Timotheus 414
As some of you may know, I'm trying to have a bit of fun with photoshop at the moment. Now, the thing that sparked my interest on Photoshop, were contests on different Dutch forums I visited over the years. These involved signatures, avatars, but also one of the big favorites: photoshopping cars. What does it involve? It involves 4 things. One: a picture of a car. 2. Photoshop or a similar program. 3. The internet for parts. And 4. your imagination. Some examples of others: http://forum.techzine.nl/forum/list_messages/89439 http://forum.techzine.nl/forum/list_messages/52767 I'm currently working on a Jaguar XF. Here's the original: And here's my progress (slow! lol): What's been done? -Lowered the car -Cleaned the front bumper a bit What am I doing now? -Prepping for a color change -Looking for parts What's on the to do list? -Modifications to the bumpers, side skirts and maybe a spoiler -Color change So, share your thoughts Link to comment
Popcicle 0
Looks good but the car has been lowered to much.. if that were to be driven the wheels would go into the metal... = not good xD It looks like the version you got is a photoshoped version of the original that you're photoshoping again ;p shadows dun really make sense (maybe just my wierd eyes) Link to comment
Timotheus 414
Shadows don't make sense? How? And the original should be just that, original. I'm not that happy on the lowering of the car either, but that's also due to the fact that it's pretty much in perspective and I don't really know how to handle that yet. Because if you look closer, the front is way less lowered than the back... Got some reading to do on that EDIT OK it turned to be a bit of a chop-job but I tried fixing the wheel arches so it looks more realistic. Edited October 23, 2009 by Timotheus Link to comment
Schot 406
Looks like fun Timo. A fancy HUD display would be cool. http://www.artefactgroup.com/blog/wp-conte...2009/09/HUD.jpg Regarding the perspective of the car being lowered, did you try using a perspective transformation in Photoshop? Might do the trick. Link to comment
Erling 3
thats cool Timo! and about being the ''orginal'' the orginal is probebly photoshopped a bit with dimming the lightsource to make the car stand out more.. so the shadows are correct me thinks. by ''-colour change'' do you intend to change the colour of the hwole car? gogoblender 3,039
Bravo Timo! I saw this at work and was thinking how jealous I was of peeps that are good with images. Cars lately have been a bit of a draw for me, so your pic took me in. gogo Link to comment
fRACTAL 0
Nice Timo! This seems pretty fun, and I have time on my hands (probably) as it's half term So I'm going to try this too Also @ Erling, what's that grid you have on that picture? Link to comment

Chareos Rantras 0
W00t nice skillz! I like this thread! You planning on photoshopping a black/green car anytime soon? Would be nice for a wallpaper cheers! Chareos Rantras Link to comment
Silearth 6
I am always envious of folks with 1) Photoshop talent 2) the funds to buy Photoshop. I treated myself to PSP Photo X2 Ultimate a few months ago, but it still not photoshop. As for the talent part, I just don't have the patience to do custom work on cars and such. My claim to fame is my series of edited Kaiser Permente ads, though I have only posted my first on this site. Keep up the good work. Link to comment
Timotheus 414
About the funds: look on amazon.co.uk. I bought my version "used like new", it were only the disks + license key, the box was missing. Cost me ~70 pounds (= ~75 euro). Link to comment
Timotheus 414
OK, here's a rough end product. Not finished because I'm not satisfied with the front lip, side skirt. What's been done? -Lowered the car -Cleaned the front bumper a bit -Added sideskirt -Added a front lip under the bumper -Made a custom grill emblem -Added a spoiler -Changed body color -Changed rim color -Added angel eyes -Added an intercooler What am I doing now? -Looking for other parts What's on the to do list? -Changing the parts I don't like -Final touches Oh and, I whipped up a signature in 5 minutes.
