when I saw the word Orc Tech Saw...got me to thinking... what about Lores for races...or specific lores only available for a character class.

Would this work?

Like what if a Dryad (or any other class) or if they were races in this case... could choose a class/race specific lore...

hmmm

;)

They need to widen the bar for more character customizations. Add more skills and modifications, also better quest rewards maybe bonus pts for stats or talents. I mean Holy Hannah! does a 2h sword do me if I use dual wield.

But why would you expect it to? Unless DW mastery allowed you to use a two-handed weapon in your main hand & a normal-sized weapon in your off hand. Which would actually be quite cool, thinking about it...

In Diablo 2 the Barbarian was able to DW two handed weapons like spears.

Pretty much what I want to.

Something that really bugs me in this game would be the cinematics for the spells. The first time I played Sacred 2 on the xbox, I went seraphim and found a rune for ARCHANGELS WRATH. You see that? Say it out loud for yourself once. ARCHANGELS WRAAAATH. Not a snotball.

I'm with you on this. I'd prefer if it starts out as a snotball and become something more awe inspiring (wrath-like) as you level it up.

Incendiary Shower can start out as a few red dew drops and end up as something resembling an actual meteor shower. Biiiiiig explosions!

Then I'd like to say (as so many before me): forgive me if I'm repeating any previous suggestions with the rest of this post...

I don't really want to compare Sacred with Diablo II or Titan Quest as far as "can do this & can't do that" goes, but Titan Quest had more of a feeling that battles were building up to a boss fight. In Sacred you just hack along until you're at the boss and then it's a fight. OK so the creeps get more tough depending on level and region, but I still don't get the sense of a boss fight looming. I think it might be because of all the rats chasing me around...

Then there's the god spell. I usually forget about it until the battle is already fought and won, even if I manage to remember my god spell, I'm not really convinced that it swings the outcome in my favor. I'd much rather have a 10 minute cooldown on something like a kamehameha and know that whatever used to be in front of me is now worm food.

Then there's something that Llama mentioned - the ability to upgrade weapons via smithing and alchemy. Even if it has to work on a % chance of success depending on the skill level. I'm thinking Torchlight here - there's a dude you can pay to enchant any item with. There is a chance for success, chance for nothing to happen and even a chance that all goes wrong and all modifiers are lost!

The same could be said with combining items. Vagrant Story did well to combine, say a sword and a bow to result in a crossbow.

Since I'm not much of a shopper and depend on drops, this would be a great alternate. I spent waaayyy too many hours of my life at Bravemart to start it all over again in Sacred 2/S3.

More mini sets please!

I don't mind if there are fewer or more class set items, just make them more :BlobRed: and less :sigh: . Give us something to wear with pride. I'm not wearing full sets because the whole really is not better than the sum of their parts IMO.

If escort quests exist, please let them stay close! I fail too many escort quests because the escortee runs a mile away from trouble, right into more trouble and so on and so forth...

Better quest rewards. I'd like to know that if I have to run miles and beat up countless critters to recover a shield\sword\jewelry, that it would at least equal my current equipped item. I never mind XP gained through side quests, but that is actually the main reason I'm completing them, not for the gold and not for the 90% chance that I'm going to scrap any reward item.

I hate the item speed penalty mechanism. It's OK to know that higher-than-character level items is gonna slow me down if equipped, but I leave it at that. I get the feeling that speed penalty is just a little too random?

I want to be able to start the game on gold (at least).

When I started this reply, I never intended it to turn out as another wish list entry... but it has - sorry

I would like a return of the Dwarf class please. Along with his Flamethrower ca. Very cool indeed. I really miss that little dude.

It's probably been said a hundred times, but I ain't gonna start reading through every post just to check !

See ya,

Steve. :)

I"m kinda getting tired of same-named uniques that keep spawning at higher levels with improved stats, but same skin/same name.

I'm hoping that for Sacred 3 they actually find the time to create unique weapons that spawn the 200 levels...or just make 100 levels and fill 'em with truly unique stuff.

Maybe having to fill 200 levels is too much for any game company to fill with in a decent amount of time while staying above profit line for game release?

Like Legendaries?

IMO, one of the good things about Sacred is that if you find the "perfect" unique/set item for your particular build you know that it's possible to get it again later on but with better stats, rather than games like Diablo where you'll find a set/unique & it'll only be useable for a few levels.

