I'm curious, is there still a way to play Sacred online, besides LAN?

I'm curious, is there still a way to play Sacred online, besides LAN? I thought Ascaron had closed the servers, and I haven't really found a definitive answer online (so far) would love to be able to play some multiplayer.

Man, I miss S1 something awful. I wish I hadn't deleted all my toons when I heard the news about the loss of the closed servers.

open net was the last to go and it died a sudden death when the Ascaron domains expired after the bankruptcy. think it was the same time as when the SIF had it's outage and so many urls had to be converted to sacred2.com. I do believe that was the "darkest hour" for Sacred.
