  1. Three older women lived together. One was outside and came in to find the other two standing on the staircase arguing. "What's this about?" "I say we're going up the stairs." "I say we're headed down." The first one said, "I hope I'm never as absent minded as the two of you." And she reaches over and knocks on the wooden hand rail. Suddenly startled, she asks, "Now was that the front door or the back door?"
  2. Say, Gogo, if your prescription is out of date and you need a new one... WHEN WILL MEDICAL INSURANCE PAY FOR AN EYE EXAM? IF YOU HAVE AN EYE CONDITION OTHER THAN NEEDING GLASSES. Under most medical insurance, if you go to an opthamologist for an eye condition and just happen to get an eye exam and prescription at the same time, they'll pay the office fee for the visit. A common eye condition in our world of climate control is "dry eye". Yep, you heard me, dry eye. Tell the opthamologist that your eyes have been really dry lately and could they check them. Hopefully, when they do the little test, your eyes will manage to be slightly dry. When they complete your paperwork, they'll include the diagnosis code which is what the insurance company looks at to determine that you had a medicial condition and not just an eye exam. The only downfall is if your eyes are really moist the day you go in and they don't actually give the diagnosis. But if you go to an opthamologist anyway (as they're generally more expensive than an optomotrist), it doesn't hurt to ask them to test you. I worked in Employee Benefits for 8 years and was taught this by the guy who managed the Health Plans for about 15+ years.
  3. Here is the sweet spot (it's zoomed in a little to show detail, do this zoomed all the way out). Notice the dark feature looks a little like a number 7. I stand roughly right there. Position the cursor out in the middle of the stream (being careful not to target and kill the goblin) and apply your "uniques" (I actually just use the rubber band but to each their own). Slowly slide the cursor down the stream. The goal is to get your cursor so the right side point of the cursor comes near the top bar of the #7 feature but not quite touching it (like this). Now because you're dancing the jig, your cursor will actually being moving back and forth from that position (away from the 7 and back again). Every once in a while, your toon will dance just a little to one side, but should come back to the main position. If your toon keeps running in place for five minutes, then it should be good to go until the server reset.
  4. Golly, Schot, at first I was gonna just humor you but after reading their website I almost wish the brokerage I use traded the Austrailian market... It's a very recent stock listing (right at 1 year old), so not a lot of track record. But price is cheap enough that you could buy 100 shares and not have much at risk. If they make a good iron ore find, then it'd appreciate enough to have made it worth your while. At $1.20 (Austrailan dollars) per share, convert to the US dollar, add in brokerage fee, it'd cost roughly $125 to buy 100 shares. So, sure, I'd buy a small piece of you (purely on speculation).
  5. Thanks for the update Schot, I was sure I was missing something. I made a post in the other thread.
  6. Interesting, I tried that area myself but found a problem with the enemies wandering away from time to time. Their roaming area is too large right there, so if they lose interest in you, then you get inconsistent SB building (by not always being in combat). The place I use is just outside the Bellvue fort, but I admit the positioning of the cursor has to be much more exact. However, the goblin I use will never wander out of combat range (with a bow/xbow of course) as he has a very small roaming area. The other problem in finding a place to use is that the jig, as you call it, must result in a change of X/Y coordinates. I've found places where my X/Y doesn't change and after a period of time I get booted.
  7. Gial, if the cleaning and reseating of heat sink don't fix it, you might also run a memory diagnostic as the CPU's bus speed determines the memory's bus speed (MS has one you can download, though you have to put it on a bootable media (floppy or CD)). It's an easy test before buying a new CPU.
  8. Sweet! I'd never noticed that page at Wolfe's before. Answers one curiosity that I was never willing to invest the time into (total number of boxes).
  9. I check the Yahoo Finance page about 4 times a day to see which way the market's moving. Was I surprised to see my initials on the page!! MAS So my question to each of you is... are your initials also a listed stock symbol? You can check them on Yahoo or Bloomberg (If you want to keep your intials to yourself, it's okay to just post yes or no and we'll trust you on it , since my inits are the first letters of my username, it's kinda hard for me to keep them secret) P.S. Other question you can answer is, if you are a stock symbol, then would you buy yourself? Don't think I'd buy myself the way the price is falling.
  10. Sacred UW Book/Scroll List (pdf format) This was my first truly crazy undertaking in Sacred. Someone had made a listing of the pre-Plus books/scrolls, but after UW came out with many new ones, no one had listed them all. I was also intrigued by the rumor (that's told to you by an NPC) that you would gain something special by reading all the books and scrolls (by the way, that's been semi-officially discounted... I'm told it was never implemented). I developed a loop thru several towns which would result in 10-15 scrolls per trip. The problem is you have no control over duplicates, so it took forever to get the last few. As gameboxes are most commonly dropped by bookstands, I also probably had the best collection of them anywhere...
  11. Here's a pic. I was gusted and was able to use my spear to hit the mummy that was still back where I was gusted from.
  12. I still don't understand why I die so much...
  13. @ Schot - I guess I'm being totally dense as I don't see where in the thread you posted the explanation or a link. I'm curious to know what you did as I have my own trick for SB building in HC and am curious if there's something better. (I generally only share mine in-game as it borders on an exploit so have never posted it on SIF.)
  14. Now just imagine the looks you'd get from the counter person if you took those in to be dry cleaned...
  15. Often on a tour, the guide will stop and give a small story about some historic item/statue/painting. I'd do something along this line. For example: I might find a picture of a statue of a famous/important Canadian and give small speech about it (take the picture w/ you as a visual aide). "And now I'd like to call your attention to the statue of Blah Blah. Blah was the first Canadian to reach the rank of General in the Royal Army... What many people don't know about General Blah Blah is that he enjoyed fishing and often spent the summer with his family at Hudson Bay..... The statue itself was built in 1923 by the unknown sculpter Tweedle Dee. It is constructed entirely of bronze and weighs over 1200 pounds. Now if you'll follow me down the stairs, we'll see some historic paintings, please watch your step."
  16. I distinctly remember making a mental note that one or more articles stated that Sacred 2 will support widescreen. I'll try to look it up and post a link.

    Avatar Help

Took me a minute to figure out but was able to link my avatar to the one I have on SIF. Now if I change that one, it'll change here too. Figured it'd give me a more consistent appearance.
  18. Good stuff. Updated. @ Schot or someone who does pics - the pic that someone linked on Dagger Stare is actually the Multihit pic. Is there a good Dagger Stare one?
  19. I've added info to Dagger Stare. Please feel free to edit/revise. http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sacred:Dagger_Stare For reference, here's my post on SIF about DS: http://forum.sacredeng.ascaron-net.com/sho...ead.php?t=38088
  20. Anyone spent much time fighting mummies while on horseback? I've noticed that if you get gusted, it seems to treat you like you were still at your starting position. So you can target and hit an enemy that's standing where you were before you were gusted. Anyone else ever noticed this?
  21. Just thought I'd suggest it'd be worth noting how a CA works differently if armed w/ different types of weapons (I'd only add a note when it's different). Two examples: Gladiator's Multi-hit and Attack CAs get up to 5 arrows (depending on level of CA), w/ Attack hitting only 1 target and MH spreading out to multiple targets. Regen and %'s are also different when using ranged weapons w/ MH. Dwarf with Wrath CA while equipped with gauntlets (unarmed combat).
