The Juggernaut

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I'm new to the forum and after reading lots of build guide I came up with this. The bright light hit in listening to this song:

I'll make it short and not to fancy but I might edit later on :)

Skills:

Tactic Lore

Death Warrior Focus

Armor Lore

Sword Weapons

Shield Lore

Constitution

Toughness

Spell Resistence

Combat Disipline

Damage Lore

Attributes: All to Strenght

Combat Arts:

All in the aspect modds later on...

So this is it updates will come.

Interesting indeed, instead of using RE he can take full advantage of the scalable block melee/ranged mod on shields modified by Shield Lore, and the lack of damage while using weapon & shield can be off-set by a good leveled Damage Lore, and going with pure Strength also makes good sense here to maximize the damage output since the defense on this build seems pretty solid already.

Good thinking here, Janos  and welcome to DarkMatters!

Spunky well said. Looks like you did some very good homework here Janos. Please keep us posted on how this build works out. Oh and keep in mind that the combat arts that you did not take a lore or focus in will still work and can be used to your advantage.

:viking: Wow, simple, straight forward, looks solid indeed. And thinking outside the box, I'm liking it! :viking:

Thank you guys^^

About the Combat Arts:

Demonic Blow (mainly bashing the boss heads)

-wounding, due one handed sword damage is not to high don't want to decrease more instead

a little DoT may come handy

-frailty, since the big guy is bleeding lets smash his armor

-trauma, bleeding no armor lets cut deeper in for more blood and DoT, because the

huge protection and constitution life leech doesen't feel necesarry

Scything Sweep (sweeping the xp in your pocket)

-force, more damage more dead enemy

-intent, again because he can hold up an army lets cut of some testicles aka critical

-rage, we are getting angry that they are still standing so we hit a huge one after shouting

enough

Ruinous Onslaught (the CHAAAAARGE!)

-getaway, you root me I smash your skull

-adrenaline, can't feel the pain

-adrenaline, no pain at all

Rousing Command (the WAAAAAAAGH!)

-persistence, due one handed sword we want to feel power of WAAAGH longer

-impulse, cuting as fast as lightning

-leader, the party can feel the power of WAAAGH to

Grim Resilience (comes after eating all that veggies)

-rejuvenation, if they can cut through they will be disappointed because our wounds close

quickly

-discipline, lower regen times more runes to memorize more damage to give away

-safeguard, the muscle fibers are like steel, they can stop even an arrow from 1m

Looks fine, I hope It will work well. Starting today on HC-Closed net with the name Kyltor. Hope to party later on. Ohh one more thing the expert touch it is ON.

A pure Death Warrior, something I don't see everyday. :) I also agree with the rest, the concept seems sound. While having no RE due to having no concentration, he still looks like a pretty tough shell due to shield lore, along with all the other defensive skills. And then you have points allocated to strength, while your CAs would be free to be modded with abilities to bring on the pain while reducing the pain landed on you. :) I'm a selfish guy, so I would've rather chosen surge over leader with rousing command. I definitely like to see how far you can take this build. :)

Single Aspect builds are one of the coolest challenges. It's an amazing choice and makes you think hard on how to use resources available.

Can you tell us what level you have the build to already?

Thanks for the post and build Janos, great having you here on the boards.

Hail! :paladin:

As Furian mentioned we stepped through the threshold of Gold yesterday. :viking: It was a pleasure to party through Silver mate, cheers!

The build is on Lv 55 at the moment. All points went to strenght, the skills picked in this order

1. Tactics Lore

2. Death Warrior Focus

3. Armor Lore

4. Sword Weapons

5. Shield Lore

6. Combat Descipline

7. Damage Lore

8. Constitution

9. Toughness

10. will be Spell Resistance

Death Warrior got 21 points after I pumped Sword Weapons which is at level, also Tactics Lore and Armor Lore at level. The remaining 2 points now on goes 1-1 to Death Warrior Damage Lore.

Combat arts modded in order:

1. Grim Resilence

2. Scythin Sweep

3. Demonic Blow

Starting now the Rousing Command

Altough he's a single aspect the tactics gives a chance to mod in the Malovant Champ aspect, which I found handy as a support. Fully modded:

1. Augmenting Guidon, elite-healing-flare

2. Killing Spree, control-perseverance-sway

The Frenzied Rampage got double attack-duble strike and envenom will be the gold mod, to make a nice synergy with damage lore.

Style:

Normal hunting is starightforward. Gathering as many mobs as on the map stand in a good position and Sweep. At bosses Augmenting Guidon for opening, after Rousing Command Killing Spree in combo, than Demonic and Frenzied in combo to start destroy it. Ruinous Onslaught not used at the moment but probably will be put after Rousing Killing into the combo to charge after the buffing, just needs modding first.

I'm really enjoying this build, I found thrilling to roam through Ancaria in Silver. He feels solid handles hordes of monsters easily, makes bosses on their knees praying for mercy. The true power will come out later on when masteries hit in I think. Looking forward to see it. Can't wait for the new challenges to come in harder difficuilties. Will keep you update.

Was my pleasure Janos, I enjoyed the renewed adventure and your reaction to new dangers, although you weathered through all of them with flying colors. Think the only time I saw your health drop was when we stumbled upon some T-energy pools while headed to BloodClaw. Those mutated werewolves and spiders are really tough.

Enjoy Gold and see the sights, I'm back to work now so won't get to team up again for awhile. Looks like we are doing 7 days a week again.

The day has come the warrior learned all his skills (Lv65) and heading towards his first mastery. No problems so far. The crowd controll still working and bosses die in time. :viking:

This is a great build and story Janos. You've come up with a very late-game unique way of building out this class. just seeing new ideas working so successful in a game as old as this is great to read.

After a long journey the warrior finally mastered the art of sword fighting, armour using, and tactic moves on the battlefield. He learned so much faced death many times and yet a lots of skills remain to master. :paladin:

The build is at Lv75 after a dangerous swamp grinding. Sometimes pulled to much like 20 spiders and my heart jumped into my arse, the olms and spider champs annoyed with root but after I got the gateway mod on Ruinous Onslaught was much better. The next masteries will be damage lore and death warrior focus. Bit tired of click on monster to Area of Effect and finding the right angle but needs max 2 swings to kill everyone in my sight. The champs go down in seconds with demonic frenzied combo, and bosses don't like it either :) If I have patience will take and post some pics about the stats and how it looks like. ;)

Wow, this build seems quite enjoyable. To be honest, shields aren't my cup of tea, but this build really appeals to me, perhaps because its quite pioner. However, if you use some CAs from Malevolent Champion aspect, wouldnt the focus would be better than Spell Resistance, even 1 point only?

Link to comment

Well I was thinking about Malevolent Champion focus but I use the CA-s from it for supporting boss fight and crack up the champs, and for that does the job without focus so far. But for someone like you who doesen't like shields the shield lore swappable for Malevolent Champion go with a two hander. Sacraficeing some defense for offense. Don't know though how would that effect the defensive stability of the build in plat or niob. I am using usually a two hander for bosses and had no issues so far. On the other hand with constitution mastery and the huge hit point and regen from Grim Resilience the -shield +malovent path should be alright. But again the CA-s and combos would need a rethink.
