Silverfall – Earth Awakening walkthrough(a special thanks to Brewmaster for his contributions, corrections, and feedback)

SILVERFALL – This is the city where the expansion starts. If you have the expansion as a stand-alone product, you can only start level 45 characters. Playing thru the original Silverfall campaign with a character should get you to a few levels over 45. Regardless, expect to reach level 70 or higher during the adventure. Key to minimap:

Big fat yellow dot = quest marker main quest (+ yellow pointer)

Big fat green dot = quest marker active secondary quest (+ green pointer; inactive during certain quests)

Yellow dots = neutral NPCs (also Lilitip after his quest is done etc.)

Golden/golden brown OR purple dots = merchants, skillmasters, questgivers

Purple dots = inactive companions

Blue dots = active companions, acquaintance

Red dots = enemies

Main quests

1. Royalty, majesty, and minor disturbances

Who you talk to for starting the main quest depends on your alignment. If you have a Nature alignment, head for Salma but if you’re on the Technology path look for Chalnuk. There is a delegation of Necroraiders that wants to have a chat with you. They’re to the southwest of Silverfall, but following the arrow on your map should help you to get there directly.

2. Necroraiders delegation

Head for the arrow pointing in the direction of the Necroraider party. If you went the right way, your map will change to the location of High Yaalta. As soon as you arrive in High Yaalta, you get a reception from Admiral Von Skromel. He’s the new leader of the Necroraiders, and is just taking a ‘stroll’ to check you out.

3. The Silverfall mud

You have to finish the High Yaalta Technology and Nature threat quests first to get this quest. Talk to Aquanadon in Silverfall to get his advice on how to deal with the water pollution threat. He’ll inform you that he does not yet know a solution to the water problem. Mages from the legendary lost city of Etherea may be able to help. Nobody alive knows a way to this lost city, but he does point out that you could head for Harois in the Steelight crypt to see if he might know. This quest seems to trigger Danselame’s companion quest in Guedaen.

4. Meanderings of time

You won’t get this quest from Aquanadon until the Silverfall mud quest in High Yaalta. If you’ve played thru the standard Silverfall campaign, you can easily use fast travel to return to Harois in the Steelight crypt.

4a. Save the crypt

As soon as you near the location of Harois, a commando unit of Necroraiders is around to stop your chat. They’ll try to assassinate you so that you can’t talk to Harois, but they’re not too hard to deal with. Once you talk to Harois, he’ll recall that the path to Etherea is located somewhere inside a temple in the Cannibal Jungle. Lorissa was one of his companions who ventured inside the temple with him, and she could know a path to the portal.

5. Meanwhile

You won’t get this quest until defeating all of the Earth Spirits at the end of the game. Talk to Salma if you’re on the Nature side or Chalnuk if you’re on the Technology path. You’ll get to see the final cinematic scene for the game.

6. Time travel

You won’t get this quest until the Meanwhile quest is finished. Salma or Chalnuk offers to turn back time itself so that you can go thru the adventure again.

Secondary quests

1. Heron potion

If you’re following the map, you should see Klisiere who wants you to get ten lion claws. The potion is supposed to increase the agility of the person who drinks it. Since the lion claws are along the same route as the Necroraider party, you might as well take it on.

2. The Arena of the Gods – Altar of invocation

Inniada Nojes from the Cannibal Jungle will tell you that he found a force field. Apparently there is a secret invocation about pronouncing an incantation to fight for glory and fortune. You won’t find much about the altar until you reach the Dwarven lands map.

HIGH YAALTA

Notable enemies

Flamethrower Trolls – Dangerous enemies that dish out significant fire damage. Cold attacks help reduce their threat.

Goblin snipers – You’ll have to deal with these if helping out Morfaloo Bill. They can stun you briefly with their gun shots.

Goblin tanks and Zanpers – Hunting down ten of the Goblin tanks will provide a 5% alignment shift towards Nature if you have triggered the 'act for the balance' quest.

Armored fortress – These hulking machines have fire and poison immunities along with the capability of taking a LOT of punishment. My only advice is to hit them with everything you have.

Main quests

1. Incident of war

After exchanging some dialog with the Necroraiders, a Troll tells you that the Yaalta camp is under attack by the Coal Clash Clan against the Bark Panthers. Rendezvous with Commander Churuk to obtain more details.

