Sacred Underworld Starter's Guide for Lan/SP

Recommended Posts

When playing Sacred, Plus and Underworld MP, I developed a "starters sequence" I ran with all my chars in a 4 player server. A little while ago I gave Sacred Gold as a present to a niece and wondered if that "starters sequence" worked for a LAN connection as well.

Turned out it did, however you need to take two extra steps to get that char working in SP.

So......

Here's what to do:

1) Create a char in SP and export it immediately.

2) Start a LAN-game, import your exported char at a server you create for your own. When that's done, start the game.
You now end up at the Starter's Island.

3) At the island, go to the tower, enter it and enter the hatch to the "cellar". Once you're in the "cellar", take the island portal to go to Mascarel and do the sneaking around quest there, once finished, take the portal back to the island.
The quest doesn't move you out of Mascarel, so there's no fighting involved and the portal of Mascarel is close to the starting and finishing point of the quest.

4) take the tower portal to go to Braverock and do the "Snow Hare" and "Axe of Galadius" Quests. After that, return to the island using the portal.

The advantage of these three quests is that they involve no fighting, are within city walls, so no baddies around either, the drops are XP, runes, gold and items; all good enough to get you to level 3-4.

One "might" do the "Brave-mart" quest as well, however about 50% of the time there's a mage or some other villains near the bridge. Considering their level is around level 23, they're able to do one-hit-kill's. If there're none there, finish the quest. If there are, abandon the quest, take the portal and return to the island.

Another good thing to keep in mind is that Braverock is a good place to loot, as long as you don't cross the river to the poor's quarter or exit the city to loot outside the walls.

5) Go to Bellevue from the island, take the Blacksmith, Messenger, Burning Hatred and Paybook quest. Don't enter Bellevue by using the bridge, but instead take the small portal to the plateau. Move to the monastery, do the 'tangle weed' quest there, kill the robbers and the mage, go to the stone circle, kill the goblins and wolf and talk to the smith. From there, go west to complete the "blacksmith quest".
Instead of returning to Bellevue, enter the cave for the "abducted" quest, complete it, leave the cave, go to Silvercreek and deliver the message.
Now go back, accept the "absent minded sister" and "warbear" quests, complete the sister-quest, and move on to the bridge, killing the rest of the goblins you encounter.
Once inside the city, pick up the paybook, talk to Michel the smith, cross the small wooden bridge to do the "arrogarn the forest ranger" and "sheepless in Bellevue" quests, complete those, pick up the "Wolves Quest", complete that one too, move to the cemetary to kill the bear and the 4 undead you can rise from the several graves, move on to rescue the Seraphim and move back into town over the large grassy fields north of the old mansion. Now complete the "paybook" & "Burning Hatred" quests, talk to lady Lintari again for the extra Messenger XP, go back to the southern fields to "discover" the "lost boy", kill the witch, accept and complete the "angling without bait" quests and talk to the dude giving you the "bear" quest.
By that time all kills and completed quests are enough to give you a load of runes, about 15K in gold and items; most of the time including one set piece.
Plus you're about level 7 when you enter Silvercreek for the second time.

When you got all of this done, export your char again. You can now end your LAN-game and start a SP game, in which you import your newly created char. However, instead of doing the Bronze campaign, you can now start in Silver, making reaching the other levels a bit easier.

Or you can continue in your LAN-game and level your char in there. Just keep in mind you need to export your char before quitting the game; otherwise the progress you made is lost.
