  1. Awesome work schot. Would love to see sacred wiki again.
  2. Got my attention! Can't wait to see and hear more. cheers folks!
  3. I second Etherian on this one. I have gone through soooo many mice I can't count until I bought a Razr Mamba. It has been the best mouse I have ever had.
  4. That new rig is pulling a few more amps than the old one eh? I have a APC 1200 that pulls about 140 watts on browser and 225 in game. Which is less than 30% load.
  5. I use a free utility called HWMonitor from CPUID.com It will auto detect all your system temps automatically. Depending on the motherboard. As far as heat goes, the case is a huge part of that equation, along with proper ventilation/fans. I have and Antec Nine Hundred Two Case with a total of 5 case fans. 3 low rpm 120 mm intake with filters and 1 120mm exhaust plus 1 240mm exhaust built into the top of the case. A Thermaltake CPU fan and my 700w ps has a 120mm fan as well. Before replacing my case, the old cheap case I had could not let me overclock due to temps and I had CPU temps ranged 45-70 C when loaded and GPU temps above 120 C. This can actually slow down performance with Mobos that have automatic temp throttles. Now with a good quality case and ventilation my overclocked CPU temps range from 30 C to 48 C and my GPU maxes at about 85 C and that is all on air, no liquid cooling. When I had dual GPUs my PC would actually raise the temperature of the room by 5 degrees or more.
  6. I think your choices of components are pretty spot on for a game machine. That Mobo chipset is 3 channel so 3 sticks of 4 gb is good. I have 4 sticks of 2 gb in mine and I never see more than 50% used when running multiple instances of Sacred2. On my last build, I started with 2 SLI GTX 260 GPU cards and found that the heat produced was not in proportion to the performance. Plus, Sacred2 got a little screwing in some areas where ground textures flickered really bad. I ended up seeing a bigger boost in performance (Frames per second) by tweaking my processor speed ( i5 750 is 2.66 stock) up to 3.4 . I got more bang for my power and heat than having 2 GPUs. So I installed the second GTX260 in my kids Box. Also I found 3 500Gb Sata2 HD for less than $200. So I set them up in a RAID that ended up boosting my speed, giving my about 700 Gb of HD space, and I am protected from a single HD failure. Most of the ASUS/ASRock Mobo support Intel chipsets with built in RAID controllers. So RAID set-up was a breeze. Good luck with the new rig. loco
  7. Bridgette Nelson that stared in the Rocky move was very tall at 182cm. 195? wow, that is taller than me. At 6ft 3in I would come in at 190.5cm
  8. Got mine! I loved Fallout 3 on Xbox. I am sure this one will be a fun walk back in time with the series.
  9. I guess it is official, I can not connect to the lobby of Closed Net or Open Net. Thanks to everyone for all the awesome adventures and the great stories that came from them. Let's hope D3 or GW2 offers some of the magic that Sacred 2 Closed Net did. Cheers to everybody. locolagarto p.s. anybody got a good recipe for Closed Net withdrawal?
  10. Met up with a few guys tonight. Saw Dobster lose a TG to the Grundwald Dragon. And Gogo and I messed around a bit in PVP. I swear it was Gogo's idea......RIP Gogoblender Sun
  11. There are plenty of people out there that use credit "responsibly". The question is... do you need credit to meet your financial goals? Does credit make you more successful financially? Does credit make you more secure financially? Almost every single person will experience a major life changing event every 10 years on average. An accident at work, a bad test result from a doctor, even a death in the family or the loss of a job, maybe a baby is born, or your house burns down... all of these are possible, but most of us live our lives thinking these horrible things happen only to someone else. Grandma used to save for a rainy day because she had the wisdom to believe it would actually rain someday. The fact is, it will rain. And these life changing events can be really scary, even disabling. Being extended on credit when one of these things happen can cause a ripple effect that leaves you always trying to catch up. Being debt free with 3-6 months of living expenses under your bed can make the difference between dealing with one major life event, or dealing with a series of emergencies all at once or one after another. I don't (and won't) judge anyone's opinion or practices with money, I just know that I feel free for the first time in my life. Free from the banks and creditors, even free from my employer. I work to support my family now, not to make payments to my masters.
  12. On average 80% of consumers who sign up for "Cash Back", "Points" or "Airline Miles" cards never cash in. And the Big banks know this, and count on it. After all, the banks have the nicest and most lavish building downtown because most consumers don't pay the balance off every month, or use credit "smartly". The fact is that most people borrow on credit rather than from savings in an "emergency". And credit gets so easy that "Emergencies" become... a new shirt for work, or a music download, or a McD's Big Mac. Again, the banks know this as well and they count on it. My wife and I have been intense about money since I lost my job in Jan '09 ( thankfully back to work in March '10) . We were so intense and intentional about our money we were able to dump the debt that practically paralyzed us financially and emotionally. After 3 years and more sacrifice than my family deserves we are debt free and have 3 months of expenses in an "Emergency" fund. And at this point, an emergency would have to be something like a trip to the hospital to get me to pull out that account and spend any of it.
  13. Cash is King! You spend a lot less when you use only cash. Why? Because a Cash transaction is not only a money transaction, it's an emotional one too. It hurts to see that money leave your hands. So you are less likely to add that pack of gum at the check out, or grab the extra bag of chips that weren't on your shopping list. I started following Dave Ramsey last year, who is a radio talk show host here in the states, he teaches money management the old fashioned way. 1. Start every month with a written budget. 2. Spend less than what you make. And only what is on the budget. 3. Never buy anything you don't have cash for. 4. Get out of Debt and stay that way.
  14. I usually am not that overt about guarding mine, but I do shield the keypad with my body and hit my 4 digit sequence very quickly, so as not to linger over the keypad very long. Next time don't make eye contact with those around you and you wont feel bad about it after.
  15. That is a real tragedy, Our hearts go out to the family. This is one of the conversations with young ones that can never be easy.
  16. I never thought this day would come...... hoped for Sacred 3 before Closed Net shut down. I'll watch the thread as we get closer to see what time Zone I line up with. Schot needs to put a Count down clock on the homepage for all to see. cheers Loco
