Sacredwiki German Translation Overview

Recommended Posts

Some I don't see breakpoints on the concentration page.

A mark at program code to force a stop: break point - Haltemarke

A point at which a curve gets more flat like the experience curve at 125/150/175: breaking-point = Knickpunkt.

At modifying points: 9 for one full CA modified,...27? for 2, I would choose magic numbers- magische Zahlen

Oops, I searched in the text and not in the headlines: Try Tabellenwerte

You are welcome to answer me in german ^^

Thanks for that! I'll change it.

I think the english wiki uses breaking points because of values like:

149 skill is 61.9%

150 skill is 61.9% too

Some people think that the point at 150 would be wasted. I think the game uses more digits intern and just rounds for display.

If the others are right: breaking points, magische Zahlen

If I am right Tabellenwerte

Very nice haGrOck! I'm curious about something. Do you use google translate to start with? I know that google translate isn't perfect but I'm just wondering if google translate can shortcut the process of translating. At least just a little bit. Can you use google to translate english to german and then correct the bad parts?

To be honest, I would like to avoid using Google Translator, I think it would confuse me. ;) I translate all sentence for sentence and I'm good with that. :)

ok ich nehm magische Zahlen, klingt iwi besser als Tabellenwerte ^^

"Tabellenwerte" also as "magische Zahlen" (?) I would not recommend to use for translate breakpoints. How about "Punktegrenze" or "Punktebreich", "Haltemarke" (as you sayed, Chattius) would also have a better meaning than "Tabellenwerte" or "magische Zahlen". :)

The best one I think is "Punkteabschnitts-Übergang" or "Punkteabschnitts-Grenzwert(e)". ;) Hope I could help you out. :)

Ah and sorry for the double post, my fault! :/

If you write in German, please write in English also.

Wenn Sie in Deutsch zu schreiben, schreiben Sie bitte in Englisch auch. hi.gif

My english suxx and most of the time I need to ask my questions again because you guys didn't know what I meant -.-

@haGrOck ich halte es nicht für sinnvoll hier das Wort genau zu übersetzen, da es meiner Meinung nach vom Sinn nicht passt. Da gefällt mir "magische Zahlen" besser :) Ich bin aber immer offen für andere Vorschläge!

I'd like "magische Zahlen" better for some reasons.

I'm sorry to tell, but in the next time I won't be able to translate or proofread that much, because I (and that's the reason why I'm also happy at the same time) did get a place to attend an evening highschool. I'm very excited and today is my first day there, so I beg your pardon for being kinda slow with translating. ;)

Btw: I prefer this 2 sites for translations at the moment:

http://www.dict.cc/

http://de.pons.eu/

The old translated stuff is from me. I had stopped because well, the Wiki was down. I also sent gogo a message months ago about a few pages not being able to be translated, due to the language addon being /de and some articles using a / already in their article name, such as Combat_Kick/Vampiress. If you add a /de, then the engine will take "/Vampiress/de" as language code :(

Tbd: all articles with a / in it need to be changed to something without.

To the German translators. I'm working with Across PE (not the best CAT tool, but it's free). If you need my database records, pm me and I'll do an export as soon as I get back home this weekend.

P.S.: I took the freedom to make some minor changes to http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred:Character_Class/de

P.P.S.: Dictionaries for translating are also dict.leo.org and proz.com. Most of the time it's just starting the game and checking the name, though ;) That's also the reason why I made my own Sacred dictionary for translating. Makes work much faster.

Liloe, welcome back!

it took some time, but SChot was able to get the wiki back up and going and even refitted it with a new engin! :superman:

Thanks for posting about your database information for the German Translators Team!

:)

Very nice Liloe. How would you like to fix the naming problem? I have a couple of ideas but I'm wondering how you would like to fix it. polling.gif

Very nice work so far! Can't find Sacred:Hard_Hit/Wood_Elf/de did you changed that yet?

Added all pages to the list on page 1 :)

€dit: could you please change the titles of the pages as well?

you can use the following code to do so:

{{DISPLAYTITLE:Sacred:titel}}

examples are here:

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred:Multiple_Shot/de

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred:Penetrating_Arrow/de

or

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred:Spider_Arrow/de

looks much better, does it? ;)

€dit 2: found it on http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5?title=Sacred:Hard_Hit/Wood_Elf/de&uselang=de ...

what about title like "Sacred:Hard Hit (Wood Elf)/de" ? that should work!

For the Hard Hit pages and other shared name combat arts... Do we want to merge them all into one page? Or should we move each one into a new naming scheme like Hard Hit - Wood Elf? This would fix the language links problem.

Well I have not that much informations about sacred 1 but if you use the search function of the wiki to find hard hit you will find the combat art for the Seraphim (http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Hard_Hit).

Tbh I don't care much about how to solve that exactly. Use () or - or nothing between.

I fact, I don't have a Sacred 1 client to check if the combat arts are the same ingame, I can't exactly tell you 'yes' or 'no'.

Let's see what Liloe tell us about that. :)
