Spell, magic or elemental damage?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, a few nooby questions if I may,J

Just wondering if anyone can give me advice on what rings to wear. I've tried to balance it with one cold damage, one magic damage, and one spell damage, but is this the best option for a Mystic Stormite/Delphic Arcania build?

Also, would anyone have any tips for socketing with regards to the above?

I guess when I wear cold damage runes I don't see any added damage on the summary page. It just seems to show the weapon damage? Doe the cold damage get added to the CA damage or something?

Thanks,

D&E

Yes! you may ask away!

OK, for damage modifiers, example Damage Ice +10% = any Ice damage you already have such as Frost Flare or Glacial Thorns will be increased by 10% of the base damage (before any other modifiers.) This also works on weapons. so if you have a weapon with partial physical(Yellow) and partial Ice( light blue) the ice portion will be increased by 10%.

You can see this by doing a little experiment in Sloeford. Run out and hit a wolf and notice the yellow damage numbers. Then equip the damage ring and go hit another one. you should see a difference in the damage.

As for what rings are good for a Ice/Mystic Elf? if your on Console as your profile suggests then Opponents level for Deathblow works with spells. Deathblow deals double damage once the monsters HP falls below the threshold. example if you equip 50% Deathblow you will see double damage once the monsters HP falls below 50%.

Regen per Hit works on Console too. it only works with weapon hits, but you can cast a spell and then use weapon hits to regenerate you spell faster with RpH socketed.

I you have access to a high level character that has access to gold, platinum or Niobium you can socket Blacksmith arts for Whet=Damage. This damage is similar to the elemental damage modifiers in the rings you found, except it effects all elements including physical.

Intelligence, spell intensity, will also increase your spell damage as well.

Lastly in console you biggest threat is from close combat and mostly physical damage. so armor, chance to evade, defense value, and block chance close combat are going to help your defense a lot.

Cheers local,

So spell intensity rings would give way to ice damage rings in this instance? For overall damage output?

I will have to pop out of town and do some of my own tests as you suggest I imagine.

Cheers,
