Popular Post gogoblender 3,068
"Hello, everyone, it is once again time for Travel and Places in Ancaria and I am your hostess, Miluiel. Today we are visiting the Thylisium Senate. At thirty meters in height (not including the spire at the top) it is the tallest building in Thylysium." It serves, of course, as the center of activity for all of the sitting Senators. Legislation is debated and voted on (when the Senators are not in recess). It is therefore, usually devoid of much activity, if you know what I mean. "It is a very impressive structure with observation walkways at dome level and above and its beautiful domed top glistens in the sun on bright days. It is one of the most beautiful structures in Thylysium. Now, let's take a look inside!" "You can see how massive it is on the inside and there is enough room inside for the Senators to legislate more trouble than Tyr Lysia can withstand. Senator Palentine is here today but he asked not to be interviewed (not that I am surprised). However, I am delighted that he has allowed me to stand in the podium." "Ahem... fellow Senators, I am here today to propose new legislation that would lower a Senator's annual compensation by ten percent and earmark all of the resulting funds to the revitalization, restoration, and repair of the poor section of Thylysium. A portion of these proceeds would also be used to feed the poor." "Okay, just kidding." "So dear audience, that's all we have time for in this episode. Until next time, this has been "Travels And Places In Ancaria," with your bubbly hostess, Miluiel." hmmm, lol that senate interior looks familliar!! gogo 2 Link to comment

Popular Post Hooyaah 2,816
I believe that I have discovered yet another Easter Egg! Priestess Lerana, is the quest giver for the quest Rivals. Not dressed so much as a priestess as she is a pros..., well never mind, she may be found nevertheless, near the northernmost Rune Master in Thylysium. She parallels High Priestess Laurena of Warcraft who is a high-ranking member of The Church of Holy Light. A level 60 human priestess, Laurena is charged in the game with training would-be priests in the human city of Stormwind. 2 Link to comment

Todd McFarlane is an artist famed for his creations for Marvel Comics and its heroes, perhaps most notably Captain America. Is this yet another Easter Egg? Ahhh, I see.. Captain Mcfarlan, Captain America... maybe there's possibility of making a small note of this as being a similarity and being a possible Easter Egg in this page here which is a catch all? http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Assorted_Eggs I wish there was at least one one more reference to make it a stronger connection for an egg...but the similarity is good enough imo for at least a note ? Good catch Hooyaah gogo Link to comment
Popular Post Flix 5,116
Sounds pretty weak to me. Todd McFarlane is best known for his creation of the comic Spawn, second best known for illustrating Spider Man in the 90's. AFAIK he's never drawn any Captain America comics. It is conceivable that they'd put a McFarlane easter egg in the game, since the Seraphim herself is essentially a copy of McFarlane's angel characters from the Spawn comics. But I don't see this pirate as having any connection. To be frank, I'm kind of surprised they got away with copying Spawn so closely. 3 Link to comment
Popular Post gogoblender 3,068
Ahh, that's it then I was following mcfarlane for spiderman, I get now why it felt like a weaker egg as it was spawn and spidey as you post that he was famous for I remember someone a while back actually writing about how close the characters seraphim and span's creation are... the pix you just put up are a virtual rip off@! gogo 2 Link to comment
Popular Post Hooyaah 2,816
I recall having seen some posters of Todd McFarlane's work and one was this, a cover for a crossover with Captain America in a Spider Man issue. I should not have assumed that he was so well know for rendering Captain America. It's a good thing that we have experts like Flix around who really know their stuff. Nevertheless, I believe that there may be a few true Eggs lying about. If I find any that are suspect I'll run them by for a look-see here first. It is remarkable how closely the Sacred 2 Seraphim resembles her "sister," Spawn. It is then fitting that there may be found this quote on a grave in the game: It is one attributed to Albert Einstein: "The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources." I believe that Flix just blew their cover. 3 Link to comment

I have at last discovered the legendary pirate cave; it is large enough for them to sail entire vessels within its confines and dock them. The pirates have even constructed a tavern that they named 'The Gallows;' it must be where they like to 'hang out.' Additionally, I have also found their treasure chamber full of valuables and weapons. Now that their hideout has been discovered it will make it much more difficult to evade capture and punishment for their crimes. However, I have not decided whether I will inform the officials. Either way, I had better watch my back, for if they learn what I know they will want to silence me and if I tell anyone they will tirelessly seek vengeance." 3 Link to comment

