claudius 104
I've had salsa with ghost peppers and it is the hottest stuff I ever had All other 'hot' 'spicy' dishes in Michigan ie midwest don't taste hot to me. Now I can eat chips with a tiny amount of salsa and burn the 'bejeezes' out of me. I would never want to deal with a whole pepper 1 Link to comment
gogoblender 3,038
wow, this topic brings heartburn to me now lol. I think my days of daring and dancing with the peppers has led to too much of a sore stomach, course though, when the urge hits, you gotta have it hot. Glad you made it back to us alive Claudius with the story! gogo Link to comment
chattius 2,512
Now to something totally different.... What is best after you accidently ate too hot chili? My vote is for Zwieback with Mascarpone smeared on it. The Zwieback somehow grinds the chili from the mouth cells while the chili has more affinity to the fat in the Mascarpone than to the spittle. Also the sugar from the Zwieback helps a bit in softening the chili burn. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zwieback http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mascarpone 1 Link to comment
gogoblender 3,038
That's cool science. lol though I don't usually have marscarpone lying around the place, for fear of eating it all gogo Link to comment
chattius 2,512
Well if you have guests and serve hot chili based stuff it is good to be prepared. With kids we have always Zwieback at the house and Mascarpone for a Tiramisu every 2 weeks is in the house too. Link to comment
