Instances worked well in GW1, as it does in the dungeons in GW2. Didn't have the total cluster that Lost Shores turned out to be. For somethings an instance is great, however I like the normal wide open world for most things.

 

Since this instance is for a party of five, it looks like a new Xmas dungeon to me.

The instances are probably to prevent the slide show that many players experienced during Lost Shores.

 

As per ANet's usual MO, it is sparse on details.
