Does damage lore work with vines and lance?

Recommended Posts

I do not know for certain. But this would be the most logical.

Damage Lore gives XX% chance for secondary effects [DoT]

I cannot see why this wouldnt hold true for CA mod Singe.

I remain, Etherian

It needs tested. Damage Lore should increase the chance of a secondary effect from an elemental damage type. If the CA has built in DOT then I don't think that Damage Lore will increase the DOT damage but may trigger additional DOTs from the CA damage.

I've played BFG seraphim with DL and the fire incidence from archangel *seems* to increase. I only had maybe 40 pts into DL so I cannot be sure but it felt like it did. It also *felt* like flaring nova was doing more weaken.

Vaclaf has reported in his mechanix threads that damage lore increases the damage and incidence of burns on deadly spikes..(see guides; temple guardian; mechanix)

I'm working on fire elf right now... Just need to adjust the loot dropping in single player so its easier to level up :(

Build I'm working on...

* 1 defensive skill yikes! Therefore all buffs modded to defense and I'll be using kiting..

* uses rph in conjunction with magic coup's high hit rate

1 Armor Lore 1 master

2 Arrant Lore 1 master

3 Concentration 7 master

4 Arrant Focus 1 master

5 CD

6 Delphic Focus 2 master (bc need defense before DL)

7 Staff Lore * 5 pts to unlock only *

8 DL

9 Delphic Lore 3 master

10 Speed Lore (if trouble hitting things) or ancient magic or Constitution/shield/Spell resist

How do I do a test?

Sacred 2 doesn't allow 'save game' and reload...

soooo

I think I need to

get DL to 74 pts...

find boss and take a lot of data on ancestral fireball (mainly) along with other combat arts damage lore... data on damage amounts and chance to proc... Maybe 40 data points per combat art and feature ancestral fireball with 100 data points since it may be easy to study....

Does anyone have other suggestions? I'm only at level 27 so far barely left high elf region. I might need to adjourn the test until closed net goes back so I can import some runes. I'm trying to modify a value in the balance to get more runes but it has not worked so far. Next test is with 1000 times the base value of the balance line.

Yes DL does work on the singe mods but it only increases the damage and duration of the fire damage of the Combat Arts, it also works on the poison damage arrows of Totem. Tested on a blank level 200 toon in niob.

You can backup the save game folder on your on your PC and then overwrite the folder with the test toon save files each time you wish to do another test. Windows 7/Vista will have them stored here:

C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2

Windows XP...Im not too sure...should be similar though.

By that Dobs means the fire DoT...

Damage Lore affects the change to proc burning/poison/weaken/slow from any source (weapon, weapon-based CA & spell), but the mastery only affects the fire/poison DoT caused by doing fire/poison damage (ie, not "built in" DoTs like on Frost Flare & Blazing Tempest).

So sounds like we already know the answer to this question... I'll still test ancestral fireball at least and see what shakes loose?

You can if you want, but you'll see that the DoT from the fireball (due to it doing fire damage & being able to proc fire DoT) is increased with DL mastery.

Though with the blank level 200 characters, it's not a particularly difficult test (with a low level fireball it won't do too much damage to the Wolves in Sloeford so you can see how much the fire DoT does fairly easily).
