In case anyone wonders why Lujate specified Option 2, we did a test run with option 1, and we failed horribly. We later found out that Option 1 is the toughest one.

 

I plan on being able to participate in the run. I thought characters abusolutely had to complete the Story Mode in order to be eligible for the Explorable Mode.

I do not think we ever wiped on Option 1, but we kept failing the first major task. I read up on the options in the wiki (check out the link in the OP) and #2 seems like our best bet.

 

AFAIK, as long as the person who first enters the dungeon has unlocked Explorable, the entire group can enter.

A player who has not completed story mode of a particular dungeon may still enter the explorable mode of that dungeon. This can be done whereby a party member who has completed the story mode enters the dungeon and selects explorable mode. All players in the party are then prompted to join their party in explorable mode.

That should give us 2 &1/4 hours. If we cannot finish in that amount of time, I think it is unlikely we ever would.

This path appears to be bugged. We made it to the Flooded Temple, but the event would not spawn. We even went back and killed every mob in the dungeon.

We had a tough time at the Lieutenant (we wiped a few times), but just when things started to get better, the run got bugged. I'm a bit disappointed but we still have plenty of time to do this run on another day.
