  1. Haha, don't worry about that. I've yet to play baldur's gate 2, and the other games you referred to. I'll look into those.
  2. Oh man, you got to see the northern lights? I've been looking outside for 2 days, didn't see any of them here. The moon looked spooky though, orange.
  3. Thanks for the reply. It's really helpful. However, a bit confused about this: I'm playing the latest steam version with only the purist fixpack added.
  4. Yeah I know, I've mentioned I've played shadow warrior mostly, and I have. But I decided to take a short break and try inquisitor out a bit, and damn do I love his Area of Effect spells vs a mass of weak targets. However, I'm a bit confused. How do I focus on astute supremacy and still deal with strong single targets, mostly bosses somewhat effectively? Also, which path should I go for defense? At the moment I'm going combat reflexes to up my dodge, so I can have a chance when enemies hack away at me. That is ofcourse after I put my points in intelligence and astute supremacy lore as my main weapon. Which leaves dexterity completely un-leveled, which in turn makes my defense ability suffer. You may answer: "just use a guide, duh". To that I'd have to say that I mainly enjoy figuring things out as I go along for myself, but I'd still love a few pointers before I mess up my character beyond repair.
  5. While we're on the subject of food, let me tell you a short story: I was running out of money towards the end of the month and needed to eat whatever I had lying around. This was potatoes, mushrooms, garlic, chilipeppers and sour cream. Can you see where this is going? I plopped it all into a frying pan and put the heat on. It was sizzling nicely in there, and I felt like a master chef when I was done. Hot and spicy from the garlic and peppers, tasty and thick from the potatoes and mushrooms, with extra volume added by the sour cream. A nice dinner, right? Except I forgot to mention that the potatoes were slightly.... off. In fact, they were so far gone that they were as green as kiwis on the inside. I don't know much about potatoes, but I've heard that they may contain some alkaloid toxins around the time they celebrate their birthday. Needless to say, a couple of hours after I ate my frankenmeal, half my body turned pink and swollen. The worst part was the intense itching. Dear god, I had streaks of my fingernails running up and down over the pink areas of my skin A while later it passed, or whatever toxins I naturally carry in my haywire system managed to combat and defeat the stuff trying to kill me. So here I am, not having dared to buy a single potato since, and feeling just fine about it. Check your 'taters folks, whether you boil 'em, mash 'em or stick 'em in a stew, if it's green - throw it in a bin.
  6. Currently listening to L'âme immortelle, for those in the mood for some electronic goth music.
  7. We had some sudden snowfall despite it being relatively mild. Walking the saint bernard through it felt like dragging a stone. She loved it though. Made for snow and all.
  8. Wow I don't remember any of how DS2's multiplayer worked. I played it with my brother once via LAN and had a good time, that's all I can recall of that. Some memories come back when playing sacred 2 right now though. I remember playing it on PS3 a bit over 10 years ago, and it didn't have the expansion/dlc on there. First thing that tipped me off was that the white griffin is now tied to a quest that needs activation to spawn him in. Back then, he just came out of nowhere and made me have a little accident.
  9. Regarding rpg's, has anyone played games such as baldur's gate, divinity 2 and dungeon siege? Those rank quite high with me, and I keep going back to them.
  10. A couple that comes to mind right now, yes. World of tanks and battlefield heroes (closed 10 years ago) Most single player games won't really have this, but lately a lot of games insist on being online, where this might appear more and more. All I'm saying is: Keep a look out of exclusive stuff.
  11. But, but.. what if playing beta gives you something special, exclusive even. Like a funny hat, or a medal, or a super-rare weapon.
  12. Currently running the purist fixpack to see if it keeps the game in check a bit more. Did the purist fixpack add stacking for runes, or have I lost my mind?
  13. You might be mistaking the top picture for northern lights. I've only seen them once in my lifetime. They are far more common farther north in the country, not down here in the west/southwest. These were just some windswept clouds appearing behind the mountains after sunset. Still a great spectacle that I just had to take a picture of.
  14. The game is running purely vanilla right now. What is the Purist fixpack?
  15. See title. Happened a couple of times now. The game runs just fine for several hours, zero stuttering or drops in fps. All of a sudden, BAM - 5 fps. Not gradual, just a sudden loss of performance. First thing I thought was my GPU was throttling massively from overheating, but it runs whisper-quiet here compared to other games where it sounds like a jet turbine with fans spinning to keep cool. So what gives? Have there been similar reports before? I did a quick search to see if other people had the same issue, but it was always slightly different. Someone reported memory loss, another one talked about instant fps-drop when entering the game, etc. Despite my limited technical knowledge of computers, I've still used them for 20+ years with all kinds of different problems needing to be fixed. In case of a memory loss, I've always experienced them happening gradually, the game worsening over a period of time.
  16. Quite damp and windy in this part of the country. Getting the full blast of the gulf stream usually means the snow doesn't stick around for too long. Took some nice pictures late last year:
  17. For some reason, the Diablo games never truly gripped me. Played them loosely once upon a time.
  18. Old returning member after a decade of absence. Started playing sacred 2 again after I honestly forgot it existed for nearly 10 years. After some fidgeting with settings and files, I got it working, and now I'm getting my ass kicked by the white griffin as a dual-wielding shadow warrior. Game still looks great, in my opinion. Hope to see you guys around!
  19. Been on a A-ha binge lately. Their early work is a treat to anyone who enjoys some good old synth pop:
  20. If you don't find a buyer, you can try https://www.chilloutgames.co.uk/ They take in old, used games and they sell them on for a profit. I've bought from them several times. Please contact them with a complete list and which region they belong to, and I'm sure they'll reply.
  21. Let me necro this thread a bit: If you have trouble with the steam version of sacred 2 gold, it's most likely due to nvidia physX being too recent for the game to read. Uninstall physx, search for and delete all the physx-related files on your pc, and install the one that comes with the game. That worked wonders for me. On top of that, I'm using the "-skipopenal -nocpubinding" launch options. No compability mode on, but I have chosen "disable fullscreen optimizations" and "run as administrator" on the sacred2.exe file in system. Same for the s2gs.exe file, if that matters. I'm not entirely sure if I can play other, newer games without having to reinstall a more recent physx version, but for as long as I'm playing sacred 2, I'm sticking to the old one.
  22. I'd love to play Diablo 3, but I think it would have to be on my PS3. My craptop can't handle newer games. And thanks for the reply, Gogo. I just had to take the time to write about Eve. It's too much fun to go unadvertised. I only wish I had started playing it in 2003, so I would have a real badass character now. Also, I forgot to mention that the whole market in Eve is player controlled. Everything you see in the market is put there by another player. Corporations mine, refine, manufacture and put items for sale to gain money and control. There is also a uncharted cluster of star systems at the northeastern corner of the star-map. This is said to be the home of the mysterious, technically superior and insidious Jovian race. They are NPC only, except to a selected few. This suggests that some players have been invited to the Jovian empire. Perhaps one day, they will break out of isolation and start a war against the rest of the known universe. Feuding corporations and alliances would have to combine their forces to fight the invaders. Wouldn't that be awesome?
  23. My addictions are collecting DVD's, music CD's (mainly heavy metal), playing and collecting videogames (I have about 60 for PS3) and eating good food while watching a good sci-fi/action flick. I recently bought all 5 seasons of Babylon 5. It cost me about 50 punds.