1a. Listening to the little people

When you meet Churuk, he tells you that he could not prevent a war breaking out between the Coal Clash Clan and the Bark Panthers. The CCC are apparently building some sort of secret weapon to attack the Bark Panthers. In case you’ve not played Silverfall, I might as well tell you that the Bark Panthers are on the side of Nature and the CCC are the Technology faction. He’s asked for reinforcements, which is where you come in to handle the situation. Churuk advises to find Meliwik in the village of Disttroy to gather more details. You’ll find the next two quests in the village of Disttroy.

1b. The secret threat made of bolts

Meliwik tells you the location of a device inside a bunker that is scourging the land. Follow your pointer, and you should make into the lair of the prototype devastator. You’ll have to take the long way to reach the devastator, but it’s pretty straightforward. Get all your buffs ready for the attack, and devastate the devastator. This thing looks a bit like the super robot in Dungeon Siege.

1c. The evil seed is spreading

After heading back from Meliwik to Churuk, you find that the Bark Panthers manipulated the situation to successfully use an invocation to make a massive bramble bush. Sigh. You’ll have to head south to Low Yaalta to deal with the bramble bush. After dealing with the bramble bush, head back to Churuk to find out that there is now a water pollution problem for Silverfall.

Secondary quests

1. Act for the balance

Icolass Huloss is here to give you a quest to hunt down ten of the Goblin tanks. Where you’re going, it’s probably a good idea to take this quest. When you finish this quest, you’ll get a few items along with an alignment change towards Nature. This is also a repeatable quest where you can choose to go after more of the tanks if you want. Each set of ten kills is a 5% alignment shift towards Nature.

DISTTROY - This village has goblins along with some quest givers.

Secondary quests

1. Defend technology

Aris Tote wants you to help out to keep the factories from being threatened. Accepting the quest gives you a 5% alignment shift towards Technology, and completing the quest gives another 5% alignment shift.

2. Help technology

Archimade wants you to eliminate ten EcoGuards. This is a quest where you will receive alignment points towards Technology. It is a repeatable quest that will let you hunt down more of the EcoGuards. Each set of ten kills is a 5% alignment shift towards Technology.

3. The rust flowers

Boliwak asks you to investigate the disappearance of his daughter Biwin. He tells you to find Zaraden in Guedaen, who has information on where Biwin can be found. After doing the quest chain of Zaraden->Biwik->Letloy, you can talk to Boliwak to convince him that his daughter is ‘dead’.

4. Dances with buffaloes

Morfaloo Bill asks you to intervene and stop Goblin Snipers from hunting his buffalo. The snipers are hiding out in a bunker. The bunker is the exact same location for the prototype devastator, so I’d do this quest along with the quest from Meliwik. The snipers are scattered towards the dead end junctions of the bunker, but you’ll likely have to visit this place more than once to complete this quest.

Material changer quest #1

Mastok the smith wants you to retrieve a hammer that will make his material conversion costs go down. Mastok’s hammer is in a slight southwesterly location. There will be a large amount of both Tech and Nature forces here, so defend yourself against any attackers. Once you get the hammer, I’d elect to head back to get your reward(fast travel is best).

LOWER YAALTA

Notable enemies

EcoGuards – You can hunt down groups of ten to get a 5% alignment shift towards Technology

Vegetable monsters – These drop lion claws for the heron potion quest from Klisiere in Silverfall.

GUEDAEN – When you reach the druid village, it’s literally a living town.

Secondary quests

1. Defense of technology

Across the bridge to the northwest of Guedaen, you'll find Davin Cicode who gives you a quest to take out a Goblin Zanper. It’s basically a fancy name for a flamethrower tank.

2. Druid for dinner

Zaraden says that he’ll give you the information on where to find Biwin only if you help to convince a jaivodents monster to leave the druid alone. Attacking the monster is the only way to deal with this situation, but it’s quite close to the druid. When you return, you’re told that the jaivodents monster did not die but was merely transformed.

3. Find the source for the water of life

Sergeant Garciak tells you that he can only use a small pond of water to assist some refugees. He wants a sample of the water so that he can analyze it. There are three Wild Laying Hens in the water that spawn multiple Pirahnas. Deal with the horde as best as you can, and return to the Sergeant once all of the Hens are dead. The Sergeant informs you the current water source is impure and that you’ll have to find Pelegrino to assist in locating a new water source.

3a. No Pelegrino, no water

He’s an Elven water diviner that was made fun of by the locals. When you find him, you can convince him that the ‘needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few’. He asks you to retrieve his divining stick from a nearby merchant.

3b. Mushroom picking

The merchant asks you to handle a skeleton horde that has sorely hurt his means of attracting customers. There are six of the skeletons, and they will likely rush you as a group. Just use all your resources for firepower to help bring down the skeletons. There are also mushrooms that will assist you in dealing with the impure water of life problem.

3c. A mushroom that filters everything

Return to Pelegrino first and then head for Sergeant Garciak. You should have this whole secondary quest chain completed. You’ll also get a few items for your efforts as a reward.

4. It grows and gets cut

Druide Poucet informs you that you have to stop the gestation of three shoots that control the roots close to the druid. You’ll have to cross a bridge north of Guedaen to head for the location of the three shoots. The shoots are inside another living dungeon. Each shoot is at a separate location inside the dungeon, so just follow your map and deal with any resistance. After handling the shoots, this seems to take care of Zaraden’s quest as well, and he’ll tell you the location of the runaway couple.

5. The runaway couple

They’re to the south of Guedaen. You’ll find Biwin, but she encourages you to find a way for her to stay with Letloy. She gives you a necklace to show to Letloy so that you can prove you talked to her. Letloy will cooperate in solution to the problem without breaking up the relationship between him and Biwik. Don’t forget to return to Boliwak in Disttroy to finish this quest sequence.

CANNIBAL JUNGLE – Welcome to Monte Cristo’s version of Diablo 2’s Flayer Forest, although the Cannibals here are only 1/10th as annoying as those irritating and pesky Flayers.

Notable enemies

Monkeys – You’ll have to handle these in order to do the M’Boo quest from Qwatermain.

Cannibals – The Invokers are the ones to watch for and target first. They’ll summon Cannibals to attack you, and the melee situation can rapidly turn into a furball.

Main quests

1. In search of Etherea

Finding the temple is the key here, and it’s not too difficult to find as long as you stay on the path. The real obstacle are the dozens of Cannibals waiting for you in the temple itself. The temple also contains various traps that you should do your best to avoid.

1a. The great holy serpent

You MUST search Lorissa’s body in the temple, and I’d advise reading the whole thing to not miss anything. After reading the journal, a point in the lower part of the temple opens up a doorway. When you enter the doorway, you’ll notice a globular portal. When you try accessing the portal, a massive snake boss will attack. This thing will take a licking and keep on ticking, so I’d recommend any massive damage attacks to reduce the time to take it down. After you kill the serpent, you can proceed to the lost city of Etherea. Do NOT leave the temple at this point! Go directly through the portal to Etherea. If you leave the temple before having triggered Etherea it will break the game. If you want to sell stuff at a merchant wait until you have reached Etherea, do not go to a merchant via the map.

Secondary quests

1. A swindle, cannibals, and regicide

Talk to Arnax in the Cannibal Jungle to start this sequence. He’s just beyond a bridge in the CJ if you came from the Guedaen side. You’ll have to buy three amphorae from him before the next part is triggered. There is a message in the third one about Qwatermain, and Arnax says to find Liroye who supplies the amphorae.

1a. Lonely elf seeks arrows

In order to get the skin of a water dragon to give to Qwatermain, you have to retrieve some arrows that will help to replenish Liroye’s infinite quiver. The arrows are lodged in a crazy werewolf nearby.

1b. Cannibal party

After handling Liroye’s werewolf problem, he’ll tell you that the Dwarf Qwatermain was captured by the Tamalcsi cannibals after investigating a legend about a burning monkey. You’ll have to fight five of the Tamalcsi in order to speak to their shaman.

1c. King for supper

Qwatermain has been imprisoned for giving away a holy relic for some Dwarf liquor. The Cannibals want to make a meal of him, so talk to Qwatermain next to find some way to save his tough hide.

1d. Monkey in the mist

Qwatermain clarifies that a monkey stole the relic and that he wants you to get it. Apparently, this M’Boo(Majin Buu from Dragonball Z?) has strange powers caused by the relic.

1e. Behram

After killing M’Boo, you’ll discover that it had a fire demon named Behram. Behram promises that he’ll get stronger if you ‘feed’ him. Special named demons like Behram and others can level, but you’re probably better to use normal ones since the leveling demons can get bugged. Also, if you use demons at all make sure that they are linked into your item of choice. One more caveat about demons is to use ones that give bonuses your item does not have. For example, Behram will provide fire resistance on armor, and fire damage on weapons so don't add Behram or other fire demons into items with fire resistance or fire damage.

2. Make the masks fall down

Less Croc is close to the steps leading into the Lost Temple. He asks you to deal with the Cannibal threat to his customer base. Following the trail circling the temple was how I got all ten of the Cannibal masks, with the Chiefs or Invokers dropping them. You may be able to get the ten masks by entering the Temple itself, but I can’t guarantee it.

3. Inniada Nojes and the lost temple

Give him a health potion to keep him from dying. It’s a very important quest for later in the game. Nojes asks you to return a tablet that will help him to find the location to a lost temple in the Cannibal Jungle.

3a. Go back and see Inniada Nojes

When you return the tablet to him from his attackers, he’ll head to Silverfall. Return there to find out the next stage.

ETHEREA – Reaching this place on the map seems to trigger off Morka’s companion quest.

Notable enemies

Giant Necroraider – Large melee unit that uses two-handed steam hammers

Necroraider Quadruped – Spider like Necroraider technology critters with visible brains in jars

Main quests

1. By fire and blood – The invasion of Etherea

As soon as you arrive, you get a second visit from Admiral Von Skromel who somehow beat you to this place. The entire city is under siege by the Necroraider forces, and you’ll have to work your way thru them to access the subsequent quest parts.

1a. The surviving mages

You’ll have to find them in this large city, and you’ll know you’ve reached the right place if you’ve made it to buildings that look like they are surrounded by a shimmering waterfall them. You can walk right thru the waterfall to reach the mages. I don’t know why the Necroraiders did not think of that.

1b. The enchanted library

You’re asked by the mage leader to correct a mishandled spell by an apprentice in the library. The library could then also be consulted to help deal with the Silverfall water problem. The library holds living furniture, living books, and some spirit creatures. Look for a stairway leading up in order to find your way down.

2. Careless with the key

If you went the right way in the library, you’ll have to fight that big energy boss you were warned about. Parry Hooter tells you the location of a statue in Etherea that is capable of transporting you to the Dwarven lands. You’ll have to succumb to the magic to complete the transport.

Secondary quests

1. Words in the air(more thanks to Brewmaster for pointing out this quest)

Papy Hooter is right over the bridge leading towards your way down to the invocation of energy. He wants his ‘precious’ document back, but the complication is that there are four pieces to the document scattered throughout the city of Etherea. The Necroraider flying creatures are the ones that were responsible for this theft. You’ll have to track down each thief individually.

1a. Public speaking

After returning all pieces of the document to Papy, he asks you to recite an incantation at an altar of the Library. You won’t have to go down the stairs at all to reach this location.

1b. Complaint

When you reach the altar, a void elemental attacks and you realize that Papy pooched reading the parchment. Head back to get the correct incantation.

1c. Without the mistakes

Papy gives an incantation that makes a lot more sense, and when you recite the incantation a tempest incarnation will fight your group.

1d. Wrath of air

After taking care of this mini-boss, you’ll receive the major demon Asman. Asman gives a bonus of air resistance to armor or air damage to weapons.

Material changer quest #2

1. Help Pier Flosofal – Out of stock

Pier asks you to find five small scales and five small gems. Unless you’ve been forging items a lot, you should easily have the necessary materials.

1a. An alchemist’s egg

After completing the previous quest, you’ll be asked to bring two perfect scales and two magic gems. Once again, this should be an easy quest to complete and it also makes Pier a material changer.

LAND OF THE GUARDIANS – These Dwarven people took a contemplation philosophy a bit too seriously and are just a bunch of ultra-relaxed folk

Notable enemies

Angry Monkeys – They have a stunning knockback attack and are important for one of the secondary quests.

Goblin pirates – The Freezers will slow down your party, which is dangerous when combined with the dual wield melee damage output of the Lieutenants

Reapers – Burrowed critters that will spring out of the ground to attack if you get too close.

Major quests

1. To rescue the old dwarf

This quest is a continuation of the library quest chain in Etherea. Melderax the Elder has been taken captive by the Goblin pirates. You’ll have to find the Dwarf inside the Goblin pirate den. Before being able to rescue Melderax, you’ll have to handle a massive mechanical octopus.

1a. The large crystal and the little key

The mind of Melderax is mushy after being tortured by the Necroraiders. He’s able to tell you that you need to find the Crystal Spirit in the Land of the Crystals. It’s in a cavern located on the Crystal Forest map to the north of the Dwarven lands.

Secondary quests

1. No feelings left

Stickzy in the Dwarven village tells you that his girlfriend Iris has disappeared. She went to fetch some Baruba tree roots and has not returned.

1a. A favor for Baruba

The Baruba tree wants you to eliminate five Angry Monkeys that have been harassing it. It promises the safe return of Iris in exchange for killing the Monkeys.

1b. The corruption of Baruba

After handling Baruba’s Angry Monkey problem, it refuses to hand over Iris without a fight(no big surprise). This is another mini-boss fight, and Baruba has a vulnerability to fire.

1c. All is well with Iris

After killing the Baruba tree, Iris will be freed and you can return to Stickzy for your reward.

2. Horror and abomination

Stickzy warns you of a nameless atrocity that the Necroraiders created. It’s located inside one of the crystal caves in the Crystal Forest.

3. A glint of death

A Troll adventurer in the Puddle cave wants you to assist him. He’ll ask you to retrieve different materials for separate portions of his quest.

3a. Some ingredients for the puddle

Give the Troll ten small gems to motivate him to share his ‘revelation’ about the puddle.

3b. Mandragora heart

The Troll now wants you to bring a Mandragora’s heart to put into the puddle. The creature will be located near the Arena of Gods.

3c. Talk to the Troll adventurer

The Troll says that your body will be the final piece to reveal the puzzle of the puddle. You’re given a dialog choice of avoiding a fight with the Troll or dueling it to death.

3d. Too great a sacrifice

I’d highly recommend getting all possible buffs ready to fight the Troll. It will deal serious amounts of melee damage that will likely take down at least one of your companions or more likely your entire party. The Troll has a large amount of immunities including ice, so I hope you have a good backup plan. I got real lucky on my third fight with the Troll getting hung up on the terrain in the cave, which left him helpless to attacks.

4. The manifestation of evil

Zrull the death demon confronts you after you kill the Troll adventurer. Compared to the Troll, the demon is a piece of cake. Its remains contain a major death demon called Ahriman.

5. Ahriman

This major death demon adds shadow damage to weapons or shadow resistance to armor.

6. The Arena of Gods

You WILL need all materials in your inventory to complete this quest sequence. If you rescued Inniada Nojes, you can recite the invocation here which brings the spirit Samanru. With the exception of the first arena stage which is free, you’ll have to give the spirit some of your materials in your inventory in order to arrange an arena fight. Stage 2 requires one large scale, stage 3 needs two sparkling gems, and stage 4 will part you with a bead of crystal mercury. The next few stages are where the monster and material challenges are more demanding. Stage 5 will probably be the one where you have to make boss runs against Nothingness back at the end of the Silverfall campaign due to its requirement of one perfect bar of steel and a magic gem. Stage 6 will ask you to hand over a bead of crystal mercury, a magic gem, a perfect scale, and a fragment of ivory. The seventh stage is repeatable and will need a piece of living wood and a strong silk to arrange the arena fight. Whether this is worth all the material requirements is up to you, but it will provide an opportunity for collecting more ultimate items as well as a big experience boost from the seventh stage. Don't forget to go to Samanru after the fights, since he'll give you an experience boost in addition to the loot of the bosses.

Material changer quest #3

1. Help Zarl Lagerfold the weaver

Zarl wants you to find fifteen hearts of the crystal being. These are obtained from the Crystal Armor creatures in the Crystal Forest. Zarl will become a material changer once you’ve completed his quest.

