  1. The Blind Guardian quest is great for easy money - the weapons themselves are not so great, but I guess they show Ascaron's sense of humour. Since this is posted in the console thread, I should point out that (at least for me) the Undead Legion quest is bugged so it's a huge waste of time unless you like looking at a black screen which is easily achieved just by turning your TV off. The Undead Legion is bugged on 360 without a patch Unholy Hungers. You need to connect to Xbox Live and download the latest patch and it will work fine then. If you haven't got Live yourself, just take your 360 and hard drive to one of your friends who has Live. You get a legendary weapon at the end called Boneslicer but it is a rubbish weapon. My favourite quests are as follows :- Best story based quest - Undead Legion. I love quest chains and having to go to several different areas which this quest has. Most zany quest - The village idiot wanting to learn Kobold ettiquette in the Human Realm. You even get a Jester's Hat as a reward Check it out in the town of Wargfels, not far from the Orc Realm border. Most satisfying quest - The Hippocampus. To get to this quest you have to go well out of your way. It's way, way off the beaten path and there are no portals to quickly get there either. To get there, go towards Sonnewind in Elf realm and keep going towards the Desert Realm. Before you get to the desert area, go east and then north east. You will be in an area filled with mutated creatures. After quite a long journey you end up just west of the swamp area. Keep going until you see a circus filled with undead zombies. Complete the quest and come back the way you did before and you will come across a cave in the area filled with the mutated creatures. There is a boss in this cave which is quite hard to defeat. A quest and a boss, two for the price of one Funniest quest - On the Seraphim Island you get a quest which takes you back to the Human realm for an experiment. Watch the results for something hilarious
  2. Haven't played as all of the characters yet but my favourite is the Shadow Warrior. He's got good skills, can have skeleton warriors fighting alongside of you and says 'I give my life to you. Wait a minute, wait a minute, ok I will help you!' when he accepts quests sometimes I can't help laughing out loud whenever I hear that! Plus I think it is the same voice actor as the main character in Two Worlds. Remember all that verily and forsooth dialogue? Brilliant! Can't wait for the sequel for that game. Looks decent.
  3. That is sound advice Locolagerto So if I rushed through the story and character quest only until I hit Gold, would it be harder to reach the level cap in each area then? I have already thought about what character to play as next - High Elf. I've seen you write loads about your experiences with High Elf Locolagerto plus I've got an amazing chest set item for her. It's armour rating is 350 at level 50 yet the best chest piece I have got for my Inquisiter is 171 at level 60! I think the chest piece has 'Of Time' at the end but cannot remember the first part. Why is it so good? Not even the Shadow Warrior has armour that good, not that I found any decent pieces for him anyway. I just wish the map would not stay highlighted where you have been when you get to higher difficulty levels because it is hard to work out what quests you have done especially in towns where the whole town is lit up like a Christmas tree LOL. I suppose if I didn't do any quests then I would know then to do them all LOL. Just finished the Seraphim Island, Locolagerto and on my way to find the dragon. It's took me 130 hours to get there and am currently level 61! Can't wait to find the Halls of Ascaron when I find the switch to open it up later on. And the dinosaur print you mentioned in another topic LOL.
  4. Yes, some of the side quests text is so ridiculous you just have to laugh! As we discussed earlier in another topic, one of my favourites is the Kobold etiquette quest to get the jester's hat! Seen as I'm doing a complete quest run I'll post how many quests I have found in each area roughly from memory :- Elf Realm 170 quests Human Realm 150 quests Orc Realm 40 quests As you can see the amount of quests goes down drastically in the Orc Realm not giving you much incentive to explore much. The realm is not much smaller than the Human Realm neither plus there are quite a few towns where they could have had more quests in. It was good coming across that boss Tharnak or whatever he is called because the journey takes ages. Also most of the quests in the Orc Realm are 'kill 10 of these creatures!' quests. One of the quests you have to keep repeating because the guy cannot read properly so you just keep killing 10 of each creature he tells you. At least it had a satisfying ending though as you get to kill the guy and the rain stopped LOL. Do you know what quest I'm on about Locolagerto? So yes you're right, the text is very amusing most of the time. I'm not expecting a story as long as War & Peace in Sacred 3 but it would be good to have a decent story and make the Light & Shadow campaigns completely different.