Popular Post Flix 5,116
I've always had a thing for witches. So when I saw one creeping around Artamark's Gate I decided to follow her around a bit and see what she was up to. There she is, looking lovely and mysterious. And a little suspicious. Picking berries perhaps? I don't know her name, she's never been involved in any of my quests around these parts. Just an anonymous witch. Let's see where she goes... She turns the corner and goes right into the house near where she was standing. This is quite a nice house for a witch! And right in the middle of town... She's busy brewing up something on the stove, so let's look around. Oh yes, this is definitely a witch's house. Look at all this occult paraphernalia. I love all these little details. So many objects. Talismans, artifacts, bags of powder, jars of liquid. The hourglass dripping grain after grain of sand. Star maps, transmutation circles, and even shruken heads. Looks like we have an astrologist, alchemist, and cabalist all rolled into one. This is a big house, let's take a look upstairs... The ink has barely dried on this study of spells on the desk. Anatomy charts detailing human and orc physiology. A deck of tarot cards on the table. Wait, there's someone else here! Who is this standing in a pentagram before an altar? The altar holds a chalice, a knife, a shallow bowl, and an arcane grimoire. Why, it's Mayor Walenos! This is the Mayor's house! Of course, that cranky old lighthouse keeper out on Artamark's Splinters had asked me to deliver his resignation letter to the mayor. Well, no time like the present... ...What kind of woman have you taken up with here, Mayor? You're quite clearly up to your ears in some pretty serious witchcraft. Oh well, none of my business. By the way, the lighthouse keeper is quitting. Here's his notice. Yes, apparently you didn't pay him enough to stay out there on those miserable, fire elemental infested rocks. Let's head back downstairs and see what our witch has brewed up. She seems to have finished her concoction and given it a few extra taste tests. It appears that her witches' brew or moonshine or whatever it was, was a big success. She likes it! Whoa. She REALLY likes it. She's over the moon on this stuff. Let's give her and the Mayor some privacy and leave them to their business. On my way out I trip on a big skull on the floor and almost knock over some clay pots. Crazy witches... I wonder when I'll meet another one... 4 Link to comment
gogoblender 3,068
I LOVE THIS I love witches too...is this an actual quest in the game, or its just a character running silently in the game that just lives in Ancaria? I'd always wanted wanted there to be "secret" stories like this if so. Wonderful... and great work with the narrative...this has pushed its way to the top as my favorite morning read. gogo 1 Link to comment

Wonderful... and great work with the narrative...this has pushed its way to the top as my favorite morning read. gogo This is pretty much a verbatim retelling of my experience yesterday. There really is a witch that hangs out in Artamark's Gate. She really does live in that house. I followed her in and stumbled on the Mayor upstairs, and that's when I remembered the quest called "The Lighthouse Keeper." The quest is simple as can be: deliver a resignation letter. The Mayor just says, "Oh well, we'll hire a new lighthouse keeper." Quest over. I've been in that house when running the quest probably half a dozen times. I just never noticed before that his wife or live-in girlfriend was a witch who had packed the house full of witchy stuff. 3 Link to comment
Popular Post Hooyaah 2,816
"Dear Journal, beyond Libi's Pratfall I discovered "Something Wonderful." It is the place where I was given the quest to contact all of the Ascaron employees who are scattered throughout Ancaria so that I may notify them to gather together here once again. However, before I could enter here I had to located "the switch" which I found hidden underground in the deep recesses of the jungle; there I encountered fierce Garema warriors and bloodthirsty jungle cats making my journey most treacherous indeed. Standing guard at the entrance of this place of the epic office quest was a particularly nasty hydra which I was compelled to slay in short order, for I did not wish to taste the sting of this vile three-headed beast." 3 Link to comment

He warned me, 'and watch out, for there is a nasty pirate who has been skulking about in the area after dark. Yet fear not, for I will settle your account upon your return.' So, I replied, "Do not worry on my account dear chef, for after all it is only a buccaneer.'" 3 Link to comment
