Flix 5,116
It's a very poor name in English. It sounds like a word a 4-year old would use. I've been hoping it was just a placeholder name. Link to comment
Ulfgeir 14
Anyone else have some ideas for names we could toss out there? Maybe the devs will take notice and poll the community for their collective opinion. I came up with a couple more possibilities. UNYIELDING SOVEREIGN LEGACY 1 Link to comment
Popular Post Flix 5,116
A new name might help reinvigorate the somewhat inauspicious start of the project. The "un" might not have a place in the name at all. UnSacred and Unbended just sound negative, the first for suggesting a reaction against Sacred 3, the second for being a reaction against being made to remove the "Sacred" from the name. Better to define the game in terms of what it is, rather than what it is not. Runic games didn't make "UnDiablo," they made Torchlight, Piranha Bytes didn't make "UnGothic," they made Risen. And yet both of these new game series ended up appealing to the core fanbase as much or more than the "real" sequels in these franchises, because they delivered the goods. 3 Link to comment
Ulfgeir 14
I agree, "Un" does imply a sort of negativity. Torchlight and Risen are good examples of similar projects being done successfully. Link to comment
SX255 630
"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" But, there is nothing wrong in searching for a better name to it ...and failing. They could call it "Ultra North Ballad of Electric Nitro Dragons Erecting Doom" and it would not change a thing, as they still need an actual game to go with it. Link to comment
Flix 5,116
It could help morale of the developers and the fans to have a meaningful kickass name, which could lead to who knows what kind of good things. Having a grumpy weird name won't help much. 1 Link to comment

Popular Post Thorin Oakshield 260
Funny.Deep Silver "feeds" us with trailers which are basicly the same combat video's over and over again, while the orriginal Sacred Dev's have shown us already more about the game they're develloping. And that's while they even don't have the required finances to complete the game. Popular Post Silver_fox 397
The best thing about the map is the news article about it, which states that it's just the first fragment of the world. Considering the not-framed edges of the map, it's going to be the top-right corner, so the actual map planned for the world should be at least four times bigger. That gives some hope of seeing a game with the world similar in size to at least Sacred 1. And this map shows quite a few familiar names, so people from the old Sacred fanbase try to support the new project. I hope that the devs would really deliver what they aim for and release the Unbended game. Edited May 28, 2014 by Silver_fox 4 Link to comment
Popular Post Dobster 39
Nice little update, although it's a shame to not have an English forum to discuss the game. I guess I will just be patient as the devs are obviously busy making the game . The graveyards are so cool and I found my grave . Not sure if I should change my name or not though, it seems to have used my email account name. Anyone any good at coming up with grave inscriptions? 2 Link to comment
Ulfgeir 14
Very cool. I like the look of the map so far, and it's always good news to hear progress being made. I really hope this project is a success. 1 Link to comment
Ulfgeir 14
Has anyone heard if a console release is being spoken of as a possibility? Maybe as an eventual stretch funding goal? I bought Sacred 1 on PC, Sacred 2 on PC two different times, then Sacred 2 on Xbox 360 two different times, and once on PS3. I'd love to see this new game come to the PS4, even if only as a digital download. I've heard they offer some great self-publishing options these days for independent game developers. Link to comment
Steerpike1 53
I don't think we should push our luck. I think promising a console release, and then delivering one, was part of the reason Ascaron went to the wall. Even BioWare generally left the console version of the game to someone else back when they were independent - they didn't try to do the thing themselves. Alright, the PS4 is more like a PC than the PS3 ever was, but let's not ask too much of the guys - maybe a console port could be done a bit later. 1 Link to comment
SX255 630
I agree with Steerpilke If there will be such a high demand for console release, they could port it with the help of the fans and such. Link to comment
Popular Post Ulfgeir 14
I've noticed some MAJOR updates over at the Unbended website. They've done a massive graphical redesign, added two additional character classes, listed the team members working on the project, added a new 5 Euro donation option, and a bunch of other very welcome additions. Check it out, it looks beautiful. Edited June 3, 2014 by Ulfgeir 2 Link to comment
Popular Post SX255 630
Thank you Ulfgeir.FINALLY they fixed the 5 euro button. The PC selection has been expanded with the Blademaster (who seams to double as a mobile blacksmith) and Crystal Mage (who crafts with gems). So now we have the Thief, Knight and Wizard equivalents. And it seams we have 3 more classes to go. Want to try and guess what they will be? Mine would be "at least one of them is a ranged weapons specialist". 2 Link to comment
Ulfgeir 14
In Sacred 2, they seemed to have a male and female representative for each of the three basic archetypes. So the Shadow Warrior (my personal fave) and Seraphim were the melee/warrior experts. The Dryad and Temple Guardian were the ranged experts. And the High Elf and Inquisitor were the magic experts. Maybe they'll follow a similar formula for Unbended. So far we've got The Gambler - probably male ranged expert. The Blademaster (this one looks awesome!) - male melee expert. The Crystal Mage - female magic expert. So I'm guessing they might have a male magic expert, female melee expert, and female ranged expert still on the way. I'm really looking forward to the characters they're going to reveal. So far, the background stories for the existing characters have been really interesting and creative. 1 Link to comment
Popular Post Ulfgeir 14
I know I've expressed doubts about this project from time to time, even though I really am a very big fan and wish Studio II all the best. But since all the new updates have been made to the website, and everything looks so much more professional, I've decided to put my money where my mouth is and lend my support. As of today, I'm the proud owner of a new gravestone in Aetherra! 2 Link to comment

Thorin Oakshield 260
"Why not just have them put the same thing as was on your grave in Sacred 2?" Well, because I never had a grave in Sacred 2. At least, not one that I know off. I do know there are a few graves having the texts I came up with, on them. One is located at the graveyard where the SW starts, the other one at Artamark's Gate and if not mistaken there's a third as well, though I can't remember the location right now. However, using those doesn't feel right, as it gives me the impression I'm not creative enough. And I'd love to be creative with words. Edit (added): Less than 15 minutes after posting this, I came up with a nice text. So I ordered and paid for a grave. Thorin Edited June 5, 2014 by Thorin Oakshield 1 Link to comment