  5. Yup, that's one of the effects of SB. Yes, each area has a min & max monster level cap & the monsters will only spawn within those bounds, regardless of player level or SB. So if you take a level 1 char into Niobium the monsters around Sloeford are level ~110 (or thereabouts) & if you took a level 200 char into Bronze (if that were possible) the monsters in the final area wouldn't be higher than ~38. http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sacred_2:Enemy_Levels Llama8 you have just made my day! Now I can see exactly what to aim for so I will stop mob killing for now and only kill if it is essential until I hit Swamp Realm as that is level 65. I am currently level 60 and just got to Seraphim Island and am already 2 levels higher than everything else. I suppose killing level 58 creatures will take me ages to level up though and it is hardly a big place is it? There is one quest I have feared attempting again since I took a Gold Shadow Warrior there. It's an arena based quest and you have to kill demons or something. At least I won't die straightaway so am hoping to take my SB all the way up to 99.9% Tell me Llama8, I have not got pc version, is there a mod to take out the level cap? As I'm doing a complete quest run and visiting everywhere on the map, it is not much of a challenge now and surely the whole point in Sacred 2 is exploration? I would consider getting Sacred 2 on pc for this feature alone. Thanks very much for the link though, I have printed it out and it will be most useful. One thing I have noticed Llama8 is when you go into caves in the Orc Realm, the level cap is not level 57 but level 58. For some reason caves appear to have higher levelled creatures compared to overground. Have you noticed that before? EDIT : just read on the wiki link you kindly put here that the caves are +1 to the level cap in some areas. I should really read all of the link before posting LOL.
  6. This is a great topic because I find it hard to understand the Survival Bonus. Perhaps someone can help me with this please? I am currently an Inquisiter on silver difficulty attempting a complete quest run and visiting everywhere on the map. I am currently in the Orc realm and have not died yet (well I did against The Banshee but just quit to dashboard, 360 version LOL). When I was in Elf realm, the enemy would level up with me and it got to the stage they were 6-7 levels higher than me. This continued until I got to level 46. Then I started to notice that the enemy would not even level up with me at all so I was getting closer and closer to their level. I am now level 57 in the Orc realm with a survival bonus of 90.3% yet the enemies are either the same as me or one level BELOW me. How can this be? Surely they should be at least 8 levels higher than me. My question is this :- Is there a level cap for each area for each difficulty which will stop the enemy levelling up higher regardless of your survival bonus? I just don't understand this at all. The Elf realm, which is supposed to be the easiest of them all was pretty difficult towards the end because the enemy was 7 levels higher than me. Help!
  7. Yes, the Undead Legion quest is great. There was a proper story to it. You find out the origins of the Undead Legion, go on a journey to several different parts of the Elf realm and you end up finally defeating the boss, keeping the Undead Legion away for another 100 years. I love playing Sacred 2 but there isn't much story to the game. I'm a silver Inquisiter at the mo and it is the first time I have tried the shadow campaign and so far it is virtually the same as light with only a few different diversions. The biggest different I've seen with Light & Shadow is the side quests. You do get exclusive shadow quests which is great. Am currently in the Orc realm and am shocked at how few quests there are compared to Human & Elf realm. It's as if the developers ran out of ideas by the time you get there. Am hoping Sacred 3 has the quests evened out a bit in each area, even if it means each area having less quests than there would be.
  8. This is what I'd like to see in Sacred 3. Not in any particular order either. 1) A manual save. Not sure whether pc version has a manual save, but console does not. Can be infuriating losing a good toon you have spent many hours developing. 2) Being able to carry a high level toon across to Sacred 3? Doubt this will happen seen as it will be by a different developer but here's hoping! 3) Guilds. Wouldn't it be great to join an assassin's guild for example and after completing all quests for a guild, you get an exclusive combat art or new skill. For example after completing all quests for assassin's guild, you get a CA that allows you to stab someone in the back for an instant kill. Obviously there would have to be at least a minute regen to stop people abusing it. Just an idea anyway! 4) Exclusive characters become available after completing Gold/Platinum/Niob. Just gives you more incentive to go through a campaign again and again. 5) More quest chains, less filler. I love the Undead Legion quest chain and others like it but am getting a bit tired of 'kill 10 of these creatures! quests. 6) Have each area in the game to have an equal amount of quests plus have the areas to be of roughly equal size. I am doing a complete quest run and have done around half of all available quests at the end of the Human Realm yet I have another 4 or 5 areas to go. 7) More legendary 4 star weapons available and make them useful. The Boneslicer is useless by the time you get it and that is supposed to be better than 3 star weapons? 8) More secrets when you explore off the beaten path. Finding the Hippocampus (thanks to Locolagerto for telling me the correct name!) was sheer joy after spending over an hour getting there. 9) More zany quests like the one where the village idiot wants to learn Kobold ettiquete and gives you a jesters hats when you complete the quest! Sacred 2 is bonkers LOL. 10) Just more of the same as Sacred 2 really. I'm hoping the new developers will keep Sacred 3 as utterly charming as Sacred 2 is.
  9. Found another one last night just before I finally completed the Human realm. You will have to go well out of your way for this one I'm afraid as it is by Grunwald. A guy wants help taking him back to a temple and he did not get hurt at all on the journey even though there were loads of mobs about. I would imagine there are loads of invunerable companions in this game. I haven't even got to the Orc realm with this toon and I have found loads of them. Hope this helps you out.
  10. LOL yes I just got the reward, the Jester's Hat! How come it's only the Shadow Warrior who can wear it, it's not fair! My inquisoter would look lovely in it, I'm sure! I am wondering what kind of mindbending drugs these devs were on at the time! Village idiots who want to learn Kobold ettiquette, lonely Sea Horse called Hippocampus who does tricks, who lives near to a circus filled with undead zombies, helping out a rockband get their instruments back from the undead whose leader just happens to be their biggest fan and has all their albums, a little girl who asks an undead warrior with his skeleton warrior helper to find her teddy bear in Thylisium's sewer! If I carry on I will be sent to a mental asylum myself haha! Ascaron, you gotta love them there is a hat for each character. but they sometimes drop at random. you can return in free play and run it over and over until you have the full McDonald's happy meal set. lol lol I don't want to spoil anything for you but these types of treasures and quests exist throughout to entire game. let me know when you fall into the giant Dinosaur footprint on Dryad Isle. LOL I will do Locolargerto! I am very near the end of the Human Realm now. Thought I was a couple of nights ago when I got to Wargfels but realised I still have a bit to go! I have just done that campaign quest where you go to a temple and the guy tells you to go in the Orc Realm to continue the story. I have got to do all the area to the West of that and I have finished the Human Realm. That is 100 hours with around 270 quest done and 30% of map completed! I am looking at around 300-400 hours to complete everything aren't I? Someone asked on another forum I use if Sacred 2 is worth the $7 they saw it for in a game store. $7 for a game with 6 different characters, dozens of builds each with a different character quest plus two different campaigns and over 500 quests in around 6 or 7 completely different regions? That's gotta be bargain of the century. Anyway I'd better finish waffling on because I have got this topic to be completely off-topic! Anyone reading this will want to know why the topic is about The Banshee but we're talking about Jester's Hat will wonder whether we are completely insane like the devs are LOL. Thanks for all your help Locolargerto. It's great chatting to a fellow Sacred 2 addict
  11. LOL yes I just got the reward, the Jester's Hat! How come it's only the Shadow Warrior who can wear it, it's not fair! My inquisoter would look lovely in it, I'm sure! 12. That's a good idea Locolagerto. I did do that initally with my Shadow Warrior. I completed virtually everything in the Elf Realm apart from visiting Sonnewind and the areas around it (well apart from when you teleport there with the infamous Blind Guardian quest!) and then just did the character and story quests. Hmm maybe I could continue with that toon after I finish with this run. I come across a new area whilst exploring yesterday Locolagerto which was most bizarre. It's still in the Human Realm but looks like it belongs in the Swamp area. It's called something like Nagushes Nest but I have definitely got the first name wrong. Once you get there, the whole area gets highlighted as if you have visited a town but there is nothing there apart from a small cave at the back filled with t-mutated rats and bears! Whats that about then? Wonder if it is quest related? Also defeated the Wild Boar, good God he was tough! Not as tough as The Banshee but the Wild Boar freezes you whenever he hits making killing him with a melee toon extremely problematic. Didn't even get any decent items either! Am in the vicinity of Wargfels doing a few quests around there. What a great game! The merchant in that town has some great items for me. First time in ages I have been able to buy anything decent as well.
