Water Samples

Recommended Posts

I've taken the Water Samples quest in the Swamp capital. This is one of the escort quests where the quest marker is (initially) bugged, it stays on the guy following me or to that annoying water area near the Seraphim arena. Can anyone direct me as to where I should go? I need to find watering holes but I really don't know what would qualify for those.

ha, I think this was the quest that turned me off doing quests in Sacred 2 the last time I tried to get "in" to questing. I'd love to know the answer as well to this Fogjeltje

:)

I cannot speak from personal experience, because I avoid escort quests like the plague. A quick search here and at SIF turned up only a couple of posts about the quest being bugged.

I can't help with directions but can confirm this quest is definitely bugged. I know the CM patch fixed many quests but don't know if this was one of them

In fact, one of the posts on SIF that I found through google has someone mentioning something like 'thankfully I knew where to go'. ARGH! I yelled at my screen "then bloody share that info with us!!" LOL :D

Hate when that happens. All of the targets are to the west (left) of the city. Some are a bit further south of the road than others, but mostly they're near the road.

Great thanks, I'll check it out later. Usually when this happens, as soon as you find your first target, the quest marker gets back to normal. A few escort quests had this bug and in some occassions I could guess where the target was (or the target was a specific enemy in which case I just went looking) and as soon as I came near the quest marker actually already changed.

Taking the west exit I found four T-energy thingies in the swamp, I took him near all four, never did anything happen. They were pretty close to town, so maybe I had the wrong ones? But looking at the map those are the only T-energy thingies in the vicinity.

Yeah.. Those would be the ones. Did you click on the quest to make it active before going out of town?

Yes, I recall the quest marker pointing to the water south of the Seraphim arena. I even went there a second time I tried it, killed something called a hypnotoad and suddenly the quest was ticked off at completed, but not completed dialogue and no reward. It seems the swamp just doesn't like me as in the capital is another quest I can't finish (the negotiator quest...I made it to the meeting place, killed foes but can't talk to guy to finish it even though he has a !)

Ack... Now that IS weird. Exactly what version of Sacred 2 are you on again?

Ice & Blood UK with the latest patch (2.65?), not running the CM.

Hmm.. ok.. I know that sometimes Sacred 2 does weird stuff... but the stuff you've been describing - just sounds more like plain Fallen Angel than Ice and Blood.

I'm pretty sure it's Ice and Blood as I'm on the Crystal Plains (or whatever the Seraphim hunting grounds are called) right now. That and I spent a gruelling long time installing both FA, patching it so Ice and Blood would install, install that and patch that.

I've more or less given up trying that quest. There's two failed quests in my log (from the time that I hadn't figured out you can still save and load savegames in a fashion...it just takes a bit of work), one that won't finish (the negotiator), so I can probably live with one ? being left on the map.

Big thanks for trying to help though :) I was able to find the places I should go to with that guy so in my eyes I did finish the quest, even though the game tells me I didn't :)

I installed the CM patch and now the quest marker works and I was able to do it. Sadly some mistake forced me to reload. When I redid the quest I was met with a fortunate bug...the guy wouldn't follow me but I could still visit the locations :D Once I came back I had to talk to him once to get a ! above his head, then I could finish the quest.

This quest is bugged for me as well. Could someone who was able to get through it please describe where the three water holes are. I've tried exploring west of town, but have yet to be able to find the first waypoint.

This quest is bugged. It is one of those quests where you go to the right place and it gets activated by being in the right spot. Go west out the town to the end of walkway platform to find some T-energy pipe lines. When you move over to a couple of T-energy spots near water it turns on and finally the side quest indicator points to you the next 'sampling' area near another pipeline location. Now instead of pointing the sea just below Seraphim Island way up north, it is near you. Good luck though the lizard that accompanies you is annoying not following you, dies easily and goes off on tangents. Keep pressing the space bar to keep her alive.

Welcome to DarkMatters BobRuppert, and thanks for the feedback. I especially remember this bugged quest, because there was so much travel time in it, and almost threw the controller a few times at unseen assailants.

:D
