Conversion damage to : Magic % ?

What does Conversion damage to : Magic % mean?

 

Could anyone please explain because I added that spec to my weapon, and I really don't know what it does..

the damage that your weapon does (when you slot that into the socket whatever % that item says it willconvert to magic damage...)

 

e.g.

 

sword does 100-100 (physical)damage

socket convert 30% magic damage

 

 

sword now does

 

70 physical damage

30 magical damage