As to the numerical max level, that's a red herring, the amount of time it'll take you to actually reach it (or 3/4 of it, etc) is more important & how well (or not) the game is balanced for that.

See, I guess this could be a case of the grass always greener? I kind of want to have the gaming experience where, when I say I got something everyone knows precisely what I'm talking about, and when we all hurrah, we know exactly what the finite stats for it are. I know this is kind of impossible for the way the game is built now, just so many levels... that's what got me thinking to...maybe we just have too many? Then again, I don't know how this would play out. I've never played Diablo, so don't know how I'd feel with only half the levels that the Sacred franchise has offered...then again...wouldn't the levels mean more if there were less?

I wonder if Sacred and Sacred 2 could have been practice runs...what if in Sacred 3...there were only 100 levels...and with the the requisite changes and ease of pressure in having to create so many items, monsters like there exists now in Sacred 2? If the levels were halved...would we even need bronze, silver, gold, plat, niobium?

Like llama said, its not the number of levels, its how long it takes to get through them that matters. If it takes as long to get to a level cap of 100 as it does a cap of 200 there is no change, except numerically for those who don't no the truth. Things will be the same, yet scale at a faster rate...I don't think that you can cut back on the number of regions/monsters to fill them with and the number of uniques...thats what this game is about...there is so much diversity. Perhaps by focusing more on details like making uniques/legendaries truly useful there would be no need to have as many of them...but there still need to be more than a handful of super items that everyone wants to promote diversity within the game. It would be a boring game if everyone played all the same way.

Just had a look at the Diablo 3 site and found this on crafting items.

Since it seems that Sacred (and other ARPGs) will always have Diablo as a benchmark, it certainly puts pressure (IMO) on Sacred 3 to deliver the same type of feature. But Sacred 3 will have the advantage to filter out all the problems that gamers had with Diablo 3's mechanics and build something better, stronger and faster $1,000,000

I hope that S3 is kept an mmorpg, I love sacred 2. I hope that deep silver decides to bring S3 out on console. I hope that they decide to keep the temple guardian in it and think that the eventual ability for it to duel wield weapons would be neat. on the subject of duel wielding weapons, I think that the ability to duel wield pistols would be WIN! the one thing the I didn't like about the temple guardian was its inability to duel wield... the gun arm can turn into an array of lasers, a mace, and even a tentacle with a sword on the end of it but has the apparent inability to turn into a workable appendage that can grip something.

First off, Welcome to DarkMatters...

2.) You will be happy to note that DeepSilver is working on a console version for both XBox and PS3 fans. You can read about it here.

3.) Sacred 2 is not an MMORPG. While you can play it online, it also has a single player mode which does not require an online server. It's also got one other major thing missing that makes it different from your garden variety MMO - you don't have to pay a monthly subscription fee to play. Once you've bought the game - you done paying for the game or the ability to play it.

4.) The Temple Guardian - his configuration, by definition is "dual wield" - he's the only one who comes that way straight out of the box. He can blast enemies with one arm, turn and slice and dice another opponent into juliene fries - without having to change weapons - ever. It's how he rolls... And when using the Battle Extension - he's, in fact, triple wielding...

OK.. Fine. So he can't hold two swords at the same time. It's not his thing. Properly built, the TG can kick major backside just fine without dual wielding in the "traditional" sense.

I definitely agree with you guys on this. I'm just trying to see if there is a way for there to be no weapons with same names multi leveling.

If 200 levels would remain, can we think of a way wherewhich items would be truly unique and only last a few levels, with the next weapon being called a different name with different stats?

I am looking for the shared experience where when I say "omgod I found the sword of Nuclear Winter!" everyone would fawn in adoration and envy, and most importantly, they would know exactly which number of levels the weapon would be good for, as the stats for that particularly named weapon would be unique with no respawning of it again at higher levels with better stats.

What has been said can not be unsaid... but my Inquisitor is using Kuan and to be honest I never actually used it up until the Octogolamus encounter and suddenly I realized the potency of this godspell! Me and my doppleganger could not accomplish much and out of desperation I let loose Kuan on the old tentacled push-over. While the white flash was goin' I took it down from about 90% to 10%. I might have snuck in a few crits, but I owe that victory to Kuan  I tried the same thing against Ordaurcil and same result: "two ticks and a tango" and down he went, this was also the first time that I saw a boss run for his life! He took to the air 3 times in order to try and escape!

So I can for the 1st time say that the god spell actually turned a battle in my favour. :woot:
