Which defense Skill to choose?

Hello,

I'm rather new to Sacred2 and playing a Seraphim (at level 23 right now)

I'm playing a onehanded Sword + Shield celestial seraphim and still thinking which defense skills to chose besides Armor & Shield lore.

My build will propably look something like this:

Sword Weapons

Shield Lore

Armor Lore

Exalted Warrior Focus

Tactics Lore

Celestial Magic Lore

Celestial Magic Focus

Concentration

So I have 2 Slots for Defense skills left (or even only 1, if I decide to go for Speed Lore, Combat Discipline or something else)

And I'm not entirely sure which of the following to chose. My current rating is:

1. Combat Reflexes

2. Toughtness

3. Constitution

4. Spell Resistence.

In all the guides I read, most people pick Constitution, with reasons like "allowing you to survive longer without health potions" - but what do you have those health potions for? So long, it seems you get a ton of them in sacred 2. Sadly, Sacred2wiki lacks the information on the Constitution skill. How many HP and Regen does it give? I read somewhere someone had 25k hp and constitution give him only 5k more, what would be rather useless.

I'm also not sure if I need the extra armor from Toughtness, since I already have a shield. If I master Shield Lore I would also get some evasion, but Combat reflexes give you at mastery 50% evade shance and 65% evade of criticals, what seems a lot to me.

Toughness in combination with damage mitigation can be nice. specially above level 100-120 when it is possible to reach 100% damaqge mitigation with the right gear.

Spell resistance is only useful if you plan to master it, which you probably won't below niobium.

Constitution and combat reflexes can be useful with just a single point already, ...

So it is not easy to answer if not knowing which final levels you are aiming for.

Let me start by saying I have never done a sword-and-shield Seraphim, so feel free to ignore everything I have to say.

I consider Armor Lore mastery a must. Since you are doing a shield build, embrace it and master Shield Lore as well.

I see Concentration, are you planning on using Cleansing Brilliance?

On pc, potions take up precious inventory space. On the consoles, you are free to carry as many as you find (which will be A LOT!). That being said, you cannot always use potions fast enough. Constitution increases both your hp regen and total hp.

Many consider Spell Resistance mandatory for Ice and Blood, while on the consoles, I consider it a wasted skill.

Well, to be quite honest, the choice is between Toughness and Constitution.

IMO, Combat Reflexes isn't very good.... equipment can provide better evasion and the anti-critical aspect of the skill isn't truly needed. It COULD save your butt, but I wouldn't count on it for that "one in a billion" event (4 champion orcs simultaneouly landing criticals, etc...)

For a seraphim, I think maybe Constituion is the better choice. The seraphim has damage mitigation from many sources (torso, shoulders and wings and maybe shield) so having the bigger HP pool for the hard-hitters is probably the optimal pick for you.

Speed lore and toughness if you want a seraphim that has higher defense and attack values and armor values.

Constitution and toughness if you want a seraphim that with the proper gear will have a hard time dieing.

Shield lore will take care of the bonus combat reflexes offers depending on the shield used when mastered.