CRYSTAL FOREST

Notable enemies

Crystal Armor – You’ll need to find and hunt down fifteen of them for the material changer quest in the Land of the Guardians.

Necroraiders – Melee, ranged, and fast flying critters will have to be handled.

Main quests

1. Twists and turns

Inside the Land of the Crystals cavern, you’ll have to fight a very big crystal creature boss. After taking out the boss, Admiral Von Skromel mocks your plight when you trigger a trap from trying to take a small crystal. You’re left with some Necroraider forces to deal with, but it’s a manageable mob.

1a. The way to the Nexus

The Admiral tells you that he’s heading for the Cave of the Three Arches, which is located on the Earth Nexus plane.

2. Zemiad

This major demon is inside the northern cave in the Crystal Forest. It’s basically just another boss fight inside a cramped cave. Zemiad increases armor protection by 20% and weapon damage by the same amount.

LIZARD MEN TERRITORY

Notable enemies

Werecreatures – Werecrodiles, werewolves, and other were-monsters are along the way to the lizard folk village

Necroraiders – Giant Necroraiders, Necroraider Quadrupeds, ranged Necroraiders, and more of those fast flyers are lurking here.

Main quests

1. The village of the lizard-men

This is a continuation of the twists and turns quest started in the Crystal Forest. You’ll see a huge force field, and find that the entire population is responsible for keeping the field up with their magic. It’s also revealed that the lizard folk are related to the Necroraiders. You must talk to the village chief Snaarl in the lizard village to find some way to forge onward.

1a. The ends justifies the means

Snaarl tells you that the Necroraiders want him to sacrifice his son. You offer to take his place, and by going to the altar you’ll be transported to the Necroraider vessel.

1b. The Necroraiders are great hosts

As soon as you enter the vessel, you’re confronted with a massive Necroraider boss. You’ll have to make your way to the end of the Necroraider vessel to reach the transport point to the Earth Nexus.

1c. The space station

Monte Cristo’s version of the Might & Magic sci-fi endings. If you reach the end of the vessel, you’re temporarily trapped by one of the Necroraiders. You’re ‘beamed’ to the Earth Nexus after a bit of dialog exchange.

Secondary quests

1. You must save Ri’an

A medicine man in the lizard folk village tells you that Ri’an has been incapacitated. You’re told that the heart of an Ice Golem may alleviate the illness. The Ice Golem will be inside the Steelight crypt, towards the south.

1a. Vital fluid

After recovery of the heart, you’re asked to score up some of the green Necroraider fluid which means an attack on one of the Necroraider Quadrupeds.

1b. Thanks from Ri’an

The medicine man is able to help Ri’an to recover, and tells you to talk to him.

2. Hunted hunter

You’ll get this quest from Ri’an after he is completely healed. He tells you that a Giant Laying Hen was responsible for him getting harmed. You’ve dealt with them before back in Guedaen, so more fun with the Hen and its Pirahnas.

3. The Meher

Your reward for finishing off the Hen is another major demon called Meher. It will provide ice resistance to armor or ice damage for weapons.

4. Dissembler(thanks again to Brewmaster for pointing out this quest)

Von Strohouf is towards the western side of the Necroraider space station. He asks you to help save his children under watch by guards further north inside the station. When you reach the location, a trap is sprung and the 'children' attack you. Returning to Von Strohouf and sparing his life will provide you five permanent constitution points.

Material changer quest #4

1. Help Croc Mit’n

Croc tells you that another lizard person named Lep Onge killed his son, and is now threatening him and his wife. Lep is lurking just outside the lizard folk village by a cemetery.

1a. Without mercy

Dialog with Lep gives you the option to return to Croc to call him a lair. I opted to believe Croc’s word over that of Lep. When you return to Croc, he’ll offer his services as a material changer.

EARTH NEXUS - Rocks fall, everybody dies(just kidding)

Notable enemies

Admiral Von Skromel – Your final confrontation with the chief Necroraider. He does have an interesting ‘finger of death’ attack that will sweep your entire party

Earth spirit – The ‘Earth Awakening’ of the title which consists of defeating three Earth spirits: Stone, Boulder, and Rock

Main quest

1. On the edge of the abyss

Your primary goal is to stop the Admiral from awakening the Earth Spirits.

