  1. Notes: Being a mage is fun. The Ice line is awesome. The thunder line up to tempest is awesome. Blood magic is awesome. Rogue archers are very fun.
  2. I read there were a lot of people working on mods but a lot of those mods may be on german sites. Would it be helpful to have a thread with links to sites with downloadable sacred 2 mods? I've enjoyed reading about the mods and ideas people have even though I don't have the pc version myself. Its fun to see others' creativity.
  3. The reindeer mount thing was understood to be completely crazy unrealistic but make you chuckle. The whole tree thing was a great idea though tim.
  4. It would be really neat to have a carrier imp on a sleigh drawn by flying mounts.... Sing it.. You know tigy and lizzy and serpy and spidy... houndy and dracy, horsey and Mobiculum!
  5. Agreed that it is not possible to optimize without doing research. Some people may not care about optimizing prefering to just "play for fun". The problem with this game is that its not "fun enough" to play for fun without researching I guess so a lot of the fun is in the character design, trying to make a better character and impressing others with your character design (ladder feature). It would be nice if there was a little more focus on gameplay and storytelling in the next installment via more choices that make a difference in how the game plays out. I feel no emotional connection whatsoever to my characters or the quest they are doing and I never read the quest descriptions, just following the yellow arrow. I also hardly ever did any sidequest because I feel the rewards were for the most part worthless. At least the character design part is fun .
  6. So, what do you think? I'm going to vote for in sacred games designing the character is more fun than actually playing. I find the character design to be very developed and the gameplay experience to be somewhat lacking (except in the goal of testing character builds). For me a good rpg is one that is very fun both to play and with regards to character design. I think sacred scores better in the first department than the second. Concerning builds, I would like to be able to make my own builds without consulting any resources but the game is way too ambiguous to do that effectively without community resources. So for this game and for me, at first the only way to enjoy it was to play a build by someone else to learn game, then do research, then make own builds.
  7. The only real must in the game is armor lore. I've never seen a build without it. All other skills depend on the build. There are lots of ways to reduce damage. I suggest you research damage mitigation.
  8. I think I'm pretty much done with this game. After finishing niob I didn't feel like there was anything challenging left to do. It felt tedious after that. I do like this community though so I will say hi from time to time. Wish there were more active discussion of other games too. Currently playing Dragon Age and having fun with it. I hope they make sacred 3 and do a good job with it.
  9. 50 horses huh.... Someone wanted to start the arcanian cavelry. It would be cool if you could buy 50 horses and hire 50 soldiers and run with an army...
  10. This game is great fun. GREAT story. Highly recommend it. Watch out because the soundtracks have only one language it seems. French version does not have english texts or voices... booooooo. Would have been so easy to include text for all languages even if voices are only for one. There is a lot of talking in it which takes some getting used to versus other games where there is almost none . Its possible to get 100% spell resistance in this game which means you take 0 damage from spells and no adverse effects from spells. Interesting if you want to try a playthrough by yourself. I have not been able to find a lot of resources though. I really want something describing all the differences in game mechanics between pc and console versions like the one I wrote for the wikia but I can't find it and the information available is much more limited than info about sacred and less organized. Apparently a human commoner was planned but they cut it (because of development time maybe)? Overall seems theres much less bugs than in sacred games though.
  11. Would be great to see some legacy quests in sacred 3 like the schot booze quest.
  12. So if the host leaves, you do not automatically "become" the new host? It is wisest to quit the game and create a new one in this case to avoid dying by lag-death? I have found it easier so far to play with others by joining their games rather than starting games on my own as I find it rare that someone randomly joins my games. If you play pvp, you can't be concerned about dieing probably. There will be cheaters and there will be some people who don't cheat. The cheaters probably get bored because they win all the time and quit eventually. I can't manage my game time enough to have fixed times/appointments to play with someone. I just kinda play when I can which isn't actually that much and I almost never know when this will be.
