slightly more expensive, but saves you the hassle of reducing. (Thanks Stickem for the tip) My most precious reinforcement xeons go onto my jewellery. You use them for 10 lvls unlike weapons, and you can find/buy them before reaching their required level unlike set items which take a while to aquire. This way you are guaranteed to use them for all the 10 levels, thus making the most out those pretty red xeons
