  1. I too have been probed twice now by him. Once on my moon and luckily I was fleetsaving, but I had just shipped a load of deut (1 million) there from one of my colonies and he saw that. He did not probe the planets or he would have seen the 8100 Solar Sats floating around. The other probe was another of my Gal 7 planets. I have 2 closeby each other 100 SS away from my moon. He probed only one and missed the 1667 LF I had sitting on the other. Not very complete with his probing... Oh well lucky for me, sort of... I half expect to wake up in the morning and find his attack colony sitting next to my moon...
  2. Ouch, Bef. My heart reaqlly goes out to you. Having passed a kidney stone once before, I understand just how painful that can be, but to have one lodged or stuck in there that may require surgery ... Best of luck to you and may this all be very brief and painless for you....
  3. ....the lady of the house, Griselle, kept many secrets. She often would vanish for days at a time. And when she returned her clothes were tattered and worn and she would sleep for hours and hours." The butler continued, "One such night, upon her return, the master of the house, Erland Von Deutch, met her at the door. Seeing her in that condition, all dirty, tattered and worn, he confronted her, 'Where have you been? And why are you carrying my shovel?' He shivered in the cold once more and arose from his bed. It was a dark and forboding, with thunder echoing in the distance...
  4. Well congratz on the offer Offers like this come along only once (or if you're really lucky twice) in a lifetime. There will be a million things you can think of to make it sound bad or difficult. But you must think of where you'll be a year from now, if you don't do it.. If this is something you really love doing and you can get paid for it - well there's a great combo! Seriously consider all the great opportunities this can bring to you, doors that will open for you that you do not even know are there, the people you'll meet and work with...Wow... I'm sure it's a tough commute and for sure there will be long hours and responsibilites that you've never had before, but that's what growth is all about. How will you know if you can do it or not unless you try... I say go for it, rush headlong, damn the torpedos, full speed ahead.
  5. Once again and hopefully for the last time this year - I've got to drop into vacation mode for a few days while travelling for business. It's just too busy a schedule for this week to try to manage OGame I'll be back late Friday night so I'll see you again this coming weekend. Be safe out there!
  6. Hey, many thanks for the head's up on this site. It's very nice indeed. Starting to get excited about the next Sacred release....
  7. Wow!! If this is the same Might & Magic series that Tip Hawkins developed while with 3DO, it should be awesome. I remember when 3DO went belly-up, the rights to the Might and Magic series and the Heroes of Might & Magic were sold to Ubisoft. I had heard rumors that MMX was coming, but had no idea it had gone gold. Thanks for the info, Aurora I, too started my RPG life with Might & Magic VI and played VI - IX. Except for the last one they were all great RPG's -- good character development, cool story lines (with a real twist at the end), lot's of battle action, strategy, good puzzles to solve and the best of all, for me was the non-linear feel to the game. You could venture pretty much wherever you wanted (or dared), do whatever you wanted, develop your characters whichever ways you liked and still have a great time with the game itself without that real dumb linear "follow the plot" requirement like Dungeon Siege had. One of he really cool things were the Easter Eggs; the secret scrolls, great NPC characters (and names), hidden dungeons and treasure and the like... From what I saw in the demo, it doesn't look like you have a four-member party like in MMVI - MMIX and I'll miss that that. This was a great feature in that you could have a true fighter coupled with an archer complimented by a mage and/or a sorceror. The right combo in a party was critical in some of the battles where you needed a ranged attacker, a mage to deal out magic damage, a melee fighter for the up-close and personal, plus a healer. Wow, gettin' excited now... I hear they may have a multi-player option coming soon as well, but I believe the upcoming release is single-player only. I'm looking forward to it and am hoping that it stays true to the old Might and Magic tradition of a real RPG and it's not all just FPS like Doom or Quake.
  8. I'm trying to figure out a strategy and need some input... I've just built a colony next to my main in Gal 2. While it's building up I don't plan on doing too much there. But. in a few days, I'll be needing quite a bit of rez to continue to build. My main is OK for production, but just can't generate enough rez to do it all for both planets. I've got a sizeable fleet in Gal 7. Should I split that fleet and send a bunch of LF, HF, CR and BS to Gal 2. I'm figuring this would allow me the opportunity to begin doing some more serious raiding and even crashing. On the downside, there's a S*** Load of moons around, but most belong to players ranked far below me... well almost all. I'd like to be able to have two games going in the same universe. A nifty little fleet in the core that can raid and crash while my main fleet and true rez producing colonies in Gal 7 & 8 continue to supply my big colony with rez to build more mines, techs, and fleet. What do you all think. Is splitting fleet a good idea?
  9. Looks like your problem is solved. Seems our friend, Candyman has just posted a hit on Flyinclouds AKA Webdesigner: Here's the link An advanced hit, too by the way!
  10. Just wanted to let you all know that if you noticed my point and ranking drop (from 109 to 123) that it was planned. I deleted my gal 9 colony yesterday. Sad, but I felt it necessary to relocate that colony to Gal 2. Hopefully, it will allow me to get a little more action going in that area. Second thing that happened was a moon shot. I've had 1667 LF sitting on one of my Gal 7 colonies waiting for a moon shot. Well timing as it is ANAKONDA decided to take them out and I let him do it hoping I'd get that second moon, but no luck there. Thanks for the ingame message Gintukas. Your expression of concern was appreciated. And that's what makes being part of this alliance a very special thing. I'll be busily building up my new colony and rebuilding that bunch of LF over the next few days. Still got my sites set on being the Top 100 real soon.
  11. Wow -- sure glad you're OK.... I lived in upstate NY for a long, long time. I moved south, to North Carolina and left my snow shovel there! Let's hope you get your power back soon. What's a Monday snow day without OGame, anyway?
  12. Yessir, Way to go! Quite an accomplishment!
  13. I've got to drop into vacation mode for a few days, should be back this weekend. NO fun...all business related travel, darn!
  14. It's a sad day for me. A player name El Makedonero who had a bunch of colonies in Gal 7 has disappeared from OGame. This guy was a brash, bold and courageous player. He was ranked about 500 and would never hesitate to attack my colonies, even if I only had a few ships or a little rez there when I was ranked around 200. I stalked him daily, but he was a good fleetsaver and I only saw his fleet twice. Gogo, esfan and I tried a three-way squeeze on him once to use our IPMs to soften up his defense, but alas he prevailed. He told gogo one day in July that he was planning a 4 week vacation, which he took and returned only briefly, went inactive then long inactive and today his account is gone. A salute to you, El Makedonero, whoever and wherever you. A worthy opponent! And thanks for the moon!
  15. The dragon background you just put up is awesome! Is it from Guild Wars? Yeah, like erialc said let's keep fer a while, just let everybody know about Guild Wars! And as far as the Vendetta background goes, that guy always reminded me of a 1950's cigarette ad or maybe the husband in the kitchen of future display at Disney...
  16. Jeepers, Locutus. That's a pretty scary day you had there. There must be a reason he's after you. He's in [Turkiye]. Don't let your guard down for a minute and don't
  17. @Locutus - So what really happened with this Beaker guy? I think the world's record odd (or really dumb) thing for me was doing a fleetsave once early on as a transport without taking any resources. My entire fleet was stranded on a brand new colony with no deut for a return trip. I actually had to build a few cargos on my main to transport some deut to save them. Luckily, I made it through that OK, but there was a scary couple of hours for me.
  18. It's a keeper. I played it through a couple of times and there's a lot of great stuff in there. Good character development, great quests, nifty story line, lot's of action. I enjoyed it...