  13. Yes, you probably lose the survival bonus since you die. I died from lag death once in someone else's game or at least that's what it seemed like. I was pushing buttons like crazy to drink them and nothing happened. I think the person had quit the game previous to this happening. So an advantage of having your own game is maybe that you don't die from lag death? But if you start your own game, there's no new people in it at least at the beginning? What happens if you join a game of someone else's and then that person quits? Are you now hosting the game and can others join it or is that game now closed to others?
  14. Perhaps that's a difference between xbox and pc multiplayer. PC multiplayer is first to enter an area whereas xbox multiplayer is the one hosting the server?
  15. What effect does mystic stormite lore have on crystal skin and cascading shroud if any? For example, will it boost the physical armor bonus from crystal skin - or have any other effect? Thanks As far as I can tell from wiki and posting locations, it should have no effect on these but some lores effect other buffs ex: revered lore effecting damage boosts from bfg enhancements.
  16. Yeah, I guess if you're going to pvp no need to worry about deaths! I might try to expirement with it. Chattius' posts make it sound like fun. Ok, so basically its the experience only on console that determines leaderboard position.
  17. Hi loco, that's very interesting. It seems always better to play with others then, even if those others are lower level than you. In your experience, does the monsters level depend on the level of the player that starts the server, the first player to enter an area, or something else? Yes, I was talking about leaderboards. So there is no penalty if your character dies - you get a death marked on the board but it doesn't change your score or position? Its only based on experience of the character? I seem to remember seeing low level characters higher position than some higher level characters so I think its more complicated than only experience.
  18. Is the experience which is multiplied by 1-5 to 2X at base then shared divided if you are close enough to the other players or do they get the same amount which is increased? For example, if base experience is 100 when I am alone and 150 when there are 2 of us from a given critter and then we are close together and the critter dies, do we each get 150 or do we each get 75? If we would both get 150, its obviously better to play with as many people as possible. If we would both get 75, it becomes debatable whether it is better to play alone or not. What about the level of the person who started the server? Do all the critters have levels based on the person who started a server? Thus you would get better experience by joining a server created by someone with a higher level and less by joining a server created by someone with a lower level?
  19. The PC ladder has been shut down, but the ladder on consoles works. I just don't know how the position in the ladder is determined which is what I was curious about.
  20. I'm trying to determine if I'm better off joining someone's game or playing by myself for faster levelling. I never saw green xp over my head at a point I didn't kill a monster - will you see this xp over your head if the other player kills a monster offscreen? In the same token, if I kill a monster and it says I get 50 000 xp in the green numbers, is half of that actually going to the other player and not to me if the other player is far away? Do the drops get better if you're playing with more people on the server?
  21. Some questions about multiplayer mode - do you get more or less experience by playing in a game with other people? Do you have to be near the other people on the server to get experience generated by them? Does anyone know how the ladder works? Thanks
  22. I finally decided to take the plunge and go live. Gamer tag: redka243. Will be working on a high elf build some weekday nights and next sunday European time. Stupid question: can you start a character offline and then go online and play with it as long as they are on the same gamer tag? I think on PC, you can't join an online server if you created your character in single player mode?
  23. This is a good argument for adding some points to willpower I think. Especially on characters with energy shields where willpower will increase the shield power (more than vitality increases hp in a lot of cases) and willpower will also increase resistance vs DOT.
  24. Does that mean every hit does 15K more damage while your killing spree is active? Can you also post a shot of your rousing command/augmenting guidion Combat Arts for comparison?
  25. I saw this article today about the CEO of square enix who thinks that console gaming is going to disappear in 10 years: http://www.mcvuk.com/news/36665/Square-Eni...posted#comments I hope he's wrong. Consoles are great for the casual gamer because they make the software developers develop games for specific hardware specifications. If you want to have a good gaming experience on PC, you have to update your graphics card very very very regularly and this is expensive. You can keep the same console for 3-5 years and still have a great gaming experience. This is why I think there will always be demand for consoles for the casual gamer. I prefer to play on console because of the couch comfort factor and I would prefer to pay for my games once rather than pay a continuing subscription, which is asked for in most cases where games are played online. Sacred 2 for PC is an exception, sacred 2 for console is not. What about you: do you prefer pc or console and why? Do you think console gaming will disappear in the future?
