Will this Dryad build work?

I have a level 67 dryad still in silver with the skills:

Tactics Lore

Capricious Hunter Focus

Cabalistic Voodoo Focus

Concentration

Combat Discipline

Combat Reflexes

Constitution

Enhanced Perception

Ranged Weapons

Armor Lore

I am worried because after reading some posts they seemed to imply that nature weaver focus and lore were required for a ranged combat build.

I havent been playing the game enough to really know how everything works and my character farthest into the game is a level 65 inquisitor, with this dryad still being in silver (got carried away VD leveling and my gear sucks from it) so I dont know what I am missing that would make a pumped up ancient bark required for a dryad.

Any help would be appreciated :D

You might need to have a higher level of ancient bark. Do you know about the highest combat art without penalty? That is the level that you can eat runes up to and still get 1 for 1 as you eat a rune it goes up a level. If you don't have focus you have a much lower highest combat art without penalty. At level 75 you have 21 as the penatly level without focus. With focus mastery at 75 the level without penalty is 53.

Your build might work I haven't tested a dryad without nature Focus.

Another problem I just thought of is that bark won't be modded. The mods on bark are simply awesome!

with no Nature focus and armor not until level 65 she's gonna be a bit fragile.

Those aren't the order I took the skills in, sorry about that. Was listing them out of memory. I took armor at 25 :drinks:

I have an inquisitor in platinum that gets his butt kicked pretty bad, but he is in level 40ish gold armor still. He kills stuff fast but thing hit his really hard, so I am taking it that without ancient bark my Druid would prettty much just die in platinum and noib?

Clausius, I wasn't even planing on using ancient bark :oooo: I was thinging of running around with a pet instead.

I had hoped ranged attacking with a pet out might let me not get attacked enough to need that extra protection from ancient bark, but from what you guys are saying and the other posts it sounds a bit like druids are too weak to live without it. If that is the case, does that mean fire mages don't work? I was planing on having my mate live with just constitution and armor lore for protection as well

Sorry to ask so many questions, I know I should probably just try it to see how it works, but I figure if someone else tried in the past I might as well learn from them :sob:

You'll have to test for yourself. Try to keep armor updated. not so much boots and things but the chest piece and head should be update to get the armor values higher.. Boots updated to gold will also give better mods progressively.

Most people try to use the bark buff with a dryad. I'm not saying it can't be done without, but what other options do a dryad have? No toughness for example. Same thing with temple guardians and an energy shield. Everyone uses it. You should try it and test, but the thing is that its a lot of time to put in a toon if you wanted one to beat niob and it gets stuck.

OK, guess I will just see how it goes. It is a character I have on the Xbox so it might work out since dodging around seems a lot easier than on the PC version. Having a control stick to move around lets me get hit a lot less than I do on the PC.

Thanks again for the input. :drinks:
