Smurf Attacks on a network

Recommended Posts

Ive going around with this problems for several months now, always shrugged it off and reseted the router.

So almost everytime this comes in my router log:

PPPoE1 start PPP

PPPoE receive PADS

PPPoE send PADR

PPPoE receive PADO

PPPoE send PADI

ADSL Media Up !

PPPoE send PADI

PPPoE send PADI

PPPoE send PADI

PPPoE send PADI

PPPoE stop

PPPoE1 stop PPP

**Smurf** 221.127.14.0, 12718->> my current WAN adress (not sure), 49404 (from PPPoE1 Inbound)

The adress where te smurf is coming from is different always, google trace led me to Iceland, HongKong & Llama City (last one's a joke ;) )

Soooo

Anyone know what the hell I'm supposed to do against this smurfs?

cheers!

Sounds like you've been turned into a zombie in a botnet, though I'm just guessing, but if you're sending stuff automatically it kind of implies that or a keylogger...

Scan your machine, and try something other than your current AV.

If that fails, try and trace whats doing the sending on your computer, and remove it

Also, who is shows 221.127.14.0 to be in Hong Kong...

Yea Hong Kong's are hackers :twitch:

btw it's INBOUND, so it's not coming from my computer, have scanned and am scanning it with AVG, HiJack This, Spybot, Ad-aware etc...

so no virus/spyware, I'll give a little more information of a Smurf Attack << it's only wikipedia no worries

The problem is I can't find a good answer to a solution with google so I tried asking here :yay:
