Unbended Lore - The Lone Needle video

Recommended Posts

personally, I like ryans video and all his effort he puts in these..

but I'm still not sure how I should feel about using footage from games/material that are not from 'unbended' ..

even if it is sacred.. viewers that don't know sacred 1/2 and other games might get the wrong idea and think it's from unbended.

I try :sob:

But there's only about 13 seconds of that video that use Sacred as background footage. I blurred it a bit and used it only because the transitions between the same picture looked a little funky. It's hard to keep people's eyes interested when all I have to work with are 1 concept art piece, a world map, and some .pngs I custom made from their existing art. I agree though, I'm in a catch 22 here where I want to help bring awareness to the game to get more funding, but at the same time I don't want to come out with content that gives people the wrong idea.

I've been toying around with using some unrelated game content for transitions - something like ambient smoke on a black background. Thoughts on that? I enjoy making videos, but don't want to confuse others :)

Your work here is exceptional, there is obvious craft and care here, and you're creating buzz for the upcoming game, so a well deserved Bravo sir!

If there was something to add, though, perhaps stick with the way you're doing but just add a big disclaimer at the beginning of your video saying that all game play in the following video is not from UnBended, but from x and x games...

Make the disclaimer funny, entertaining, and clear.

I'd have no problem at all with something like this, specially if it a cool and funny disclaimer

 @ Ryan

We'd have to ask DreD for that one, he's our witty gravestone inscriber :4rofl:

You know, there is actually some art work out...have you considered having the camera doing a very slow pan across the surface of the images currently on the unbended site? In fact, they have their logo as well...this could provide that active engagement you're seeking, specially as background, while using true content...

Though I think using videos from other games is not a problem as long as it's made clear from the beginning that nothing moving you're showing is actually from UnBended.
