Popular Post Hooyaah 2,800
"Dear Journal, I stand in the domicile of Sloeford's Village Elder; it is one of size and opulence and filled with art, provisions, wine, and salubrious food and even meat! I cannot help but wonder for what purpose the jewels he gave me are in all verity intended. Can they truly be to pay the village taxes? The denizens of this burg have difficulty providing for their daily meals and most have not consumed the flesh of domesticated farm animals in ages. Yet, I feel strangely compelled to continue the path set before me. For, I must find what purpose it is that I have been called to fulfill and I sense that it, in all verity, is something much more important than doing the bidding of this suspicious nobleman. Forsooth, I shall press on, hence!" 2 Link to comment
Hooyaah 2,800
"Dear Journal, I had recovered the small sack of gems and I was taking them to the Senate Chambers to locate Senator Gracchus when I was stopped by a member of the Senate Guard. He actually whispered, 'You can't bribe someone right out in the open.' Then, he sent me to the disgusting tavern and said that he would send 'Old Man Gracchus around to collect the money'." "I followed then him onto the floor of the Senate and amazingly he never noticed my presence as he whispered something to Senator Timorean and left. Apparently, Senator Gracchus was not present and if Senator Timorean is in on this tax skimming scheme as well then the corruption is much worse than I had previously imagined. I will go now to the tavern and see what shady character may meet me there. I have a feeling that this story is about to get quite a bit more interesting." 1 Link to comment

I met a very interesting man named Liosilath who is also aware of the rife corruption within the government in Thylysium. He offered a very wise suggestion and that is to deliver the jewels to the teachers who are building a new campus where the children here will be properly educated. I certainly enjoy supporting the building of a school." 2 Link to comment

I entered a local establishment in search of drink, for parched indeed was my throat and dry was my tongue. I became amused by the sudden sound of song." "Forsooth, for it was a gentleman bard, and he didst entertain me, indeed and at length." "Hark well verily, dear journal, my deeds must be known already among these humans and they surely must hold me in esteemed repute. For the songs he shared spoke of my deeds of courage, although they sounded to me somewhat embellished." "When he had completed his performance he bowed to me warmly and furthermore he didst refuse the gold that I offered him. He explained that he was merely practicing for the Festival of Fall that began this eve and would continue on the morrow and one week hence. He explained further that he had desired only to practice in my presence, hoping that his act is one of which I would approve. I bid my endorsement to him before leaving and threw gold coin on the bar-stand, nevertheless." "Verily, dear journal, I must admit that my opinions in regard to humans is ever changing, as many of them possess some unexpected and redeeming qualities. They are not all filthy, scheming, petty, lazy wretches suited but to the gallows, prison, or remanded as slaves. I wonder what more of them I shall learn, for all that I was taught of them was uttered from the mouths of my own ilk. I shall remain observant and ever diligent to further educate myself with the truth, what ever it be and wherever I find it." 4 Link to comment

It is rare indeed that an alchemist is also a student of or a doctor of medicine. Perhaps he is experimenting with his compounds and developing them toward the goal of treating injuries an illnesses. If he is successful that would truly mean a better life for everyone." 4 Link to comment
Flix 5,116
Do you have the elite textures enabled? I LOVE looking at all the little props and stuff they placed around the world, especially with hq textures. There's so much detail and just... stuff they hand placed all over the world. I had been using the mod until I noted a few problems with it, most notably with the High Elf's mutation garment. At night, the lighting does not illuminate properly on her complete set of armor. All of the details across the virtual world really help in the suspension of disbelief, bringing to life the alternate reality that is Ancaria. Link to comment

It's amazing to see all of the extreme details. For instance the wild boars even have bristly skins. It doth verily blow my mind as well, Sir Flix of Modimus Primus. "I don't believe that either this little girl or this soldier have ever seen a Hippocampus before, except perhaps in colorful illustrations. I am happy therefore to allow them to gaze at their heart's content before I move on. 2 Link to comment

If I may ask, how should one install the mods and have the Elite Textures show up without issue? I currently use Enhanced Spell Mods, Items Mods 1.2a Hotfix, Reduced Fog and Sacred 2 undressed Mod that I believe was updated for Enhanced Spell Mods use. I didn't know if you install things out of order, Elite textures won't show properly/correctly. Link to comment

I believe Hooyaah is mistaking the official "Elite Textures" I mentioned with Wardust's Serious Textures, a fan mod. This is evidenced by his mention of "bristly boars" which is a feature of Wardust's mod. The only fan mod the official Elite Textures will conflict with is Diablo 2 Fallen, and there are special instructions to make them work together. Link to comment

Flix 5,116
Hmm Flix, can you point me to the detailed instructions to use Elite textures with D2F please, can't find them on the different threads. Thanks. It's right there at the top of the main post. I wanted to ask, where do you think I should put such information so that people see it? I put information about the fonts there as well but people still ignore it and then talk about the text being invisible. Is it too many words to read all at once there? How would you post such information? I'm open to any suggestions about formatting. Link to comment

desm 329
Thanks, I totally overflew these 2 lines even if I actually saw them at least once because I've well installed the fonts...still wondering how I could have missed them. For me, for the main thread, they should go right after 'Item Mod 1.2a and Reduced Fog Mod integrated' and before 'Rewrites for character class quests (in progress, Druid quest is partially complete)' and for the other thread, make 'Elite Texture Pack' written in bold I'm still a little bit confused with the order of install: for example, personnaly, I have installed in this order, Elite textute pack, then CM patch, and then D2F mod. Is your manip still valid? Or should I uninstall all and install CM patch, then D2F mod and finally Elite texture pack? (and then make the manip). Thank you very much, sorry for the annoyance. Ill never forget that post on the SIF when the pink bunny costume first appeared on a player in MP and he complained about it... Ascaron of course being who they are (loved this!) only then made public that the pink bunny costume only happened during cheats...which of course opened up a Pandora's box of discussion... ah, the olden days gogo 2 Link to comment
