Sidious 0
Man Ive been playing EQOA for about 9 years, and finaly had to give it up. I played Oblivion for a while and really enjoyed that but it got very repititious (sorry bout spelling). My son who is 6 went to gamestop one day and brought home Sacred 2. I watched him playing and he loves it. Not much can compare to eqoa for me and Ive had a hard time enjoying other games. Man I was a pure addict lol. I dont even want to try and think about time logged on. This Sacred 2 looks like it will really grab my attention, tho I dont know if its just where im so used to eq or this game really has a steep learning curve. But im going to give it a whirl and would like to say hey to all you peeps on here. From what Ive read everyone seems very nice and helpfull. Ive got alot to learn and am really looking forward to a great adventure. I am currently playing on the 360 version. Link to comment
Shattered Rift 2
Welcome to Dark Matters, Sidious! There's quite a few pieces of advice to give to a newbie, but I'll try to keep it simple. I'd suggest starting with a throwaway character who you're willing to scrap once you've gotten a proper feel for the game. (It's pretty easy to mess up a toon's build, especially during the initial learning curve.) With some exceptions, you want to leave Combat Arts at one rune eaten apiece and boost your CAs level via +CA mods. The Inquisitor and Temple Guardian are the two hardest classes to play, and unless you go melee with them, they can be easier to mess up than the other four. There's probably a good dozen things I'm forgetting. I hope you enjoy the game. Link to comment

gasbomb129 0
Welcome, I've spent 9 months learning to play the game and still discover stuff I didn't know. I can play it no matter how tired I am, so watch those late nights, lol. I'm online with xbox also. Link to comment
Shattered Rift 2
I hope you have more fun with the Shadow Warrior than I did. He runs two melee Aspects in Death Warrior and Malevolent Champion. (It's possible to go spellcaster with Astral Lord, mind you.) And, with the exception of the Dryad's Darting Assault, I find melee to be pretty underwhelming in this game. A lot of people disagree with me about melee, of course, and if you're playing with your son (and/or others), you're bound to have a good time no matter what. Link to comment

Thanks for the info man. If you do go with the SW his natural weapon choice is hafted weapons and there are a lot of tidbits in the SW forum worth perusing to get you off to a good start.
