  1. How about some of the wrong names of set items? Like seraphim's Chestplate of Fury which is a helmet. R u gonna rename it Helmet of Fury or something like that? R u gonna be doing those kinda minor fixes, too?
  2. Hmm... maybe, maybe... We'll talk about that honey enema first, huh?
  3. Have u guys tried getting the editor to work? R the actual files for it there or just the code to start it up?
  4. Some more inqy Area of Effect preview. Info: Wyand Voidbringer
  5. It is a definite yes about the kill speed. I didn't even have to test this theory to figure it out. Just through normal gameplay. How did I get to that conclusion then? Well, next time u play, actually pay attention what's happening with drops while u fight and just do this simple test: 1. Kill an enemy as fast as u can. 2. Hit an enemy to decrease it's health, but don't kill it. Instead wait a couple of seconds and proceed with the kill. The result should be this: 1. At least a blue item, lots of gold, maybe rune etc. 2. Depending how much u waited after a hit, u might actually not get anything. What I strongly believe is that the game starts the "clock" for the drop for a target as soon as the target takes dmg, whether it is from you're direct attack or not (minions, quest companions, reflect dmg from you're buff etc.). And there is no way anyone will convince me differently because I know that every time I killed an enemy fast I got something (blue-yellow-set-unique), while when it happened that it took me a few seconds to kill an enemy because they run away (sandmen to heal for example) in 100% of the case they dropped either a grey item with gold, just gold, or nothing at all. I get a lot of good drops with my fast killers, one shotters and mob nukers, while any enemy that runs away and I have to chase after them and kill them is an extremely poor drop or nothing. Couple the speed killing with good MF and u have urself quite a "finder". Just my $0.2
  6. Hey, cool. Haven't seen in the game yet, only in pics. If I could get any 1 of those for my collection, it'd be great.
  7. Thanks, Schot. So, moving the ingame slider won't reset the zoom values to the default options.txt values? I mean, when I put slide it back to max after a boss fight, it will still be a value of 2000 like in the optionsCustom.txt?
  8. Definitely Focus. When it comes to battle Combat Arts, higher level will increase the Combat Art dmg, and decrease the regen. Lore gives a very small increase in dmg for every point, and I can always get an incomparable amount of dmg from x-x dmg rings for weapon based Combat Arts and the dmg% for the non-weapon based Combat Arts. Sure, Lore increases good stuff like the armor and hp regen on AB and the energy shield etc. But Lore is almost useless without Focus and Focus doesn't need Lore.
  9. The "enraged player" mods on rings would be very useful if the effect kicked in at any hp value under 100%. So, ya when u "get hurt". Or a more reasonable thing would be that the value is max increase u can get, which is when u get to 25% of hp, and the bigger you're hp % the smaller amount of bonus u get from the max indicated by the mod. This way u wouldn't get overpowered, but still get some minor bonus when you're (actually) hurt. I mean, 25% of hp just to get some extra dmg is very risky, especially for HC. U'd have to be crazy to do it, be cause u could easely get 1 shotted, especially if you're boss farming... And, anyway, with LL% and dblow, the enraged players mod is really obsolete...
  10. The camera is amazing now, Schot (the newest setting). It's something that should've been originally. I only have 1 problem with it, tho. It zooms out too much when fighting a boss and it doesn't let u zoom in at all. Any way to fix that little thingy?
  11. No. Remember when u have, for example, ice dmg in a weapon and it's in one of you're weapon slots. When u switch to that slot to equip the ice weapon, the cold effect isn't active straight away, it starts slowly from nothing, going downwards, right? Well, what we r saying is that that visual effect resets every time some "update" happens related to you're char. The best way to see what we mean is to just equip a weapon with some dmg other than physical and watch it as u gain experience, or when u r changing gear or when u r using skill/attribute points.
  12. Awesome. btw, since you're dealing with items, do u know anything about those sets I posted on the previous page?
  13. @gogo +all skills jewelry @Schot Np. Well, like Barris says... The rune stats increase only with hard points. They will also increase a set amount with soft points, but like I said, a SET amount. U have to have a certain amount of soft points raising the skill above the hard value to increase the rune stats, but having any soft points above required will not raise the rune stats more. So, other than a small increase (which u probably already have), like Barris said, it is only worth it for the cost and unsocketing. My dmg rune is 40.2% in bronze.
  14. Hey, czevak. Are u also gonna make the code items drop? That in itself would add quite a bit more items to the game.
  15. lol If you're so shocked about it now, what would u say if I told u it was over 700 b4 Ice and Blood nerfed the +all skills jewelry. I could have it at about 500 now, but I'm lazy to reforge into a couple other 3 socket items...
  16. I'm not a member of the clan, but I htink it's not far from the truth saying that I am a friend of it. And as a friend I'm letting everyone know that they can come to me if they need forging of gear in Niob. I am sure that some of u have you're own smiths, but the more u have, the better, especially with those low level character events u have. Now, I've been lazy in taking him to 200, which I will do eventually, but at level 133, this is his smith skill atm: The dmg he can slot is more than 40% in a bronze slot. He can save quite high level jewelry from gear. I think highest I tried so far was level 160+ jewelry and saved them from all 3 slots. Tho, the mechanics of the jewelry saving is very weird. I think it has a lot to do with the item itself because there r some very low level items that I can't save. Like, I'll get 1 out and all others r lost. For example, it happened quite a few times with level 60+ (I think) jewelry while all of the ones above level 100 were always saved. Weird. Anyway, that's it. U get the picture. If anyone needs any forging, post when r u going to be online and I'll see if I can get there at that time, or u'll just have to be lucky and find me I the game. Keep in mind that it's AUS time for me. I usually play the game till about 5am. Usually start in the evening. Cheers.
