  1. Hey Llama The link for evolution is http://80.237.203.201/download/use/evolution/
  2. The continuing update: At about 16:15 server time I received two messages indicating that my main fleet had returned and the missing 30 large cargos from the other day that were lost also returned. As I was in vacation mode for whatever reason, I re-activated and things seem almost in order except that the 2 buildings I had started were not in process and a few ships I had built were also not there. So I re-started things, hoping for the best... Still out a few points, but probably due to the ships. I think I was reset individually as I had emailed Amakir the GA about my missing 30 large cargos. I hope the others that lost fleet also had the same experience and their fleets are restored. It would have been nice to have received something from the GA about what was going on. Dazed and confused....
  3. OMG I checked on my UNI 9 account about 15:45 server time and found that I had been logged out. I logged back in and find that I'm now in vacation mode, my main fleet is missing , buildings that were being built are not being built. Oddly enough a tech is still being researched. My points were reduced by over 20,000. So, I posted on the OOF in the UNI 9 Down thread, but no answer yet. After the update @ 18:05 server time, I see that my points are reduced by only 2,000, but there is no fleet on its deploy mission, all my messages are gone. This might be a problem!! Has anyone else experienced anything weird?
  4. The standard fleet is a Commander only option. What it allows you to do is define a "standard" fleet. From what I've gathered you could define, for example 100 Large Cargos and 100 Battleships as a "standard" fleet and when you select an attack mission you would simply click on "standard" fleet and 100 LC and 100BS would be selected, saving you the time/keystrokes of typing in the # of ships. Could be very useful.
  5. The glitch occurred at about 18:00 server time. I lost only 30 Large Cargos on a return transport mission and they've never returned. My fleet survived. Others were not so lucky - those 2 guys from MOB who lost their full fleets and dropped 200 - 300 ranks must really be burning righ now. A server reset roll-back would be appropriate to the 16:00 update. Seems everything was OK up until then. The famous Urkhai hit would remain part of history as would Ike's good-bye hit. It sure doesn't seem like anyone knows what's going on.
  6. Does a Happy Dance!! So glad you're with us. Wonderful news, welcome to D.a.r.k. and let's have some fun.
  7. It seems that the UNI 9 server was offline for a few minutes earlier today [around 18:00 server time]. Since then all kinds of weird things are happening. Deployed fleets are disappearing, esp probes do not generate reports, the fleet scrren for active missions is empty, but you can see the mission on the overview. You'll want to check your accounts asap... Nothing official on the OOF as of yet...
  8. Ike - First, congratulations on another well executed HoF. I am amazed at your talent, determination, planning and execution. You are simply one of the best OGame players I've ever seen. Second, It's a sad day for all of us knowing that you have decided to retire. I fully understand and support your decision to return to RL and get some sleep. You will be sorely missed. You are still and always will be, a member of this community, so I expect to see you stop in from time to time and say Hi... Best of Luck to you...
  9. You know, Munson has some great insight into ACS and I do agree, even though I'm not sure I could say it as eloquently as he has. ACS is all about a bunch of folks that can gang up on another player and take him out. I'm now playing in UNI 27 just to try it out for real and I'm finding 2 things: 1. The stronger players in the stronger alliances all work together to take out any and all threats in their areas and then they systematically expand to do the same in the next Galaxy. They get stronger and the mid-sized players get pulverized, intimidated and usually just leave. The noobs and unranked players think they're doing OK until they get hit by another group of noobs. Fleetsaving is an absolute must at all times in ACS. I'm doing multiple 2-3 hour f/s daily, just to hide my fleet from the aggressors. 2. Munson's right; there's no way to really play your game. Miners get raided by 3-4 noobs, fleeters get crashed by 3-4 noobs, traders get crashed/raided by 3-4 noobs and then those noobs get crashed by the top 3-4 players. There's such a huge difference in points already; #1 has >50,000 points and 6 of the top ten players are in the same alliance and all between 45,000 and 50,000 points; all working together and gaining much rapidly than the others. I'm now ranked #48 with 19,840 and wouldn't dare go after any one in that alliance or its wings for fear of full and combined retaliation. It would take much more than the 5 players working an ACS attack to get just one of them and there's 6 in the top ten. I think that's why the player numbers drop so quickly in these new ACS Universes. The lone wolf doesn't stand a chance even if he's in a good alliance. It's those who get the jump in a new universe that rule. While there's a lot of strategy and plotting and planning going on all the time, it's always a group of lesser players trying to take out a higher ranked player. Sure you can ACS defend, but that's usually a spur of the moment thing. I'll give you there's nothing wrong with teamwork, but the balance is all wrong in ACS. The big guys simply get themselves and one other together and systematically begin taking down the higher rated players with no losses to themselves and huge gains. I'm not sure ACS is all it's cracked up to be. It's not balanced right somehow. The top 2 or 3 or 4 players can simply walk all over any one they want. There should be some sort of penalty for group attacks - like a reduction of 1/2 in your techs when there's 2 attackers with 2x the fleet size. There's really no room for individualism and defense is even more a joke than in non-ACS universes. To survive you must be in an alliance that's well communicated, works together and can stand the pressure. There's no safe haven anywhere. Just my 2 cents on this. I do hope things will change in Universe 27 soon as the # of players starts to decline, but my gut tells me that it's gonna get worse.
  10. Universe 9 was my first. Got sucked in by DaGirl from the Sacred forums. I played my original account until I was able to ungrade my old volkswagen to the high-class Indy13 Mercedes-Benz account and I'm still here. Oh, I also played in Uni 10 with a bunch from Clan DA, but got my arse handed to me the day I broke through noob protection. I then got talked into trying the ACS Universe #5 with another bunch from Clan DA. Started from scratch there while all the rest were in the triple digit scores, I just couldn't keep up, but I did learn a little about ACS. I also started an account in Uni 27 recently to try another go with ACS - just for fun. It's quite a bit different as really no one's safe - even #1. I've managed to struggle up to rank 51, made a bunch of friends there and have done both ACS attacks and ACS defends. Quite fun, but Universe 27 is truly ruthless. With the ability to gang up [up to 5 players] against one, seems everybody is quite a bit more aggressive, especially when they're in a strong alliance. Right now I'm being chased by a rank 230 player who just joined a top alliance and he has at least 2 buddies right close by. I do 2-3 hour fleetsaves all day long, just to hide my fleet from them. I still consider Universe 9 my primary account - mainly because of this great community here...
  11. Ike, you are the MAN! This is pretty cool and I'm sure Revenge 9 will really appreciate it. Brave, courageous and bold - Wyatt Earp, yep, that's you!
  12. Pretty serious stuff there da bx, You really need to contact the GO like Gintukas said... Wish you the best of luck...
  13. Welcome to Vendetta, Spectra Good to have you with us Oh, BTW, I'm Johnny_Two Toes in Vendetta
  14. Well, it's finally concluded... What an ordeal. We installed the new hard drive, and my son figured out how to get the damaged hard drive accessable. He backed-up all our important documents and files. Everything worked just fine, the new [and much larger] hard drive performs very well. Then on a lark we decided to take the old hard drive and reformat it to see if we could possibly use it again. That happened yesterday. Boy did things get funky after that. When I got up this morning, I booted the computer as usual and weird things started happenning. The mouse didn't work, but the hard drives were just a whirrin'. I could get a few mouse movements detected from time-to-time and opened the Task Manager to see what was going on. Maxed Out at 100% CPU usage! Oh no! But, it looked like progress was being made, slowly, but surely. About an hour later I got a pop up that said "L:\$Mft - Delayed write failed due to hardware or network failure, all data lost." Very serious problem, that's the Master file table. Thankfully, the drive designation matched the old hard drive. We removed the old hard drive, rebooted and things are back to normal. The final analysis was the malware actually corrupted some segments on the old hard drive. And the old hard drive did, in fact have some mechanical problems and was about to fail anyway. To the scrap heap with you, little bugger.... Anyway back in business now with my desktop at a total cost of $79.99 + tax for the new Seagate 320gb SATA hard drive and quite a few hours of my time and son's time to get it all working.
  15. Seems I remember getting something similar a long, long time ago. For those who didn't get it it says: Check out www.org.lkh.pl where you can find: player search, galaxy map and pillory with search engine. Greetz and happy hunting WWW.ORG.LKH.PL I did not check it out, beacuse I was thinking that this could be some sort of password phisher, so I resisted. Just wondering if anyone else got this and whether anyone checked it out?
  16. Rik, gratz! That's quite an accomplishment. Enjoy the perks...
  17. Hey, hey Welcome back, Ubersoldier... Hope you had a great time during the holidays
  18. You know a while ago I would never had thought that HF were much good for anything, But since I built up a bunch, I think they're just great. Great for fodder - much tougher than LF And they can hold their own against some pretty heavy defenses. I haven't build any lights in a while, just heavies... I think they're well worth the investment.
  19. Ike - Another super hit, well planned and well executed once again tremendous profits! Enjoy...
  20. Wow, Ike... This is a super-duper hit...well planned and very well executed. But you gotta tell me how were you able to get the timing you show on the overview screen shot to be one second apart or are you a photoshop expert too [among your other extraordinary talents]? This is really quite impressive! Enjoy...
  21. Best of luck with Dawn and you know you're still part of this great family here...
  22. And Deathstars will give you a much better selection of time options when you're doing a deploy fleetsave. Wouldn't be without them...
  23. Gogo, I kind of see it like this. We've got devil we know and the devil we don't know. Ban Danna is the devil we know and Borg is the devil we don't know. I'm fairly certain that Borg has taken over Darth Raider's account. I'm sure this isn't simply a Darth Raider name change to Borg. I think Borg was around once before and is a fleeter. We're gonna have to watch him carefully as he has a number of moons in his Gal 7 cluster of colonies. And he's pulled up his fleet numbers to about 5,000. I've been fleet saving religously ever since Urkhai, Sphenodon, Munson and others noticed my moons in Gal 7 so I'm hoping that will deter the JIN ROH folks as well. I'm building jumpgates [gawd, they take along time] now on one and will start the other in a couple of days. Right now there's only 3000 players left in UNI9. So, profitable targets are tough to find. A savvy high ranked player could make our lives quite difficult in the rim, so we've got to be extra careful.
  24. I haven't ever been probed by him even though I have hit a couple of JIN ROH members in Gal 7. But, I checked the HoF Boards and see he made a hit on 12/30/06 with 14,000 LF and 2,000 BS. On 11/23/06 he posted another hit with 25,000 LF, 270 HF, 1,500 CR, and 500 BS. His current fleet size is >58,000. One can only gues what he's been doing recently with his fleet. Good to know that he hasn't been pestering any of us. Gogo, I gotta ask, have you noticed that he's building fleet? Is that what is behind your concern?
