Popular Post gogoblender 3,039
Creature Update #16 Looks like there was room to squeeze in a few more monsters after all. With this, almost the entire D2 bestiary is now recreated. These are mostly oddball monsters who were just too bizarre to find models for, so there's some creative liberty taken here with how similar they look. Huge thanks to my modding partner Pesmontis for making most of these possible. Maw Fiend These monsters can be found on the Jungle islands as well as the smaller islands of Dyr Lain. Elites are bigger and their bites can make you bleed. Putrid Defiler These groteque creatures haunt battlefields where corpses are found, such as the battlegrounds of the Undead Legion. They are creatures of putrescent poison and have been seen resurrecting corpses for torment. Fangskin (superunique) It's difficult to recreate snake men, and in a game with lizard men it's not really necessary. So Fangskin is a powerful Jungle Lizard fighter who guards the entrance to the dungeon on north Jungle island. Sharptooth Slayer (superunique) This demon can be found lurking in the ruins of Logaeiar on Dyr Lain. Frozen Horrors (new design) Previously I announced the part of the Frozen Horrors would be played by the Hucin, but now their model has been replaced with one that resembles the original D2 creature more. Snapchip Shatter This superunique Frozen Horror also got a model update. He can still be found guarding the Bridge Spanning Nothing. Ventar the Unholy (new design) This superunique Balrog was previously identical to all others. Now he has a new unique model and is more powerful. Grand Vizier of Chaos (boss) A new demon boss who dwells in the big cave in southwestern Bengaresh Desert. Duriel (boss) The Lord of Pain makes his debut in v0.5. This battle, like the original, takes place in a tiny desert cramped cave. Duriel moves fast and will slow you to a crawl with a frost aura. Good luck. Mother Hydra (boss) Not strictly Diablo-related, but a boss I always wanted to make. Mother Hydra is in the watery western part of the Swamp. She can summon young Hydras, each with their own powers. Necromancer's Golem Summons (new designs) I had wanted to have multiple golems, and I figured out a way to do it. I've rearranged the modifcations somewhat, and for the gold mod, the player can choose between upgrading to Iron Golem or Fire Golem. This coincides with some new models, both for the original Clay Golem and the upgrades. Clay Golem - no longer a shrunken Gar'Colossus, now has a unique model (same powers) Iron Golem - has massive physical armor and damage, plus a high chance to reflect close combat Fire Golem - has substantial additional fire damage and fire immunity, with a high chance for burning Nessa (friendly Druid class quest character) Though she's just a minor player in the Druid's class quest, she gets a unique design. I'd like to make her play a bigger role if I'm able to extend the quest beyond its current stopping point. This wraps up the updates for beta 0.5. I'm entering pre-release testing phase now, and if no issues crop up release should be in ~5 days at most. Mother Hydra is insane looking. Don't remember getting that up close and in first person in the game... great perspective gogo 2 Link to comment
Popular Post Flix 5,116
New Release: Diablo 2 Fallen Beta 0.5 [OBSOLETE] Update (August 27) - updates the journal UI, and fixes a small glitch with Paladin skin color Please read the following! Download is about 730MB, unpacked it's around 820MB, so you will need at least that much free HD space. This mod requires the latest version of the Community Patch (1.50) to be installed beforehand. My recommendation is not to have any other mods installed if you're going to play D2F. None. This is a huge mod and compatibility is very limited. Item Mod 1.2a hf is already included, and custom versions of the Survival Mod and Serious Textures mod are also integrated. Music is not included. The music pack is a separate download available HERE. But you don't need to download it again if you already have it. My recommendation is to set "commentary" to OFF. The characters will still speak at certain times (inventory full, accept/reject/solve quest, find unique, etc.), and all of those instances have been replaced with D2 character voices. If you don't turn commentary off you will hear a weird mix of vanilla and D2F character voices. The fonts needed for the interface are located in the "pak/fonts" directory of the mod. They are three .ttf files. Double click them to install them on your system. Detailed Install Instructions (New Users): Download the Generic Mod Enabler (GME) and install it to your Sacred 2 root folder (the folder where Sacred 2 is installed).Mod Enabler is available at http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Miscellaneous/Generic-Mod-Enabler.shtml After running the GME once, it will make a folder called "MODS" there. Extract the contents of the D2F .rar file into the "MODS" folder. There should be two folders: "Diablo 2 Fallen Beta 0.5" and "D2F Inferno Patch". If using the D2F music pack, extract its contents ("music" folder) into the "pak" folder of the mod. So the structure will look like: [Diablo 2 Fallen Beta 0.5/pak/music]. Run the GME and enable Diablo 2 Fallen Beta 0.5. It may take a moment to install. The GME will back up your clean files and will allow to you to easily enable/disable the mod as you wish. -Optional - "Inferno Edition" patch should be enabled after enabling the main mod. Disable it before disabling the main mod. The fonts needed for the interface are located in the "pak/fonts" directory of the mod. They are three .ttf files. Double click them to install them on your system. Play with new characters only. Previous Users: Disable the old version of D2F with the GME (important!) Remove the old D2F folder from your "MODS" folder. Place the new "Diablo 2 Fallen Beta 0.5" folder into the "MODS" folder. Enable as usual. -Optional - "Inferno Edition" patch should be enabled after enabling the main mod. Disable it before disabling the main mod. You can continue playing with characters started under previous versions of D2F. Thanks to: Pesmontis for all his ideas and helping me import countless new monster and item designs. Silver Fox for scripting advice, and his work on textures, making new items, and god statues. VAMPIRE for making the French translation. Wardust for hundreds of ideas on changing textures of the landscape, enemies, and the characters. steinerrr for ideas on how to increase the power and challenge of monsters. SX255 for some Sabre Cat textures. The CM Patch team and all the modders who came before me, made modding tools, and showed me the way. Everyone who played the mod, posted feedback, and gave support. ================================================================================================================== Visual Guide to D2F Unique Weapons has been updated with several changes.List of D2F Quest Rewards remains the same as previous version. A new note about party buffs is included in the download. You can also read it HERE. I feel like taking a break from Sacred 2 modding for a little while.Enjoy the latest release of Diablo 2 Fallen. VAMPIRE 86
Hello Flix. Thank you for this new version, it is a treat.A small note: the cursor shaped glove is great, but we do not see the difference when you pick up an object. Can change the color, gold for example. An idea: the colors in the texts provides a nice visual. Different colors for quests completed in the quest book, or for the names of series of quests. But I think it would be a big job in text file. 1 Link to comment