  13. I'm visiting everywhere on the map and are currently in the Human realm. There is a quest in Griffenborough you might want to check out. Cannot remember the name of the quest now but you have to escort a guy to a camp, North of Griffenborough. He does not start to kill until he gets to the camp. Sorry cannot remember the name of the quest now. Does anyone else know the name? All I remember is there are two camps to visit and then when you complete them both, he turns on you and you have to kill him. I did this with an Inquisiter on shadow campaign, obviously. Cheers, EDIT : I am now in Wargfels and found another hireling who is invunerable. He wants help killing 10 Earth Elementals. Also come across a sheep (!) who is a Mage in disguise who might be invunerable. Check East of Wargfels and you will see a sheep with a quest marker. He runs off and is never attacked by anything.
  14. Hey I never thought of that Locolagerto Thank you for the suggestion! Yes you're right, Frenetic Fervor will never go below 60 seconds so it would make sense to keep eating runes for it! LOL there was me thinking it was the hippopotamus! Hippocampus, very amusing! I've just been on the wiki site so understand what the devs mean now, very clever! I feel sorry for the poor guy all on his own. Think I will go back up there and keep him company when I have finally completed the Human Realm. Yes it is great exploring in Sacred 2. There are so many amusing quests and characters to meet. I have played for 85 hours and only done 28% of the map! I shall probably still be playing when Sacred 3 is finally out LOL. Have you ever done a complete quest run and visited everywhere on the map in one run Locolagerto? It's so satisfying. One of the main reasons why I have never gone past Gold is because the map is highlighted everywhere you have been in previous runs and it's hard to work out what quests you have done before because there are so many. Actually is there a mod for pc version of Sacred 2 that defaults the map whenever you go to a higher difficulty? I would buy the pc version just for that actually. What advice do you have for getting to Niob so you get to see exclusive quests on every run Locolagerto? Cheers,
  15. I finally killed The Banshee! I put lava into each of the weapons I duel wield which had a conversion rating of 37.7% to fire. Also put a point into Frantic Fervor but because of the armour I wear, it was level 8. It is a great CA, only trouble is it takes a minute to regen. I had to use a grand total of 68 potions and that is the 100% healing potions at that! I was doing ok until The Banshee got to a third of health and then it was taking an age to go down even more, most likely because I was waiting for Frantic Fervor to regen again. Even got an amazing set item drop from killing him too! I would never have killed that pesky Banshee if it wasn't for the help I have recieved so thank you very much, I really appreciate all the help I had. I need to put quite a few points into Armour Lore Locolagerto because I have got a set item that needs level 60 and I am only level 47 at the moment. Very nearly finished off the Human Realm now. It is great doing a complete quest run and visiting the whole of the map because you get to see so much that you would not normally visit. Finding the hippopotamus was a gift from the devs after it took so long to get there LOL. Why is it called a hippopotamus when it looks like a sea horse to me? Maybe I need new glasses LOL. Thanks again anyway, that's another boss defeated