1a. The Nexus

Head for the center of the Earth Nexus, which is marked on your map and consists of multiple fights thru Necroraider forces.

1a. The end of a reign

You attack Von Skromel in the hopes of stopping the Earth Spirits from awakening, but you find out that you have to close three individual crystal arches to completely stop all of the Earth Spirits and to achieve almost final victory.

1b. The awakening of the Stone Spirit

When you close the first crystal arch, the Stone Spirit boss must be defeated. He’s the easiest of the three to handle.

1c. The breath of the Boulder Spirit

Closing the second crystal arch awakens the Boulder Spirit. His Earth attacks are guaranteed to hit and stun you no matter where you run to or attack from, so you might as well unleash everything you have on it.

1d. The fury of the Rock Spirit

When you close the third and final crystal arch, the Rock Spirit will have to be taken care of. Its attacks are almost identical to the ones of the Boulder Spirit, so the same strategy should work. When the Rock Spirit is down for the count, you’ll get the Meanwhile quest which means returning to Silverfall.

Danselame companion quest: Mercenary one day

a. Former comrades – You’ll get this quest triggered somewhere in Guedaen after talking to Aquanadon about Silverfall’s water problem. Danselame informs you that he received a message from his former friends to meet up with him again. He thinks he’ll be okay alone, but you convince him that you’ll come along in case things turn ugly.

b. Bothersome contract – The old associates want you to get them out of a contract with the Necroraiders. The only way out is to talk to the contractors themselves.

c. The trap – You can fast travel to where the Necroraiders are, but when you arrive you find out that the former comrades told the Necroraiders about you. The Necroraiders will attack, but you should be able to survive this trap. There are only four Necroraiders to handle for the trap.

d. Vengeance is a dish best served cold – The comrades reveal their motive for trying to take care of you permanently. They feel that Danselame is a traitor for assisting you in killing the Elven Prince(back in the original Silverfall campaign), and want to have your blood on their hands. Once you kill all five of Danselame’s former ‘friends’, you’ll complete this quest.

Big-hearted Morka: You won’t get this quest until finding the lost city of Etherea.

a. Lost in the sticks – Morka tells you more of her background into why she became a healer. She asks you to help her to locate Young Wil, but does not know where he is. She does tell you that a merchant should be able to help point a direction to Wil, and he’s located in the ‘heart of the bramble’ dungeon in Guedaen. Fast travel back into that place to find the merchant.

b. In the hands of the pirates

The merchant sold Young Wil into slavery to some Goblin pirates. You’ll have to deal with the Etherea city siege situation before the next stage. When you reach the Dwarven lands map, Young Wil is inside a Goblin pirate den dungeon. When you rescue Young Wil, he returns to Silverfall. There are multiple quests for the pirate den, so you’ll definitely be busy in that place. I might as well mention that the pirates have cold attacks that can be very dangerous to your party members.

Other companion quests in Earth Awakening

- TANYA: Tanya puts the pieces back together (starts in Necroraider vessel)

- DRIL: The mark of science (starts in Bunker; buggy if it starts in Heart of the bramble)

- PORTIZ: Memories, Memories (starts in Dwarf village or The Pirates' den) [brewmaster loves this quest! ]

- ALINA: The origins of Alina (starts in Etherea)

- HULART: Mind the thorns (starts in Heart of the bramble; quest buggy, e.g. sometimes Hulart's Secret Garden does not show up)

- LORD GORT: For the order of the mechanical temple (starts in Lizard-men village; sometimes the quest does not close correctly or the "chief" is gone)

When a quest starts in the "wrong" place, then it may / may not work.

Did a Google search for an Earth Awakening walkthrough and I wind up back on Darkmatters lol. Thanks for this. I played through the main campaign last year and then parked my character in Silverfall city. Getting back into it now to finish up the expansion and this was a big help in getting my bearings again.

Both this game and Silverfall are on sale until 6/2/2014 for only $2. I accidentally bought an extra copy of Earth Awakening, so I'm willing to give that copy for free.

Search Gamestop.com for "Silverfall" and you should see both.

I finally finished the expansion this year. Altogether the game was solid, not amazing, but entertaining enough. It's got some replay value with the different races, skill trees, and nature vs technology paths, but I probably won't be revisiting it for a while.
