Sacred 2 - Closed Net Final Going Away Party!

Recommended Posts

Late last week, this notice was posted on the Official International Sacred Forum that seemed to indicate that the Sacred 2 Closed Net servers would be permanently shut down the end of March. We at DarkMatters feel that Closed Net deserves a going away party before it passes into eternal darkness. We would like to invite you and every other past and present Sacred 2 player to join us for one last great foray into the Ancaria we have enjoyed for the past several years. This gathering will be the last full weekend before the anticipated shutdown, March 24th and 25th. Unofficial roll-call will be on Saturday at 1800 GMT (which will be 7 in the evening in continental Europe and 10 in the morning on the Pacific coast of North America). No, we will not actually be taking roll, but gogo will be there taking pictures. Try to be there for about 15 minutes or so, just so we can get the most group pics.

This party will allow players to relive the good times, reconnect with old buddies and possibly allow some newer players to earn the Group Hug achievement. Please include "DarkMatters" somewhere in the server names you create to help identify party goers.

We sincerely hope you can make it, and if you know any inactive Sacred players try to bring them along as well.

Update:

gogo has to work those days until 5:30 (GMT -5) in the afternoon, so the photo shoots will take place a little after that, on both Saturday and Sunday. If you cannot be on during either of those times, you can take your own pics. Just have everyone face the camera, hold the left ALT key to display all of the character names and use CTRL+Print Screen to do the screen capture. Best to take a couple.

The photo shoots and most of the activity will be on Ice and Blood HC, but SC and S2FA are also encouraged to come out.

And unfortunately 5am Sunday morning for anyone on the Eastern coast of Australia.

Looks like you and me will be late participants.....I probably won't be able to make it until Sunday and around 5pm my time (think it's either 2200 or 2300 gmt)

The idea came from Knuckles, all I did was type it up and clear it with gogo.

I thought about the guys in Australia, but the time zone difference was too great for me to solve, and I am sorry. Maybe one of you guys can get with gogo to see how he is going to do the pics. That way, one of you can take them and send him the pics. If you guys decide to do that, set a time and I will add it to the original post.

I'm gonna have this Tuesday Wednesday off, SChot just completely revamped my comp, so gotta reinstall sacred 2, but once that's done, I'll be set. Those dates look okay for me, but I do work weekend during day from 9 30 to 5 30. When I get home from work, I'll jump into the servers make a few posts on the forums and we'll click pix of whoever's online, and run a second session on Sunday.

:)

Blood Hunter, I had forgotten to put out some words to all the plaeyers on this topic and having so much interest in the passion of Sacred 2! Thanks for helping spread the word, lets hope all this activity can send a good notice to Deep Silver...the fans are here, alive and waiting for more goodies!

gogo,

What time zone are you in? I will edit the original post to show an approximate time for the photo shoots.

Blood Hunter,

Gold difficulty would probably be best for the photo shoot since it would allow more people to get together in the server. I figure the pics will likely be taken on Start Island, so levels are not quite as important. For those who will actually be gaming, I say just find a group you want to run with and grind away.

And so I have to finish silver in 15 days with a new character? I don't play in closed

All levels are welcome. For those players who can choose a difficulty, Gold is probably the best. If you have only Silver, then Silver it is. If you have only Niob, that is OK too.

We can get a Silver and Gold server running......Hoping we have way more than 16 show up so most likely we'll need at least 2-3 servers going anyways

This news of Deep Silver closing Closed-Net servers does not bode well for my stomach!

So many questions, with so few answers. So much unfinished business to attend.

What happens to our characters? What happens to our gear? Do they also vanish into the dark void of nothing?

Count me in as well. I am supposed to work that weekend. I will make it a point to call in sick...*cough*

I remain, :closed:

~P.S.- was also just about to post a few legendary finds in the thread. Seems pointless now...

AFAIK, when the lights go out for the last time, everything you have in Closed goes up in a puff of smoke. I already exported all my characters just to make sure I do not forget to do so later. This event will give those who are inclined an opportunity to export their characters before the end.

Like stubbie already said, the hours may not line up perfectly for us Aussies. I'll have to see how things go depending on my work roster and uni workload, but I'll definitely try to drop in.

That will be great fun to get together for that ultimate time. I'll be there most likely on Saturday. I just hope the game won't freeze or crash every 45 minutes.

I never thought this day would come......

hoped for Sacred 3 before Closed Net shut down. I'll watch the thread as we get closer to see what time Zone I line up with. Schot needs to put a Count down clock on the homepage for all to see.

cheers

Awesome idea! I didn't think about the clock. Let's hope he sees these posts soon.

Great to see you online again. Once I came back from my own very long unwelcomed break, I just assumed naturally you would still be around. Also Furian? We used to grind like madmen for hours on end.

Case in point, one should not assume. My fault!

I remain, :bye:

Any word on the countdown clock? No pressure added upon our healing warrior, Schot.

Just curious.

I remain, :D
