Jimboboulett 2
Not really a bug, but more like a new problem I'm having after playing about an hour. The game is running fine and all when suddently the framerate drops from 60-70 fps to something like 1 fps usually causing my death because when that happens I'm always in a battle and monsters and health bar and movement and healing and spells all lag in an insane mess. When I do survive to a safe place, it doesn't stop the lag however long I wait; I have to exit to the main menu and go back to the game. I'm asking in case someone else know what the problem is before I start tearing everything apart since I'm not motivated to start such a quest just now. I installed sacred 2 gold with the latest community patch and moony's challenge mod, nothing imported, fresh characters and stuff (the first 10 levels are incredibly difficult...) All options are to the max with physix on, I edited the configuration file to limit avaliable memory to 2/3. That setup worked perfectly fine for hours with sacred 2 gold no community patch no mod. Is it possible that the community patch or the mod eventually overload that limit? I noticed a few things: It happens while raging nimbus is on, but that may just be a coincidence, or a catalyst. At some point the game decided to take 5 more seconds to load (black screen before getting to the menu, it does it whathever there is a save or not), but If I remember well, the slowdown hapenned before that, still, the game may be corrupt and I may have to reinstall. My graphic nvidia card sometimes goes bunk; this never hapenned with any other game, but If exit sacred 2 and open my drivers, they sometimes don't respond wathever I do; I have to restart the computer. It changes nothing to anything though; all games work perfectly fine including sacred 2. Still, I may have to update my drivers again (like every few weeks...). Nothing else unusual, any help is appreciated. Link to comment
DaveO 88
Turn off Physix. It's seriously unoptimized for any system. It may work decently with the Greatest System Ever Built, but you'll eventually run into lag with Physix enables. 1 Link to comment
Silver_fox 397
Like Dave said, try turning off PhysX. If it does not help, then the source of your problems is probably the SweetFX upgrade that comes with the latest Community Patch (with v140, not sure if they kept it in the hotfix). Many people with less powerful systems experienced framerate drop after they installed the last CM. There is a way to cut this graphics modification out of the game without uninstalling CM, so if turning the PhysX off won't help, you ought to try it. Thanks for your suggestions, I tried disabling physix to no avail, maybe that's what's causing the graphic card problem, but since I have yet to see a problem with it in the game then I enabled it back. What I'm talking about is not a lower framerate all game long, I'm talking about a sudden drop from 60 fps to 1 fps after around 1 hour of gaming. And what I just found out is that teleporting is the only thing, except exiting, that will stop it. So the question is; what does teleporting do to stop the problem? Maybe it reset some memory element like monster spawning or something similar, then it would be a matter of finding what is the associated memory parameter I should increase to, if not stop it, at least push it back. There are 6 memory parameters in options.txt, any idea? Link to comment

Ok, you were absolutely right, there are 2 things related to physix in the config file, and it seems I disabled the wrong one. After disabling both, I've been running the game fine for days. I even raised the memory almost to its original values without problem. Thank you. 2 Link to comment