Flix 5,116
Love this poster you made for the release! Thanks, Pesmontis made it actually. This mod wouldn't be what it is without him. I can't use this mod, I don't know why... When I install it with GME and run the game it simply crashes on the loading screen (the one before main menu appears) Hmm....are there any other mods installed? The only time I ever had a crash like that is when I messed up creatures.txt, but since the mod seems to be working for me and other users, I don't think there any bugged scripts. 1 Link to comment

Flix 5,116
That's the most direct, reliable source. This file is commonly giving false positives on anti-virus programs. There's nothing wrong with it. Link to comment
ComradePetrovin 1
Why would it show something that is not there? Very odd. Well you certainly are trustworthy so I guess I download it anyway. Link to comment
VAMPIRE 86
What a feast. You passed your bet Flix : The atmosphere is superb: music, new creatures, new hero: it is not the same play. You managed to place new creatures or do you want: constant surprise: Dark Elves early in the game, tainted in the caves. The spawn file is perfectly mastered. A big thank you Flix , and good luck for the work you're going to perform again. Edited August 9, 2015 by VAMPIRE 1 Link to comment

Popular Post DaveO 88
Great job on this mod! I didn't think there would be much difference between I&B + Community Patch and this mod. Boy, was I wrong. I highly recommend the mod to anyone still playing. 2 Link to comment
Popular Post Flix 5,116
Well, this is irritating... I left in a glitch with the Paladin's skin on the new default torso. I forgot to tell the game to treat the neck skin as skin, so it doesn't change color when you move the skin color slider. Anyway, here's a fix for it: D2F 0.5 Paladin Skin Hotfix Instructions: Before enabling D2F, extract the contents of the zip file into the "Diablo 2 Fallen Beta 0.5" folder and overwrite folders/files. Alternatively, after enabling D2F, extract the contents of the zip file into your Sacred 2 root folder and overwrite folders/files. I'll put a link to the fix in the main download post shortly. 2 Link to comment
Flix 5,116
Can anyone else confirm that Fiacla-Gear's picture is missing from his book about him in the journal? Even though I haven't changed it since the first release it looks like it's not appearing anymore. I fixed it by renaming the file and altering the journal entry text, but I know it was working before which makes it all the more perplexing. Anyway, speaking of the journal, Vampire brought it to my attention today that I could make it look darker to match the rest of the interface. I'm trying some things, and I was wondering if people had any thoughts about it? This style looks more like the old pre-CM Patch journal. EDIT: Here's an updated pic with the elements sized to fit better: Edited August 15, 2015 by Flix 1 Link to comment
Popular Post Flix 5,116
Ok I made some more adjustments to the journal. I'm pretty happy with the new design. Here's the proposed new quest log: And the books w/ easier to read font for the volume titles: And the achievements list: Although I like the "book" design from the CM Patch, I think this redesign matches the rest of the user interface better, and is more reminiscent of Diablo 2 as well. 3 Link to comment