  17. Like it says in the description, there is no bug with the quest itself, but I noticed that when u go to El Darrag and the quest starts, you're minions won't attack the sandmen no matter what. And it's not the matter of minions not waking up after teleporting. I ran there, fighting stuff on the way. This is the only case so far (in 2.65.2) that I've seen minions ignoring enemies.
  18. Whenever the game updates with something, the effect on a weapon restarts. For example, whenever u gain experience, the lightsabers will "turn on" again. Same when you're changing gear or talking to ppl. So, like I said, any kinda "update" in the game.
  19. I haven't used minions since 2.40. Today I had a bit of fun with the spectral soldiers, and thought I'd set their tactics. What happens is that the range got mixed up with the actual commands. -"Stay near me" is now medium range, -"Medum range" is now far range, -"Far range" is now "Stay near me" range. I dunno how much other ppl use minions and if they do give commands, and if they do - did they notice this? Curious at what point this got mixed up. Ice and Blood, 2.65.1 or 2.65.2...?
  20. So... if it's for good, what's next? The other forums, and then the servers? Slowly burying Sacred 2?
  21. It seemed strange that it is so hard to get to the char screen when it all used to be good a long time ago. I used to be able to just quickly jump in and out of games and with different chars, but now even a simple thing as checking a mule has become quite an effort... Some ppl don't have a problem, but some, like me, do. A thing tho, that a lot of ppl didn't realize is that during the "connecting" the game gives up on trying, like something blocked it or something. Why I say that a lot of ppl don't realize this is because I read posts that they wait for an hour or something to connect. That is *******. What ppl should do is, whenever u try to connect, look at the lamps on you're modem/router. If they stop blinking it means that network activity has stopped, which means there is no point u waiting for the thing to connect when it's not even trying to. So, If the lamps stop blinking, just click cancel and try to connect again. And keep repeating until u get to char screen. At the char screen the lamps will stop blinking which is normal. So, basically instead of waiting for ages, always check the lamps to see if anything's happening. Anyway, that was just a tip, not the actual idea I was gonna spill. Here's the idea: I figured that Sacred 2 might be using ports other than 6800 (for EU), because that's how the whole problem looks with the difficulty of connecting. It turned out to be correct, so here is what u need to do. Grab this tool, install it, run it and scroll all the way down and click on Open Ports. Then, click to sort the entries by Description and scroll down to the Sacred 2 entries. The first entry is for the game client and the rest is for the server, but u only need the info of the second entry (first server entry). Open that remote port in you're modem/router config and see if there is any change when u try to connect. Now, don't expect miracles from this. The only difference I have noticed is that I can connect a bit more often without problems. So, it is definitely not a fix. I guess it it just one obstacle less in trying to connect. Everyone who had a problem connecting will still have it, but hopefully not as much. The only thing is, that port u opened changes randomly each time u start the game (not play, actually run the .exe), so u will have to get the port number and change it in the modem/router config. Sorry if this was totally useless for everyone. I was just trying to help because the connection issue is p*****g me off as much as everyone else. I really don't know why is it like this. It didn't used to be b4 I left the game for a long break... The only thing I can think of is that whoever is the host for closed.net cut down on the "resources" or something and their service providing is down to a bare minimum now or something. I dunno... I'm just thinking out loud... Anyway... Cheers. EDIT: OK, figured out a better way which actually seems to be good so far. Connected a few times in a row very fast. Instead of checking the ports b4 u connect to lobby, actually try to connect and when u eventually get into the game, then have a look at the Sacred 2 entries. U will see u only have 1 entry which is the one u need. Just open up the 4 number port which is for you're game(in my case 5560). This port doesn't change randomly. I realized there is no point opening the game server ports because in closed.net u don't use you're own server client. I am curious if anyone will give this a try and post their experience. EDIT: Another thing u might wanna try is changing you're Transmit and Receive buffers. These buffers are simply used to stack bytes of data into a single grouping (called a "buffer") to be sent out to the serial bus on an open port on your computer. They group the data into a data stream to reduce the load on the CPU, rather than having the CPU send byte by byte to serial bus and then out the open port they group them in mass and then send them, essentially saving resources. Higher value should be better, but maybe it takes a bit long to pack up so many bytes for Sacred 2 and it needs to be faster for proper info transfer. So, if u have set to 512, try 256 etc. So, just try setting those values to 1/2 less or 2x and see if there is any improvement. If there is no difference, just change back to default (remember the default values b4 changing). Just note that each time u change the values and hit OK, you're internet connection will reset. In my experience, it was set to Transmit at 256 and receive at 32 by default. A long time ago I changed it to double the value (512x64). It turns out (in my case) that the lower value was much better (changed it today) not only for the game but especially for browsing the net. I am on dial-up speed at the moment as I used up my DL limit for this month, but I was still able to play the game online today with no difference than with my full net speed. Except during lobby connecting which takes longer, but gameplay - no difference. So, just another thing u could try. No harm can if u do it right, so don't blame me if u f**k up something.
